  1. When the wars of our nation did beckon
A man barely twenty did answer the calling
Proud of the trust that he placed in our nation
    He's gone
But Eternity knows him, and it knows what we've done

This feels like a 70s song, back in the heyday of the singer/storyteller/songwriter like Cats in the Cradle or Bye-Bye Miss American Pie.

    Extremely warm. :)

  3. This is another that I know part of the answer to. It took me about 20 minutes of whistling the tune to myself to get it, and, if the next line is the title, I know the title, and I can confirm that the group is nothing like the others listed...however, as for the name of that group...

For some reason, I couldn't get Children of the Damned out of my mind, although I knew it wasn't that.

  4. Lost in the darkness
    Hoping for a sign
    Instead there's only silence
    Can't you hear my screams?

    Never stop hoping
Need to know where you are
    But one thing's for sure
    You're always in my heart

  5. I'm taking a chance here, because I don't know how well-known the band is, but I also know that you don't have to know the band to have heard the song, so it might be very easy, or very not-easy. Confused? I know I am!

    Awww, here it goes...

I trust you, if it's already been done, undo it,
It takes two, it's up to me and you, to prove it,
All the rainy nights, even the coldest days, you're moments ago, but seconds away,
The principal of nature, it's true but, it's a cruel world.

  6. If you're into rock/metal, then they're definitely worth a listen, especially the earlier stuff. The singer - Geoff Tate - had a huge range. I think that most people would say that Operation Mindcrime 1 is one of the best albums that they did. Empire was a bit too polished for me.
