  1. It is. The Grave. Well done. :-)
  2. Looking at the track listings, along with the lyrics, I would say that there are only 2 that might fit.
  3. What, all of the lyrics?!! :D --- It is Don McLean, well done. :) It's on the American Pie album.
  4. When the wars of our nation did beckon A man barely twenty did answer the calling Proud of the trust that he placed in our nation He's gone But Eternity knows him, and it knows what we've done
  5. The second part of the same verse: And deep in the trench He waited for hours As he held to his rifle And prayed not to die
  6. Don't You Worry, Child, by Swedish House Mafia/John Martin (I looked it up). It was "Up on a hill across the blue lake" that was the key for me. --- A change of pace: And the rain fell like pearls On the leaves of the flowers Leaving brown, muddy clay Where the earth had been dry
  7. This is another that I know part of the answer to. It took me about 20 minutes of whistling the tune to myself to get it, and, if the next line is the title, I know the title, and I can confirm that the group is nothing like the others listed...however, as for the name of that group... --- For some reason, I couldn't get Children of the Damned out of my mind, although I knew it wasn't that.
  8. I know this. I know the band. I know the album. And I know it's very popular with "Vocal coach reacts"-type analysis on YT... Can I remember the title? Absolutely not!!
  9.    Methinks RT owes me an apology!! 😛 @Civit Which tour was that - Resist? I saw them in Manchester on their Unforgiving tour (2014, says Wiki). Sadly, I didn't get that close!!
  10. Geddoff, I saw her first!! 😛 Somewhere 🥰 on Youtube.
  11. Europe, but not Denmark/Scandinavia, and, as Inash says, symphonic metal. Probably one of the better known.
  12. Lost in the darkness Hoping for a sign Instead there's only silence Can't you hear my screams?   Never stop hoping Need to know where you are But one thing's for sure You're always in my heart
  13. I'm old, too, and yet... 🙂 Apparently, it featured in an advert for something, although I never saw it, so I thought that, even if you'd not heard (of) the band, you may have heard the song. Seems like people have given up/aren't bothered/have cheated soooo...what now? Whaddoo I win? Cash?! A car?! Bully's Special Prize??!!   🙂
  14. It's a cruel, cruel world, to face on your own, A [song name], to carry along, The lights are on, but everyone's gone, And it's cruel.
  15. The line you quoted gives a big hint! 🙂
  16. Stop chitchatting and get on with the quiz! 😛
  17. WRONG!! Sorry, no points for you. I mean, it's not even Mad World, so even had you said the original you'd be just as wrong as Mr. Wrong in Wrongsville, pop. 1 2!! 😛
  18. I'm taking a chance here, because I don't know how well-known the band is, but I also know that you don't have to know the band to have heard the song, so it might be very easy, or very not-easy. Confused? I know I am! Awww, here it goes... I trust you, if it's already been done, undo it, It takes two, it's up to me and you, to prove it, All the rainy nights, even the coldest days, you're moments ago, but seconds away, The principal of nature, it's true but, it's a cruel world.
  19. If you're into rock/metal, then they're definitely worth a listen, especially the earlier stuff. The singer - Geoff Tate - had a huge range. I think that most people would say that Operation Mindcrime 1 is one of the best albums that they did. Empire was a bit too polished for me.
  20. I've just had a look at the OM1 album cover and the one that fits is Breaking The Silence.
  21. That's Queensryche, but I coul;dn't tell you the title nor the album (if I had to guess, it'd be OM1).
