Welcome to the Ground Patrol, the 'premier' fighting force of the Skies Between, responsible for ensuring the 'uncivilized' races stay below the lower crust and to protect the realm against the incursions of the Dragons. Or that is what was the recruiters call, and perhaps in some posts that would be accurate. After the year and a half of basic training learning what the majority of a patrol would actually entail, policing minor disputes, checking for contraband, busting illegal immigration from the skies below and looking for pirates, the job feels less glamorous than presented.

Not that everyone had a choice in enlisting, many cadets were 'volunteers' from all walks of life. The starry eyed, the forced, the ambitious all flocked to the cadet training as a way to escape or better their current situations. There even were some of the sun-kissed present, but most of them had an abridged training.

Graduation finished and the grueling task complete you received a short shore-leave to take care of your affairs before meeting with your assigned patrol group for your first official patrol as probationary Ground Patrol members.
