About This Game

Star Frontiers game using the Alpha Dawn and Knight Hawks rules sets, copyright 1982; with modifications and optional rules from the unofficial remastered edition of the rules. Taking a cue from Zebulon's Guide, the game will be set in FY25, 25 years after the end of the Sathar War.

Detailed Description

This is a Science-Fiction action game.  I am offering one of three campaign models, listed below and am also open to other ideas.

1.  On the Run: characters are escaped convicts (whether guilty or wrongfully accused) on the run from the law and trying to make their way through life/clear their names/etc.

1. A.  Characters are escapees from the Sathar clutches trying to make their way back to civilization/the Frontier

2.  A more standard, mostly-sandbox style game of itinerant trouble-shooters.  Could be on contract to a specific firm or completely independent.

3.  Star Force campaign, where characters are members of the UPF Star Force

    I am happy to continue at an even pace, if a little slow. Know anyone interested in SF who wants to join? In the meantime, we are down to Gloob and Tok. Do you guys want to re-roll them? We can stay in this story if you like or reboot, even if we re-roll the characters.

    Gentlemen, I apologize. I tend to go through cycles of mild depression that leaves me unmotivated, and spirals downward with guilt as time passes. With the others gone perhaps we should close this down.

    I have to agree. This game is barely moving once a month and that is way too slow. So I am dropping this one too.

    Okay I'm trimming games that just aren't going anywhere for me right now. I had fun with what we did but I've gotta pull the plug on this one. Have fun all and see you around the weave.

    also known as Dr. K Current Stamina: 30 | Maximum Stamina: 30 | Initiative: +7 Dr. K turns around and checks to make sure that the door behind them did not close and still led to the same room. He also checks to see if any new doors opened. If nothing changed, then he will start carefully searching the walls looking for another secret/hidden door. Whatever that noise is, it is repeating. Lets see if we can find another way out of here.

    With the four of them stopped the sound continues but nothing more happens. Listening intently Dr. K can eventually tell that there is a pattern to the sounds and that they are on some kind of repetitive loop. A polyvox can learn an unknown language with some key phrase inputs and 1-100 hours of listening to the new language.

    Gloob Current Stamina: 60 (Max: 60) Initiative: +6 Quote: "What did the Turkey say to the farmer on Thanksgiving?" "Quack Quack." Gloob clomps along down the hall, slowly though, not wanting to run head long into something dangerous that could have easily been avoided had he been paying attention. Whatever the sound ahead of them is, it sends a shiver over Gloob's epidermis. He might be somewhat crazy, but he's not stupid. Oof, Gloob's also blind :)

    I had a great holiday. So much turkey! I had 3 and a half Thanksgiving Dinners; 1 awesome potluck at work the friday before Thanksgiving week, 1 the day before Thanksgiving at my sister's (amazing smoked turkey), one on Thanksgiving proper (at my buddy's who is a high end professional chef - 'nuff said), then the half (leftovers at my mom's house).

    OOC: Oct 21 in the OOC by mistake. It was an 18, I think. here is another just in case. Int should be v. 60 Tok lets out a sigh as he again hefts his pack and follows the others. "Well, we can hope that if we get eaten by some alien monstrosity that it chokes on us."

    Stamina 35 / 35 "There was already a statue that changed its shape to open a door. I'm willing to bet that noise is a big ass trap," Kayla said as the group paused. She turned the flashlight upward to the ceiling and scanned for anything that seemed like separate architecture--like a slab dropping down.

    The walls inside the passage have the same geometric patterns engraved throughout. The air smells dusty and Tok sneezes from the inhalation. The passage takes an immediate turn and seems to pass beside the previous chamber heading behind it. The hall goes on for some time but the end is within the beam of the flashlights*, what looks like a dead end. Halfway there a sound stops the group in their tracks: it sounds like a combination of baritone gargling with pebbles and someone scratching at a blackboard. Then it stops and starts to repeat. * Flashlight in Alpha Dawn has a 100 m beam. Pretty serious...

By all means Gloob, lead the way and let us see what we find inside. He pulls a light out of his pack and turns it on and readies his electro stunner.

    Stamina 35 / 35 "Oh. Right. Should have seen that coming," Kayla said as the statue locked into place and opened the next door. Slinging her pack over a shoulder, she stepped into the new room to get a peek. Then she started rummaging around to see if she had a light. Seeing she did have one still, Kayla popped it on and started to look around. OOC I've forgotten already. Is this system like Warhammer where you want to roll below? If so, that's a success since I rolled 20, I just was testing out the success function; seems I got it backward.
