Mihaly nods at Mandy. "Good thought. He doesn't think there's any other nuglubs around: I already asked about that. And if he saw any monsters that weren't nuglubs, I assume he'd have mentioned that. But he might have seen something else of interest." Mihaly waits for the mother and child to finish hugging. While he waits, he looks between the reunited pair and the skeleton, hoping that Bogdan won't see Dijon and freak out again... and winces when he sees Atma drawing attention to him.

From the last line of the post, I think Ice agrees.

There's a joke early on where a Jewish villager asks his rabbi if there's a proper blessing for the anti-Semitic czar. The rabbi says "may God bless and keep the czar... far away from us."

Mihaly has no idea what a "taig" is, but judging by the way Ian said it, he's pretty sure Ian wasn't supposed to say it. He nods, a little hesitantly. "Thanks." And Mihaly's brain finally catches up to the phrase "praying to the Pope." "We should probably bring the kid back to his parents now. May God bless and keep you," Mihaly says to Ian, idly wondering if either Priela or Ian has seen Fiddler on the Roof. He turns to Bogdan and catches him up to speed.

"Good points. Especially from the... uh... talking gun." Mihaly shakes his head in bemusement. "I guess if today's the day Bogdan learns to fact check everything the adults say, so be it. He was going to have to learn that in a couple of years anyway, if he wanted to be an effective citizen. After all, he's only got about a decade before he's old enough to vote... I think. That's eighteen here, right? I know it is in Hungary." "Well, I'm wandering away from the real point again. Let's just get Bogdan somewhere safe."

Mihaly nods. "Right," he says in English. Mihaly tells Bogdan that they're taking him to meet some of the other people working for the Church, and that the person who told them to do so said there's someone there Bogdan would want to see. He notes that they weren't more specific than that, but that it sounds to him like they're referring to one of Bogdan's parents. "Hey, so, I should probably tell you all now: Bogdan doesn't seem to know much of what's going on. I told him we were looking for a living human being, and trying to talk him into stopping, rather than putting him back in the ground and hoping he stays there this time. It seemed like the least horrible thing I could tell him that would get him to take this situation as seriously as he needs to take it. And apparently it's more than his parents told him." "Uh... maybe we should try to arrange for nobody to use the main target's name in front of the kid, if we want that minor deception to stick long-term?"

Can we all hear the radio, or just Priela? (Also, my last post assumes Mihaly could hear Priela speaking into it; was that accurate?)

"Fae creature, not a demon," Mihaly calls over to Priela in English.

Mihaly hesitates for almost a whole second, torn between wanting to shield Bogdan from the worst of it and wanting to make sure he stays careful. He admits that yes, Bogdan's parents are scared of the man for a reason, and that Bogdan going into the basement every time there's a sound outside is probably a good idea. But he also does his best to assure Bogdan that the Church will find the man and persuade him to repent soon. When Bogdan admits that he's lost, Mihaly sighs and admits that okay, that's bad news. But they have radios that they can call the Church with for help, and he's sure they'll help get Bogdan back home. When Priela's radio goes off, Mihaly calls over in English: "Yeah, we're going to have to call this in. Bogdan here says he's lost. That's not a good situation even under ideal circumstances."

It's cool. I think I've got enough to work with for my next post, so I'll get on that.

That scene only works if Atma speaks Romanian, right? Is that one of Atma's languages?

Mihaly's hinting that they're after a human, rather than a former human. And he's saying that they want to talk him down rather than killing them. (I know I said Mihaly would probably try that given the chance, but it hasn't occurred to him yet that the party might actually be the ones fighting him in the end.)

Wait, I need to clarify something. I thought you said Bogdan's dad didn't tell the kid why he needed to be careful? That's why I gave him the watered down, kid friendly version of what we're doing here; I thought you said he didn't have any idea what was going on or why he needed to be careful. Did I read that wrong? Was I supposed to come away with the idea that the kid didn't tell Mihaly what his father said?

Is anyone else starting to think the dice don't like us?

Mihaly explains that Mandy introduced herself as Mandy, and quickly gives everyone else's names as well. He explains that they're working with the Church, and that there's someone doing bad things in the woods. Mihaly notes that the monster might have been doing bad things with the person they're looking for, but also admits it might have been totally unrelated. Mihaly says that the Church is trying to find the man who does bad things, and intends to explain to him that if he stops doing bad things, God will let him into Heaven one day. Mihaly warns Bogdan that until the Church is finished talking the person down from doing bad things, Bogdan should probably stay inside as much as possible; this monster might not have been working for the man they're hoping to talk to, but they know he has monsters working for him. Mihaly asks Bogdan how far he got from his house, while looking around in the hope that he might see the answer. OOC: Do I have to roll to lie to a child, or can I just do it?
