My initial proposal was assuming that the goup was challenging themselves to pick up the village as much as they could in less than a day, we can always shorten it. Also think that some of the character's actions will open up some different possibilities too. It might be better and safer for them to head back to a bigger town. In Calar's mind, he doesn't know these folks but a day and can't make that decision for them. Despite all our good work, we may have just extended the dying process.
