Location: The Hyades Cluster The Hyades Cluster is a cluster of stars containing roughly 20 planets on the outer rim of known space containing roughly 20 settled worlds. Sparsely inhabited even during the heyday of the Terran Mandate, the Hyades cluster has seen an increase in traffic in the last several decades due to the amount of arable worlds. 3 corporations currently maintain interests in the Hyades Cluster:

• The Atlas Corporation: a large multi-world spanning company specializing in agriculture and pharmaceuticals.

• The Iwani Zaibatsu: a heavy machine and manufacturing company with a primary focus on shipbuilding while also maintaining multiple weapons and machinery contracts.

• The Magnus Collective: a think-tank with a manufacturing wing, producing some of the most advanced technologies in the settled universe, though their influence and production capabilities are relatively small.

While these corporations are the major players in the Hyades Cluster, the frontier worlds have come together to form a collective trade union in an attempt to gain bargaining rights with the larger corporations, while the Albatross Syndicate currently maintains the greatest influence among the collective criminal underworld of the Hyades Cluster, and deals with the various pirate crews, smugglers, and criminal gangs. Any type of intelligent extraterrestrial life is unknown in the Hyades Cluster, and humans believe themselves alone in the galaxy, or so they think, at any rate… new technologies and weapons that would allow the free territories to fight, and possibly win against any of the larger corporations.

Hook: You were arrested for a crime and sent to the local prison planet. You were minding your own business when you were suddenly picked up by guards brought into a sterile white room and quickly stabbed with a syringe that sent you into unconsciousness. When you wake up, you are sitting handcuffed in a beautiful room that looks right out of a southern plantation, filled with shelves of leather-bound books across from an older fat man in a pristine white suit and bolo tie sitting at a mahogany desk, while guards with stun batons stand behind them. The man is Reginald T. Beauregard, the regional manager for Atlas Corp at the Miskatonic Space Station.
