Rock played football all his life and he was great at it. It helped that he is a walking refrigerator that can sprint like a gazelle. He was a star quarterback for his college team and went pro right after. He's most famous for his stint on the New York Giants both on and off-field. His off time was spent gallivanting around New York, partying it up with everyday folks very much in the public eye. During his time with the Giants, playing as a tight-end, he set several league records. One was for most touchdowns in a season but more impressive was his record for most interceptions from his own team. If Rock was anywhere near where the ball was thrown somehow he'd always get his hands on it rather than any intended receiver. This frequently meant that Rock was in a crowd when he did get the ball and so on many occasions he was punished by the other teams. This constant wear and tear on his body was starting to take it's toll and so, in his famously televised last game, he did a touchdown dance wherein Rock spun the ball on the ground. His teammates all knew this was their cue to feign being scared of the ball, throwing their hands up and running, some pretend squealing. Rock took off his team jersey to reveal a black t-shirt with the logo of the Ghostbusters on it. He took three steps and booted the ball into the crowd. The team incurred a penalty and Rock walked off the field with 3:20 in the last half still on the clock. The stunned sports reporters snapped shots as he strode down the tunnel.

There was an article entitled "Who ya gonna call" with the image of Rock walking off the field.

He quit profootball to become a real hero, a ghostbuster.

He's been applying to the organization ever since.
