It was quite a bargain, but Zaer shook her head. "I do not leave things to luck, I like to twist fate to my advantage. Or at least to the disadvantage of my foes." she says looking at what should be intimidating to her, but with familiarity she finds comfort. "Besides, your face is the one you deign to present to us. If it is your mask, then it is your face that I see. Your true self is not defined by your mask, but by your actions. I mean, look at myself, I wear many faces, but is by my actions that I am defined." And right now those actions were those of a scared little fox intimidated by the might of an army. OOC

Zaer thought to herself while looking at the larger vessel. Already what she had agreed to travel in was a behemoth to her, yet it was dwarfed by the other vessel, one that had returned with battle scars, even some that had to be...purged... She shuddered and was debating her decision to keep her natural face. She had had a nice night sleep, a decent breakfast, and she thought that she had perhaps did herself an injustice by not eating more as she may nt be eating much. But then, perhaps if she had anything more to eat she may not be able to keep it down. Already the stress of being lifted into the thing twisted her insides. Still, she was with her Drujba, she tried to fortify herself with the strength that they provided. OOC

She was amused by the revelry, but could not help but compare the debauchery to the Jymani celebrations...every night. There certainly would be less debauchery and more revelry, about the same amount of alcohol though, and the dancing was certainly better. But the Jymani began teaching the young to dance at a very early age. The following morning Zaer was up early, but somehow not as early as Dame Crow. Zaer was curious about this, but said nothing, this was just one evening, perhaps she was exited? Zaer would keep an eye on her to make sure that she did not start drifting off to sleep when she should not. She went about her morning routine drawing her Harrow Deck from her belt, not the deck that she uses to throw cards from, but her special deck and began to lay the cards out before her, letting the patterns form in her mind, her spells for the day taking shape. After memorizing her spells, she then had breakfast, a reheated chunk of lamb, some cheese and bread and a very weak wine, perhaps just some juice that was on the verge of becoming alcoholic. She was tempted to take a hunk of bread with her, but decided that it would be bad form. As they left and Moxi started telling them her story, Zaer wondered how she slept outside of her van, but commented. "After watching you eat last night, I think I will be keeping my pillow away from you my Drujba." OOC

"Truthfully, Father Fitzpatrick knows my schedule, and I have learned that I have a tendency to get a call from him..." having finally getting signal Johan's phone notifications blew up. Notifications for text and voicemails began buzzing his phone in one constant barrage of notifications. Johan looked at his phone with a bit of concern and started looking through the texts and voice to texts. Most of which were calls to call him or SOS. "This does seem more excessive than normal. One moment." Johan said turning a bit toward the alleyway. "Hello Father...Yeah I am close...Shouldn't be but...Yeah, I...I will be right there." Johan looks back over to Daemon. "Sorry, the Church helped me out of that tight bind and flight and I feel some obligation to them, and Father Fitzpatrick, my contact, sometimes has needs that reach beyond official channels." Johan has a look of concern, "Seems like someone is being hunted or something, this seems like something that I need to talk to the good Father in person. I am sorry, I have got to go..." Johan took a few steps then thought for a moment, who was he with right then and an idea formed in his mind...an evil idea, well not evil, but the Grinch in him grew a large smile and he stopped and turned back to Daemon. Once settled, a mere moment later, Johan walked out of the alley. "Well met Daemon, I spotted your truck and figured I would say hi." OOC Hide this

The city from above was always better. The smell of the alleyways was distant, the addicts just one of the people on a city bench, or behind a dumpster, the cars stopped at traffic lights waiting for a fire truck to pass just bugs on the road. From the high-rises Johan enjoyed the quiet and lowered level of chaotic noise from the streets below. Johan stretched his wings and hopped off the window ledge and extended his wings and caught the eddy coming off the building and hung for a moment in the air before he began to drift between buildings. Eventually he spotted what he now recognized as Daemon's truck. More out of curiosity than anything else, Johan came down and landed on the side of the truck bed, looking back and forth waiting to see if the infamous monster hunter would be back soon.
