Houserules


HERE is the free Reign of Winter Player's Guide.

Please post applications in the Application thread group.

Make sure to mark your app when complete! I don't like to guess.

Yes, I require a MW sheet. It doesn't have to be an entirely complete sheet, I don't mind missing spells, equipment, etc., but please have the skeleton done. I strongly prefer the non-experimental sheet, but it is not required. You can finish it after getting accepted.

I have a Discord server, which I'll be asking people who become players to join. No, it is not required but I do recommend it. You can otherwise contact me via Discord on the Mythweavers Official Discord.

APPLICATION RULES:

Starting Level: We will begin at 1st level, Gestalt. Leveling will be based on story progression.

Starting Wealth: The average of the averages of your classes, plus 3sp.
Example:
Fighter|Monk is 175+35=210/2=105
So you would begin with 105gp, 3sp.

Races: Any Core race, as well as Catfolk, Ifrit, Oread, Sylph, Undine, Suli, Merfolk, Syrinx, Vanara, Vishkanya, Orc, Kobold, and Ratfolk.
No custom races.
Should you gain Cold Resist 5 as a racial trait, please trade it away. It kinda negates a large chunk of the early adventure. This only applies to races, not to classes and traits.

Classes/Archetypes: Any first-party found on the pfsrd.
Summoners must be Unchained, other Unchained classes are optional.
Synthesist Summoner is banned.
Firearms, the Gunslinger, and firearm-using archetypes are allowed. As per Golarion, firearms are Emerging, but I am cutting the cost of Alchemical Cartridges in half and of firearms themselves to 1/4th.
If an archetype is not normally compatible with Unchained, we can try to make it work if/when we need to.
No archetypes that emulate the Summoner, such as the Monster Tactician Inquisitor, are allowed.
Third-party Favored Class Bonuses are allowed for race/class combinations that otherwise do not have specific favored class bonuses.
PoW classes are not allowed.
You may use the 3rd Party Unchained Ninja.

[b]Stats[/b]: 21 point buy.

[B]HP/HitDice[/B]: Max at first, average for the rest. This applies to animal companions, as well.

[B]Traits/Drawbacks[/B]: Two traits, a third for a Drawback. One must be a Campaign Trait. If none of the Reign of Winter campaign traits jump out at you, step one is to consider adjusting fluff. Step two is to really consider adjusting fluff. Only on step three do you ask if you can use a different campaign's traits.

[B]Feats[/B]: 3.5's Brutal Throw is allowed.
Path of War feats that do not grant maneuvers or stances are allowed.
Precise Shot and the penalty it removed no longer exist. It is because I am lazy and everyone constantly forgets about the rule. Plus, it lightens the feat load.
Weapon Focus and similar feats apply to whole Fighter Weapon Groups. [ooc=Warpriests.]Warpriests still only choose one specific weapon from Weapon Focus as their Sacred Weapon.[/ooc] [ooc=Restricted Bonus Feats.]An Archetype or Class that gains a specific Weapon Focus or similar as a bonus feat, such as Swashbuckler (Inspired Blade), still has the restriction.[/ooc]
[ooc=Powerful]You do not provoke an attack of opportunity when performing a bull rush, drag, reposition, overrun, or sunder combat maneuvers, and you receive a +2 bonus on checks with these combat maneuvers.[/ooc] and [ooc=Deft Maneuvers]You do not provoke an attack of opportunity when performing a trip, disarm, dirty trick, feint, or steal combat maneuver, and you receive a +2 bonus on checks with these combat maneuvers.[/ooc] replace their relevant Improved Combat Maneuver feats, keeping the same prerequisites. The Greater variations still exist.
Power Attack, Piranha Strike, Deadly Aim, Weapon Finesse, and Combat Expertise are automatic options for anyone who meets their prerequisites. No need to take a feat.
I will not be allowing Leadership to be taken as a feat. However! You are free to take the Squire feat, but it will not evolve into Leadership. Remember, though, that I control Cohorts in combat. Do not expect Followers to join you in normal combat.
Any class that gains a bonus feat that has been removed by these houserules now have a floating bonus feat in its place.
I allow instant retraining of the Undersized Mount feat if your little creature buddy (Animal Companion, Special Mount, etc) gets bigger when you level.

[B]Skills[/B]: Background Skills are in effect. All characters gain one Skill unlock per 5 levels, but Rogues get 3 every five levels.

[B]Alignment[/B]: Any except Chaotic Evil and Chaotic Neutral. No Jeofferies. Little Fingers are allowed, but try not to switch sides in the middle of a boss battle. That ain't very fun for anyone but you.

[B]Deities[/B]: Standard Golarion, but the Historic deities found [URL="https://i.imgur.com/9p9Wwcj.png"]HERE[/URL] are also allowed.

[B]Backstory[/B]: Not required due to [URL="https://www.myth-weavers.com/showthread.php?p=14406920"]THIS[/URL].

[B]Personality[/B]: Not required due to the above.

[B]Appearance[/B]: A few sentences is all I need, plus an appropriate image for token purposes.

MISCELLANEOUS CHANGES TO THINGS THAT MAY MATTER:
[*]Natural 1s are never automatic failures, on any roll.
[*]Please mark your conditional modifiers in your stat block. I cannot remember every "+2 on Jump but only when singing" for every character!
[*]Quick Draw also allows for Quick Sheathing.
[*]I reserve the right to veto builds and parts of builds if I smell tomfoolery (such as infinite loops).
[*]Pre-game crafting of mundane items is allowed. Assume that you Take 10. However, there will not be a decent amount of downtime during the campaign for long-term crafting.
[*]There is a code hidden in a spoiler at the bottom of this thread. Include it in your application somehow.
[*]If you can justify a change to a PrC, Class, or feat's alignment requirement, I'll probably allow it after a short discussion on what that change is.
[*]When dealing with minions, Animal Companions, Summons, Familiars, et al move on your turn, and at your command (assuming you can command them). Hireling and Cohorts move on their initiative and are controlled by me. You can command them, but they may act in their interest over a poorly shouted command, or if no command was given.
[*]Note that because Backstory and Personality are not required, I won't make much more than a passing glance at it. If you do want to write them, condense them.
[*]I do not track mundane ammunition. Just make sure to mark that you have a quiver, powder horn, or the like. Special materials, alchemic ammunition, and the like will be tracked.
