  2. Vili Goodhammer Vili claps Silvermane in welcome, still nervously regarding his reflection in the mirror. "We better be movin' along," he mutters. "Th' more time we give the folks upstairs, th' more prepared they'll be fer us when we get there." He encourages the group to keep on, stepping back out into the hallway and continuing their methodical search of the rooms. Description Vili is obviously very, very proud of his long, luxurious golden hair. It is apparent that he has devoted hours every day to washing, combing, braiding and even waxing it. He believes he is the most handsome dwarf in all of Taldor, and it shows. The pleasant scent of musk and spices travels with him as he typically perfumes his clothes. He carries a dwarven warhammer that is inscribed with glowing runes at his belt, and has a sturdy heavy shield that has painted with the symbol of Torag. He also wears an amulet with Torag's symbol around his neck. His chest is covered by shiny armor that fits him like a glove, but leaves his impressive arm muscles uncovered for general admiration. His voice is deep and breathy and strangely musical. He has a very unsettling gaze, as if he is looking directly into people's souls, so he is careful to keep his eyes half-lidded when he wishes to be more friendly. 3. Silvermane frowns, "Oh! Yes, I forgot that part. My birth name was taken from me when I was disowned so I've been going by Silvermane. My coloration is unusual among my people so I stand out so it seems appropriate. I think it's quite distinguished, myself. In any case, I'm stuck with it in the mean time. As for my skills, I am a priest of my dear god Ragdya, he who created my kind. As such, I am a healer and mender. I also excelled in the arcane studies and have a more than rudimentary grasp of the spells of the kind mages prefer, though I would not consider that my 'calling' as it were. It's quite useful though."

Brand pondered the furry figure for a long moment, then gave a shrug. "Seems like we're all after the same goal, so doesn't bother me. You got a name, monkey man?" He continued to sift through the items in the room as he talked, tossing random things that looked useless on the ground, then stood up and closed his eyes as he used a minor spell he had to detect the presence of magic in the area. "And what can you do? As you might have seen, Vili and I generally stand in front. Caida helps out there too. Kal is a dab hand with his whip and Tobias...He's like uh...sneaky mage?" 5. Silvermane nods to each of the party as introductions are made. To Brand he says, "Well, no. It wasn't my name here that I need to clear. It is in my homeland. These portals began opening bringing a pervasive cold unseen in my country. That thing appeared soon after and began insinuating itself among my people while bearing my countenance. It created mischief of a most unsavory nature and absconded with my wealth and reputation. All I have left is what I carry on my person. I and my companions chased it through the portal, both to find the source of the portal and close it and (more importantly) to obtain proof and clear my name amongst my people. We quite enjoy a good prank but this has gone far beyond such serious frivolity. I am glad to be rid of the creature, but it's hairless and wicked face is no proof of my claim." "We encountered intractable foes here and my companions were killed or split from myself and I was quite on my own," He makes a religious sign in front of himself. "I had no way to lay siege to this place with my powers alone so I took refuge. But then I heard of a group laying their own assault upon the bastions, which is yourselves, and I followed in tow doing by best to remain unobserved. I had no way to know of your intentions or allegiances, of course. With the guard dead or distracted, I took the opportunity to seek and confront my own doppelganger. This is where you came in to the story."
  6. Old Brand Mountain Man HP: 33/34 | AC: 16 Perception +8 Spell Slots 1st: Caida Alpha Wolf HP: 21/27 | AC: 17 Perception +5 Current Command ??? Brand balked as one of the monkeys slowly shifted into something...else. He couldn't help but stare as the corpse continued to shift, giving it another firm poke with his blade to make sure the creature really was dead. Then he casually made one more swing with his blade to remove the head entirely. "By all the gods! I don't know what that thing was, but nothing survives without a head." He looked to his other companions and then to the remaining monkey man. Apparently they had chosen the right side, unless both were actually those sorts of creatures. He studied the talkative furry one for a long moment. It sure did like to talk a lot. He gave a nod when Vili introduced him, still not really sure what to make of the situation. "Not really sure why you'd care to clear your name with anyone in this tower but..." He gave a shrug. "We can talk about that as we make our way up the tower." He pointed toward the Captain and let out a sigh. "Like Vili said, we came here from Taldor by some magic. Witches took Nadya's daughter and are creating portals and letting it snow, so we've come to save the girl and find the one making these damnable portals and...well..." He gave the doppelganger's corpse a sight nudge with one foot. "Pretty much this." The old man sheathed his sword and started to look around the room. "Let's give this place, and this monster a once over and then be on our way...Where's home and how did you end up here anyway?" Brand couldn't have imagined what good keeping Silvermane in a room with his double was, but far be it from him to understand the lunacy of witches. 7. Vili Goodhammer Vili bows to Silvermane in welcome, but is distracted by the large mirror on the wall of this room. He glares at it. "I s'pose it ain't an accident that everywhere in this Torag-damned tower's got a mirror in it," he says, sorely tempted to smash it. "Anyway, welcome to the raid, as it were. I'm Vili, that's Brand and Kal, over there is Toby and Caida, and that's Nadya." Despite his obviously dwarvish nature, he is surprisingly charming and well-spoken— almost like he is supernaturally gifted with a silver tongue. 8. Silvermane grabs a brass candlestick off the shelf and bashes the creature in the head, a few more times than is strictly necessary. The grey skinned figure goes limp. Breathing heavily, he drops the heavy weight and looks down at the dead creature. "Blessed Ragdya... it's not even a person. How can I clear my name now?" He steps back still looking down at the face that was once his just a moment ago. "It's quite a feeling, to see one's self like that. Like a nightmare, even though I have awakened, I cannot shake the feeling of dread. I think I shall see my own face in the darkness for a long time hence." He looks around at the others in the room, feeling embarrassed. "Ah yes. My rescuers. You cleared the path for me to get me here and again you have helped end the means of my own demise. I am indebted to you. I am... also quite unsure of how to get home as I came through a portal to get here, if even I have a home to return to. As I said, I am gifted with magic and will aid your cause if you will so allow me."
  9. The Pale Tower - Second Floor, Library Vili's aggressiveness is sudden and unsuccessful, the monkey-man hopping into the swing and evading as Vili overcommits. But Brand takes advantage of this, his new sword burning into its target and causing it to scream in a voice nothing like the monkey is turns out it was, indeed, impersonating. With a rapid fleshy squelching, its fur shifts and fades to a pallid grey-pink as more and more monkey features give way to featureless skin. Barely able to stand from the hewing, Kal's whip knocks it off its perch and onto the floor as it flails ineffectively, only scarring the bedframe in the process.
  10. "Desna's doublet!" This day just kept getting weirder and weirder, and Tobias' exasperation was beginning to overshadow even his fear. The situation with the captives was already harrowing enough, and that nagging feeling that he was forgetting something of importance just would not let go. And now they had to deal with a pair of argumentative monkeys straight out of a Tian Xia children's parable? He was not shocked when his allies committed to violence, though it did surprise him that only one of the two was a target for their ire. Still, they made their choice, and the halfling dutifully slipped behind them, determined to help but remain as far from the actual danger as absolutely possible. Kal was moving in for a trip and Tobias swiftly drew a card and charged it, a quick toss to knock the irksome primate off-balance. 17. The Pale Tower - Second Floor, Southern Guest Rooms Whatever these two are, whether they're something more beneath their immediate appearance, Brand himself can't tell any actual difference. They're both mad monkeys, it seems. Caida, however, seems to be far more wary of the southern one, the one being said to live here. She seems confused by it. However, Vili may not be familiar with Casmaron, but he is familiar with magic and evil. With the accusations of being a hedge wizard, Vili's examination of the two of them can pick up a few tells: The one by the window is indeed a spellcaster while the one on the furniture is not, yet both have the classic smell of magic around them. Yet, at the same time, neither smell of outright witchcraft, fey magics, or evil. Worst of all, both seem to be telling some form of truth. They're too angry to suss out the truth, but both have wrapped their accusations around some kernel of reality. The one by the window is absolutely a mage, though probably not a "duplicitous hedge wizard". The other has definitely spent other peoples' money and has lived in the tower long enough that Caida smells it on him, but whether he's a backstabber or ruined familial ties is up in the air.
  18. Silvermane points accusatorially, "That one will, stab you in the back, ruin your life and spend all your money!" Silvermane points at Silvermane in turn, "That one will be gullible, worthless and weigh you down like a sack of potatoes. On top of being a liar and duplicitous hedge wizard of the feeblest mein!"
  19. Vili Goodhammer Vili gives the creatures a similar gaze of confusion, and nods to Brand. "Aye," he says. "It donnae sound like they have anythin' of value fer our quest, boot at least they aren't attackin' us like everythin' else in this cursed tower. Might be they donnae work fer the witches. Oy, you two, tell us what the other one will do if we let 'im come with us?" He squints at the two creatures, attempting to determine more about their motivations and trustworthiness with his special intuition. Fairly average in height and build for a halfling of his race, his dark brown hair and blue eyes imply a much more mundane heritage than the larger-than-life attitude and persona he embodies in the public world. A bit of a fashionista, Tobias is constantly perusing the local markets for expensive clothing and jewelry to adorn himself with, though often the garments he selects have much more practical utility than they may seem on first glance. Equally at home in a high class party or a seedy tavern, the halfling constantly changes moods and expressions to suit the location, but his sense of self-confidence and ability to trust in his own luck shines through even the most dour countenance. Many Questions One eye open, then the other. It was a strange room, completely unfamiliar than normal to Tobias, and despite an odd sense of safety it left him on the edge. Not that it lacked for creature comforts; the chair he found himself in was surprisingly soft, almost drawing him into it. And just the right size as well, allowing the halfling to see just over the edge of the table. Very unlike dwarven craftsmanship he had encountered in the past. Speaking of... If the first thing he had noticed was the furniture to his immediate surroundings, the second was the movement of what seemed to be a dwarf at first glance, rustling through papers and giving him an occasional furitive glance. The logical part of Tobias's brain screamed wariness, a common response he had for any sort of authority figure, but form some reason he remained still and calm. A thousand questions raced through his mind, but his mouth simply would not move, as if it had forgotten how to form the words. And so he sat silently until the crinkly old man finally deigned to speak himself. "Who are you and where are you from? What did you do there?" Tobias blinked. A strange pair of questions, barely relevant to the situation at hand. Or was it? It was certainly what he wanted to know, after all. But the dwarfman clearly knew a great deal more about the circumstances of their meeting, and the halfling was on the defensive. Not that that was anything new; when you sat at the card table of the local tavern more evenings than not, you learned quickly how to handle the unknowns as effortlessly and reflexively as one walked. What was strange, however, is how honest he seemed to be when his mouth finally started providing the old man answers. "Tobias Bersali, at your service! Toby, if you prefer, but never Tob. Of the fine Bersali clan of Maheto, I'm sure you have heard of us. A merchant house of some esteem, we are. Or were, the last time I was home - family disagreements, you understand. A dabbler in many skills of the trade, I was. Mostly curation of our goods of the trade, and acquirer of objects rare but valuable that customers might want. Or for my own, if I am to be honest..." His hand came up to his forehead, partially a reflexive gesture to hide his confusion, but also in response to a throbbing that was growing in his head. He was usually not this frank, but for some reason, he kept speaking without the normal glib fictions he would relate to a stranger. "Ah... a lot of valuable... trinkets, wound up in my possession, you seen. Fast talking, a lie here and there, it was normally fairly easy. Customers in a dwarven shop expect trustworthiness, after all. But a few things, they seemed to hold something more, and when I decided I wanted those... well. Let us just say that situations spiraled out of control and I decided it would be best if I were in a different place for a while, yes?" If the old man seemed perturbed by the confession, he didn't show it. Instead the pen touched both paper and beard in equal measure, until he finally stopped and again regarded the halfling. "What do you know of Heldren? What does Heldren know of you?" Again, Tobias blinked. Was the man related to Heldren, and trying to weed out possible trouble on the way? But again he found his answers flowing forward without the mental dam of tact stopping them. "A small town in the middle of nowhere? I'll be frank, I know very little about it. Perhaps just a fine place to escape any unhappy people on my case. Or get extra supplies and try my luck on the other side of the border woods." He coughed, hoping his dismissive description of the place hadn't offended his host, but again the man or dwarf seemed unphased. "I've heard and seen the early winter in Heldren. What do you think of it?" Another question, related to the last one. Tobias was a little less worried as his mouth opened, both because it seemed like his answer to this would be less damning, and because he was beginning to grow used to his lack of control. Adaptability had always been one of Toby's strengths, after all, and when you couldn't deflect the punches it was usually best to roll with them. "I'm not sure what to make of it, to be honest. I just figured that things would get colder this far out into the wilderness; the Border Woods have always been a little weird. At least the stories I've heard of them, anyways, the witches and the other nasty tales. But if the villagers also think it is weird... well. It is normal for a simple farmer to be superstitious, but I would never discount those stories as completely false either. Good way to wind up cursed, or worse, yeah?" A nice neutral answer. The halfling was starting to settle into a rhythm now, and he awaited the next query, which was soon to follow. "Would you consider yourself an adventurer? A mercenary? A treasure hunter? If none of those things, then what?" "Um... me? I suppose an adventurer... A traveler, entertainer, whatever you need really!" A broad grin crossed his face, and he felt his normal glibness returning, at least to a small degree. "I've a good eye for value, items of power long forgotten are my particular specialty! Or perhaps you desire insight of the divine? I've a knack for the telling of fortunes, via this harrow deck..." His hand drifted to a belt which wasn't there, and abruptly he was less confident than before. "...that, uh... was definitely mine. I mean, after I... acquired it from a Varisian trader. He lost it, fair and square! And he definitely isn't part of that situation I mentioned earlier!" Here he was being defensive! This whole situation was wrong, and ever more uncomfortable for Tobias. Sinking back into the chair, he grimaced at the poor explanation he had given the old man, and how obviously questionable his gambling acquisitions had been. But again the old man showed no reaction, only proceeding to the next question after he had properly marked both beard and parchment black with ink. "The news of a noblewoman being kidnapped is a terrifying occurrence in such a small village. What terrifies you?" "Uh... terror?" Again, the topic had shifted quite suddenly. Tobias prided himself on his ability to steer the conversation in directions he desired, but this old man's complete disregard for flow and unreadable face left him bewildered. "I suppose... normal things? Demons and devils, you know. Slave traders, looking to round up more halflings for their trade. The tax collectors, and those border guards too stuck up to accept the proper bribes? Being found out by those with authority..." He clamped his mouth shut before he could make any more confessions. "What does it take for you to consider a stranger an ally? A friend? An enemy?" And the conversation shifted yet again. Apparently the man considered himself a bit of a philosopher. "Well... I suppose that depends where we are. I will drink with a man and call him friend, then play cards against him and call him enemy. Or perhaps he will call me enemy, once I have cleaned him out..." He coughed uncomfortably, not really having a good answer for the question. "I suppose being a friend is easy, but being trustworthy... that takes time. And experience. A con artist watches his enemies closely, but his allies even closer." "Time for some hypotheticals. As you're walking through town, you take a wrong turn into a small and quiet side street. You hear a rustle behind and suddenly someone is behind you. Before they can say or do anything, what do you do?" A light, involuntary shudder. "I avoid those side streets as best I can for a reason. You may have noticed I am not the largest, most intimidating figure. I would like to say I would confront them, but honestly... I would bolt. Immediately. Better to run from a potential threat than stay and face a real one..." "Now let's twist that question. Instead of a small side street, you turn onto the market's main thoroughfare. Same person, but now this woman has an arm around your shoulder and is acting like your best friend." A slow smile crept across Tobias's face. "Well now, that sounds like a story in the making. Perhaps we could find ourselves a quieter place where we can discuss why she has such a sudden interest in a stranger like me? A nice quiet inn room where we could... trade stories, if you catch my meaning..." He chuckled at his bit of innuendo, then glanced up to see if the old man had bothered to finally react. Only to find the man gone, the parchment laid neatly on the table as if it had never been moved.
  23. Silvermane notices the people at the door, "Oh it's you people. I bet this scoundrel knows this place given that he lives here! The blackguard has led a windy chase but I've cornered him in his lair!" Silvermane grabs a brass urn and chucks it at his double, "Charlatan! Have at you! I bet you're in cahoots with these interlopers, and I'll have you know that my home is far away from here where I'd hoped to never cross paths with a duplicitous dolt such as you!"
  24. Vili Goodhammer Vili stares at the creatures through his bushy, blonde eyebrows. "Truly, this place is well-cursed. It's tha witches. They corrupt everythin' they touch." He gives the two vanaras a stern look and waggles his hammer in a menacing way. "Now you answer the big man's questions, or ye'll be in for a world of trouble, in great Torag's name." It is apparent that he has devoted hours every day to washing, combing, braiding and even waxing it.

Dwarven Hero with Battle Implements and Kissy-face, oil on canvas, 4711 A.R. art by Ilia Ellion Name: Race: Dwarf Alignment: Neutral Good Classes: Cleric (Foundation of Faith / Separatist) // Inquisitor (Preacher / Relic Hunter / Witch Hunter) Deity: Torag Description Vili is obviously very, very proud of his long, luxurious golden hair. Background The Goodhammers are a large and influential family from Highhelm, made up mostly of smiths and priests of Torag. Vili, of course, was not like the other Goodhammers, preferring to live a hedonistic and adventurous childhood. He had a fondness for humans, and often sought them out against his family's wishes. He would take extended journeys into Taldor to spend the Goodhammer wealth in human taverns and brothels. He would brawl and drink and wrestle and smoke. Vili loved women; Vili loved men; most of all, Vili loved Vili. On one of these trips, he encountered a human woman who at first sight captured his heart-- or at least his interest. She was fair and comely with white hair beneath her fur-lined cloak and after the two of them had spent quite some time flirting with each other she said she was looking for information about dwarven artifacts associated with the famous Sky Citadels-- artifacts of which Vili had some personal knowledge, having seen them in use at Torag's temple. He agreed to answer her questions, but only if she would share some personal and intimate knowledge of herself with him in return. Disgusted, she cursed Vili and swore in a chilling and ominous voice that because of his vile proposal, neither he nor any of his relatives would be able to father children ever again. Vili soon recognized the effects of the witch's curse upon himself, but of course he did not reveal the details of the encounter immediately upon his return to Highhelm. But after a year, when the deleterious effects had become apparent to the other male members of the family, ashamedly he confessed all to the family matriarch, his great-aunt the high priest of Torag. As punishment, she ordained that he could either be cast out of the family or put aside his wastrel ways and serve the church. Reluctantly, Vili agreed to join Torag's faithful. His first task was to discover how to break the curse, for it was too powerful for the priests to overcome. He soon learned that the woman he had offended was likely a white witch of Irrisen, and that according to fairy tales they could capture a person's physical essence in a magical item that they would then use to power their rituals. Vili believes that if he can acquire one of these items and properly destroy it, he could reabsorb his physical essence from the liberated magic and thus break the spell. Or, alternatively, he could kill one of these white witches who was in the process of performing a similar ritual powered by one of these items, and so recover his potency that way. Vili brought this information to the temple and his great-aunt the high priest. Through auguries and divinations, she was able to confirm that his theory was more or less correct, and that Vili would find a white witch who possesses an item matching this description if he traveled to the village of Heldren in southern Taldor. The omens were vague, but she cautioned him that the signs spoke of a great danger to the entire continent, that he was needed to fight. Adopting the persona of a wandering preacher of Torag's word, Vili set off for Heldren at once, ready to face both the white witches and his destiny. "Backstory Questions" 1.Who are you and where are you from? What do/did you do there? "I'm Vili Goodhammer, from Highhelm, yer excellency," Vili says, eyeing the bespectacled man closely. "True servant of Blessed Torag, as well ye may know. I, er, well, I've been a sort of herald o' the church, charged wit' spreadin' His good word. Might be in the past I kept to a bit o' roundabout path to get there, but get there I did. None o' them to whom I preached ever had cause to complain, I tell you that. Ha!" 2.What do you know of Heldren? What does Heldren know of you? Vili scratches his nose and looks sidelong at the bespectacled man. "Heldren? Ah, it's funny ye should mention it," he says, "for I've myself not heard o' the place until very recently. Me great-aunt prophesied that I would find me destiny in the village of Heldren. Or rather, that I would find th' white witch who holds me destiny in her talons." He scrunches up his face and looks to the heavens to organize his thoughts. "It's in Taldor, aye, to the south a fair way. A bit of a walk, and no mistake! I've been to Taldor many times, though, so I don't mind the journey. Don't think I know anybody from around there." He laughs again. "Some of my kids could live there, I guess, th' ones I don't know anythin' about!" 3.I've heard and seen the early winter in Heldren. What do you think of it? Vili blinks. "Early winter? Ha, that's interesting, I always thought it was warmer in th' south. Probably those witches' work, that sounds like th' sort of thing they do. I'll sort 'em out soon enough!" He throws his hair back and smirks. "Once they get to know me, they won't be able to resist me charms! I know how to melt their cold hearts, it is right on the tip of my tongue. Right beside the holy words of the All-Father, o' course." 4.Would you consider yourself an adventurer? A mercenary? A treasure hunter? If none of those things, then what? Vili smiles slyly. "I'm an adventurer, sure enough. A hero on a heroic quest! But I'm not against takin' a few side trips on th' way. Wouldn't say no to fair payment, neither. Torag teaches that honest work deserves honest wages." He winks. "I'll accept coin or kisses, whatever the Father sends me way." 5.The news of a noblewoman being kidnapped is a terrifying occurrence in such a small village. What terrifies you? "Terrifies me? Why, nothin' can frighten a true servant of Torag, be it creatures from the dark deep, or hordes from the high hills! The Goodhammers are stalwart and steady, always." His bravado falters slowly under the unyielding eye of his interrogator. "Well, now-- you won't say anythin' to anyone? I-- I will say that these witches' works scare me a bit, for I have learned firsthand what they can do with their foul hexes. And it is a frightenin' thing, thinking I might have t' go back to Highhelm in shame, havin' not lifted their curse upon me and me family-- aye, that is a fate I canno' imagine. How can we honor the Father if we can't father, I ask ye? But nay, I must not think it. My quest will succeed, and all will be well again very soon." 6.What does it take for you to consider a stranger an ally? A friend? An enemy? Vili thinks about this question, watching the bespectacled man. "It ain't much," he says finally. "I say mostly it just takes th' stranger treatin' me the same way. Friendly to me? I am the friendliest soul in return. Attack me? Ye won't find a swifter counter. It is written, Torag believes the best attack is in the prepared defense. I always let others make the first mistake, ha." He shakes his hair out of his face and smiles. 7.Time for some hypotheticals. As you're walking through town, you take a wrong turn into a small and quiet side street. You hear a rustle behind and suddenly someone is behind you. Before they can say or do anything, what do you do? Vili laughs. "I always prefer talkin' to fightin'," he grins. "I guess I'd warn 'em that I got Torag's warhammer handy, but that there's lots o' other ways to introduce ourselves. Maybe we don't have to fight?" 8.Now let's twist that question. Instead of a small side street, you turn onto the market's main thoroughfare. Same person, but now this woman has an arm around your shoulder and is acting like your best friend. Vili chortles. "Now this story sounds different, and even though it's probably just more o' the same, I like it better," he says with enthusiasm. "But I'm not keen to grapple until I have some sense o' the stakes. Let's get to know each other better. Is she fleeing someone, or fleecing someone, or does she just recognize greatness when she sees it?" He pauses. "The last, I'm guessin'. Ladies canno' resist a flash o' the Vili gold-- his golden locks! Ha!" "Build notes" Vili is a warhammer-focused Relic Hunter inquisitor, which is basically an occultist with inquisitor spells, and a Separatist cleric dedicated to Torag's hitherto-little-known influence on dashing and romantic courtly love. He specializes in dealing with enemy spellcasters, with a combination of attacks of opportunity from Torag's Patient Strikes, the Step Up line of feats, special Witch Hunter abilities, and heightened dwarven resistance to spells. Primarily a tanker, he also makes a fine buffer and striker, and he has lots of useful skills associated with investigation and social interaction (Appraise, Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Linguistics, Perception, Sense Motive, Spellcraft, and Survival). "A Secret!" Osakabe-hime is the best kitsune.

After Brand knocked out the Captain, he slung her over his shoulder as they started to make their way. He pondered her response as they walked, still not sure what to do with the woman. So in typical fashion, Brand decided to take the 'wait and see' approach. They still had a long way to go, and if there were no traps like she had said, odds were good she would survive. He would be much less wary of her after the tower had been dealt with. He took the lead as they heard a crash, and when the door opened, he found himself very confused by the scene. He leaned over slightly toward Kal as he set the captain down next to him. "No one mentioned a bunch of monkeys in the tower..." He slowly drew his weapon. As much as he regretted it, Brand decided it might be wise to see if they were hostile or even sentient. He let out a shrill whistle to get the attention of both primates. "Which of you knows the layout of the tower?" At the very least, if they attacked first, he knew what would follow. Trolls, Dragon-women warriors, and now a pair of monkeys...This tower seemed to get more maddening with every room.
