Background:

 

Rayla Rye grew up in the impoverished district of Parchment Heights at Alpha Tarsonis, a gritty and crime-ridden neighborhood. Her already bad life took a dramatic turn when her much younger brother, Ethan Rye, was diagnosed with a chronic and rare illness that required extensive medical treatment. The expensive medication, specialized doctors, and ongoing heath care drained her family's already limited resources.

Rayla, with her striking emerald green-eyes and black hair like a raven's wing, took upon herself the responsibility to find a way to save Ethan's life. She was always a tough one, hardened by the harsh realities of their environment, and she blatantly refused to let her brother suffer. Determined and resourceful, she set out to make enough money to afford his expensive treatment.

During her journey, Rayla's bitterness grew exponentially from witnessing the unfairness of life, where those with wealth and privilege seemed to glide effortlessly while others, like her family, struggled to survive. She developed a strong sense of justice and a deep resentment toward those that benefited from the suffering of others.

To secure funds for her brother's treatment, Rayla delved into the dangerous world of underground fighting. She honed her combat skills, utilizing her natural strength and agility, and quickly gained a reputation for her brutal determination in the ring. Her bitter resolve and steel muscles fueled fer fights, giving her the edge she needed to win against opponents who underestimated her.

Outside the fighting arena, Rayla managed to finish her technician training, allowing her to take slightly better jobs. She refused nothing, if enough money was at the table. She navigated the dark underbelly of the city, utilizing her street smarts and the tough persona she had cultivated over the years, doing odd jobs. Rayla's encounters with corruption and cruelty only fueled her determination to save Ethan. She developed a deep sense of cynicism, doubting the existence of true justice and kindness in the world.

Now, Rayla finds herself at a crossroads, with her brother's condition worsening and the medical expenses pilling up. She is driven to take on even riskier ventures, pushing herself to the limit, as she searches for that one opportunity that could save her brother's life. And that is how, against her parents' will and her better judgement, she ends up at the Montero's crew.

I adore what you have added to her background! I also like the name change from Kayla to Rayla. It suits her, tbh.

 

Tag me when you have chosen her starting equipment. All the item info should be in the CS I posted for her so you won't need to look anything up, but if you do have questions then please ask them. You can also swap any of the numbers around in her abilities and skills as long as you don't change any of the actual numbers.

Can I create a name of a planet, are there other planets or only Earth is a valid location?

The Maintenance Jack bonus is cumulative with the Watsumi? They are used in different situations? Because depending on the answer, maybe Hydr8tion is a better choice.

Lol!! I thought it was a typo at first but noticed it was used throughout the rest of the backstory xD Beautiful!

So there is Earth but also multiple colonies in space that you can play around with. Right now I'm working on laundry, but I can come back later to share some colony resources with you. ^_^

And yes, the bonuses to Heavy Machinery would stack but it would have to be relevant. How are you using the Jack with the Watsumi? If you can explain it during the game, then I will allow it.
