Lifeblood 9/10 Arcane Points 11/11 Hero Points 4/5 "Walk cautiously, friends," Balathu says grimly over his shoulder. "No doubt treachery lurks behind every corner. For such is the way of Zalut, most wicked of cities." He cautiously turns the corner to the north, peering into the gloom to try to make out any dangers ahead.

Hmm... I hate to say this, but I think I was down 5 LP, not just 2? I got bitten twice, and I was at 8 LP when I saw you roll a 3 on damage. -

Pace 6, Parry 7 (1), Toughness 7 (1), Favour 1 "Ah, thank you, thank you!" Coroebus bows modestly in every direction. "Thank you, thank you, oh, stop, I am only very nearly as unbelievably awesome as I seem!" OOC Hmm... I suggest we take all six drinking buddies, all three experts, and three sailors. -
Lifeblood 5/10 Arcane Points 11/11 Hero Points 4/5 A few mumbled oaths in Sorceric heralds Balathu's reluctant return to the land of the waking. His wounds are burning, his gut is roiling, and his every muscle feels like he's been sat on by a sarkolith. His professional recommendation, as a physician of note, is several months' of bed rest. Small chance of that, he supposes. "Did... did you say Bhanomuzz?" he groans. He grimaces, squeezing his eyes shut. "Then we were right. Bhanomuzz serves my father Nur-Yunna. If he is here, then his master's hand is at work."

Pace 6, Parry 7 (1), Toughness 7 (1), Favour 4 3 Swift as wing-footed Hermes, Coroebus rushes towards the scene and leaps onto a chariot! However, the horses are startled and he loses precious moments trying to convince them to do their equine duty... -

Pace 6, Parry 7 (1), Toughness 7 (1), Favour 3 4 Coroebus disguises himself as best he can with a deep hood and a bulky chiton with a sack of hay tied beneath it. Surely, no one will recognise him as the perfect physical specimen he is if he seems to be sporting a gut! As far as securing a boat to Hybanda, he is forced to hope that Zorus has saved a few more arrow heads than himself... -

Pace 6, Parry 7 (1), Toughness 7 (1), Favour 3 "Er..." says Coroebus, who isn't at all happy with the idea of being thrashed and/or lamed for not hanging on to his physical possessions well enough, especially since those tend to slip between his fingers. Still, there doesn't seem to be any dignified way of admitting as much, so he soldiers on. "The voice said something about a sanctuary of Artemis. We should ask the priests about it, I think." -

Pace 6, Parry 7 (1), Toughness 7 (1), Favour 3 Coroebus is in good cheer since his return. Being able to bring back some news has given him at least a spark of glory, and for a shameless self-promoter, a spark can be kindled into a blaze. Thus, he is spending his arrowheads in a tavern this evening, entertaining a merry company with his tales of adventure. He stops with his brimming cup halfway to his mouth when he hears the distant whistling noise. Something about it is... haunting... -

OOC I'll go with training in Riding/Driving, raising it to a d6. And let's say Fleet-Footed for my Advance - whatever my means of locomotion, I have the need for speed! 8) -

Cool. :) I attack a slorth... but miss, alas. I think my best bet is to try to hold out until one of the heavy hitters has time to come rescue the squishy caster. ^.^; -
OOC: I'm spending a Hero Point to have brought a bottle of antidote to this particular poison. Lifeblood 8/10 Arcane Points 11/11 Hero Points 4/5 Falling back, his wounds stinging with poison, Balathu fumbles in his healer's pouch for a bottle of antidote and downs it quickly. As he does so, he tries to hold the slorths off with his sword, but their sinuous grace lets them evade his blade.

Pace 6, Parry 7 (1), Toughness 7 (1), Favour 0 "Through the application of my virility and manly charms," Coroebus says modestly, "I managed to discover that Miletus is secretly ruled by a sinister (but nubile) sisterhood called the Best of Women. It is they that choose who will become a snakeman, and it may be that the snakemen are entirely their tools. Furthermore, they wield strange powers, able to pluck a man's thought from his mind like olives out of a bowl! It may be that the monsters of legend that good Zorus faced were somehow conjured into being by them - maybe even that they were not real, but only waking dreams inspired by the Best's wiles." -

Er. Was there meant to be a secret in the post you made on March 20? Because it just says that that weird telepathic chick revealed the secret of Miletus, dot dot dot, and then it goes straight to OOC information of my future options. ^.^; -

Lifeblood 10/10 Arcane Points 11/11 Hero Points 5/5 Balathu gives Tikina a grim look as they descend. "Every physician knows that there is always one last thing he can do for a patient, when all else has failed and nothing remains of life but pain," he says quietly. "If that is all we can do, then that is still what we..." He breaks off as the doors slam shut, and draws his sword, staying close to Asara as she retreats towards the bound figure.

Lifeblood 10/10 Arcane Points 11/11 Hero Points 5/5 Balathu gives off something in between a snarl of rage and a moan of anguish. "By all the gods that ever were," he hisses. "It was to never again see a sight like this one that I gave up my home and heritage. But it seems that the past is not so easy to leave behind. Come. We must give what help we may." He starts looking around for a likely spot to make his descent down to the chamber of torment.
