Honestly though, with the amount of time the Culinary Traditions take I don't foresee anyone using Culinary Combos, it sounds like a lot of work to get a slim chance to get a head start in combat (I use Spheres to get AWAY from Vancian casting like Charged Spells). It might be useful for the initial casts of the day, but unless we get signposted pre-battle buffing periods every battle I don't really see it happening more than that.
Depending on the Tradition, there's a few ways to get around some of the issues, thanks to the Drawback Feats.
Prepared Diagram helps with the Diagram Casting drawback, which is good if you have one sphere you specifically use in combat (or more, if you're willing to spend the feats). No idea how to fluff it yet, but I'm sure some sort of cooking tool might do the trick there.
Charged Casting has a few options that let you recharge things much faster (plus it helps that you only need like 10-20 minutes to reset your charges, which is a lot more flexible compared to prepared casting).
Not much we can do about extended casting, thou... that might be better suited for self-buffers.

Okay, so I'm trying to wrap my head around the casting traditions that this campaign is using. I think examples will help me get what I'm trying to do.
So one of the ideas I have, besides the classic 'apply pointy bits to monster' is Fire-based magic. As is, my idea is that my fire magic uses one of those wand lighters. Also a bit of earth magic (mainly to create stoneware cooking prisons - i'll use incanter (flamekindler) to make Nature: Sandstone to make it deal fire damage), and maybe something to 'smoke' enemies (maybe some of the Fog effects in nature sphere?). Trying to figure out a way to summon a bunch of shish-kabob spikes to rain from the air, too, although that might end up be just using barrage with a repeating crossbow or something LOL.
My thoughts were that most of my magic is Utensil based, with a bit based on Gifts from class features, and maybe whatever self-buffs I sort out as Culinary based. I'm assuming that I'll have two traditions: one for the buffs (likely the I made this Earlier one?), and one based on Utensils (would that start off as Recipe Master then build off from there?).
Thoughts? Comments? Am I on the right track here?

So I noticed this the other day, but tested it properly this morning, and it's a pet-peeve kinda issue:
If you click this link
It brings you to OG MW sheets page
But if you click this Sheets button:
It brings you to the Baldr Sheets page
Obviously, this is not a priority concern since it's the same listing either way, but it would be nice if they were consistent.
Thanks!

Yuu Hoshino
The Battle Bartender
Appearance
Standing at 6'1" with a lithe build and covered in faded battle scars, Yuu is a testament of battle chefs everywhere that anyone can cook, or mix drinks. She puts up her vibrantly bold red hair into a high ponytail, to keep it out of the way her equally bright eyes. Because of her more handsome features, it's not unusual for people to mistake her for a man, and her actions rarely
As a bartender, Yuu tends to wear elegant, but simple long-sleeve shirt, slacks, and a vest.
Personality
A fearless combatant, a bold caster, a skilled commander, and a cocky as all get-out bartender. She had no qualms with throwing hands when the brawl starts, but prefers to disarm things either with words or magic. Nothing says 'get out of my bar' quite like the floor moving under you...
History
Yuuko wasn't always the battle-hardened bartender she has become. She grew up on the mean streets of nowhere. But like many combat chefs with her background, she prayed to the gods of cooking to feed her, and clawed her way to survive. As she grew, she discovered a talent for earth and fire magic, and for making drinks. She would take up odd-jobs around the various bars in her home town, from bussing tables to filling in for sick employees
As time went on, Yuu went on adventures to discover new concoctions, which typically took the role of slaying monsters for their ingredients. Some of these adventures were divinely mandated, others were just jobs she took up from the Guild of Cooks. While never a fancy bartender, she earned a good amount of fame thanks to the many kinds of drinks she'd whip up at the hole-in-the-wall taverns and inns.
While she'd never be welcome at the more fanciful restaurants and bars, Yuuko was happy with how her life turned out. But when the chance to strike at Cuisine Mountain arrived, she leapt at that chance...

Yu Hoshino
The Combat Griller
Appearance
Standing at 6'1" with a powerful build and covered in faded battle scars, Yu is a testament of battle chefs everywhere that anyone can cook. She puts up her vibrantly bright red hair into a tight bun, to keep it out of the way her equally bright eyes.
Because of her innate traits, as well as her gifts, Yu rarely bothers with armor, favoring her own powers to protect her from harm. She prefers more loose-fitting, ease of mobility clothing, and items that help her stay cool despite the heat of her grilling.
Personality
Some would call Yu fearless, but most would say she's overconfident and cocky. But her skills in grilling meats has been remarked as superb, as are her monster hunting skills.
History
The ifrit known as Yuuko wasn't always the battle-crazed griller she has become. She, like many ifrits unaware of their heritage, grew up on the mean streets of nowhere. But like many combat chefs with her background, she prayed to the gods of cooking to feed her, and clawed her way to survive. As she grew, she discovered a talent for fire magic, and for cooking things over open flames. The two went hand-in-hand, and she slowly figured out her own style of fighting and cooking.
As time went on, Yu went on adventures to find new things to cook, which typically took the role of slaying monsters. Some of these adventures were divinely mandated, others were just jobs she took up from the Guild of Cooks. While never a fancy chef, the ifrit obtained a good amount of fame thanks to her street stall cooking methods. There were occasions where folks would travel to festivals she was cooking at, leading to a small following of fans.
While she'd never be welcome at the more fanciful restraunts, Yuuko was happy with how her life turned out. But when the chance to strike at Cuisine Mountain arrived, she leapt at that chance, spear and cleaver in hand...

Pre-Game OOC
in OOC
This is a game concept that is just ripe for terribly delicious puns. 🤣

I feel like there should be a way to hack the Blog stuff into working akin to a wiki-like thing - allowing approved users access rights to edit and update. Or maybe one of the other features instead.

Hello everyone.
I'm Matthias, 35 years old from North-Eastern Italy. I've been into TTRPGs since 2002, I play mostly d20 System games (Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder), but I've also tried other rulesets during the years. I like PbP, starter some years ago on Paizo's messageboards and now I'm trying to get back into the gaming world after a brief hiatus. I mostly play fantasy games, sometimes horror ones (especially gothic horror), while sci-fi and modern settings are usually not my flick.
Welcome to the Weave, Diaz. There's a demand for pretty much everything here, so you should be able to find groups to join up with.
Anyhow, in case you haven't seen it yet, here's a link to our New to Play by Post thread and our Baldr User Guide, which contains several handy links that you will likely find useful. We do things a touch differently than some other sites, where we have game ads posted and prospective players apply. You'll want to swing over by our Games and Ads section to check that out! Every GM does it a little differently, so check the campaign info and forum for the exact details.
We support a very wide variety of systems here, ranging from good ol D&D (of all editions) to Pathfinder to Shadowrun to Fate to PbtA to OSR to, well, I don't think there's a system we don't support or have players for. So if you spot something outside of your norm that catches your attention - go ahead and apply for it anyways. There is much to be gained by going outside of the box, after all.
Also, I recommend getting chatty through out the forums or even dropping by our Discord Channel, especially if you have questions. Just watch out for those welcoming harpoons - they're harmless... mostly 😂
If you have any questions, let us know! Don't be afraid to ask, either - we do our best to help people out.

And that random bit there is why I re-wrote my boilerplate welcome text for Baldr... the old OOC tags don't transfer cleanly LOL
That said, the revised text may need another pass.
Anyhow, welcome to the Weave, @mirrorlocked! I hope you can find some games that interest you.

Sandstone: Instantaneous. You may spend a spell point to transform dirt or sand into stone in an area within range. The size of the created rock or stone depends both on your caster level and the radius of dirt or sand you target. Alternatively, you may encase a dirt or sand covered target in 1 inch thick stone. Refer to Table: Sandstone to determine the maximum target size to be encased. For every size smaller the encased target is than the required radius of dirt or sand, either double the thickness of the stone or increase the number of encased targets. Creatures and objects are allowed a Reflex save to avoid being trapped in stone. On a failure, creatures or objects caught in the area are encased; to escape, they must succeed at an Escape Artist or Strength check (equal to your Bury geomancing DC) as a full-round action; alternatively, a creature may break free by dealing sufficient damage to the rock or stone.
Stone has a hardness of 15 and 2 hit points per inch. On a successful save, affected targets are still entangled and immobilized until they escape or 1 minute per caster level, whichever comes first.
(Note: because of Nature Lord, Yukito can affect one size larger, thus his maximum is Colossal +)

I mean, I'd play something other than D&D 5e if I wanted that. Savage Worlds already has a supplement to handle Pathfinder's setting and style, and isn't tied to classes as much.
To be fair, there have been attempts to make D&D/D&D-likes more point-buy-like. Most of them have ended up as a massive cludgy mess, IMO, and frankly I'd rather just set the thing on fire. But I'm exceedly harsh about the billions of 5e hacks that exist, so take that with a grain of salt.

Free: Swear under breath while being Shaken
Move 1: Fly Up 20' and a few squares away. Acrobatics Check to avoid AoOs is 39

Move 2: Sheath Sword
Standard: Iai Slash + Vacuum Cut 2 vs Death Tyrant. This includes Chi Gong (cold), Spell Attack (Numbing Blast, 1 SP spent to increase damage dice to CL), Ki Convergence (Freeze: see below, another 2 SP) and Bleed Effects
Improved Avatism (Animal) attack optional will be [tear], dealing 15 bleed along with the duelist bleed. He also spends 1 Martial Focus to apply Perforating Wounds [bleed] per Greater Iai to dish out additional bleed damage. Bleed damage will hit regardless, as Yukito has Ooze Ichor/Essence Manipulation (which also helps with the Freeze effect coming up)
Rolls: (copied from dice thread for easy reference)
Attack Action vs Death Tyrant (52, shaken applied) (this applies Study Target bonus of +4; if Scout was successful, reduce target AC by 4 for 7 rounds, per Scout: Find the Gap)
Weapon Damage (32) + Blast Vessel (cold) (2) + Chi Gong (cold) (16) + Full Power Numbing Blast (42) + 27 bleedImmediate: Ki Convergent Power to inflict Freeze (per Nature water package) on the Death Tyrant. Numbing Blast will reduce its Reflex save by 2, and must make a Reflex save DC 45. This will coat the target in 5 inches of ice, which will deal 5 cold damage per round. It will take a DC 20 Strength or Escape Artist check to get out. This will last days if it doesn't break out, or gets broken out.
If it saves, it'll be entangled for 1 round (ice slows it down)
Additional: Yukito also lashes out and dishes out Duelist Bleed to the Zyclopses within the 'aura' range on the map (60'). This attack uses the same attack roll as above, but only deals 6 bleed. This consumes 7 of Yuki's AoOs for the round.
Conditional AoO: shield block +5 AC + Redirecting Shield. Up to 13 times a round. Priority of Shield Blocks will go towards the Death Tyrant, if in question.
Helpful Reminders: Yukito is immune to Death, Petrification, and Polymorph effects. Furthermore, he has a 50% miss chance thanks to Ablating Aegis (which reduces 5% per forced miss, please let me know for my own notes), as well as a 40% chance to Reflect Rays thanks to Ray Deflection Aegis.
Also Yukito will only be shaken this round, as he only fell short of the save DC by 1.

Ability References
I know how annoying it is to look up everything, so I'll try to copy+paste reference notes as I feel is necessary
Iai Slash (bleed) [CrimDan]
Whenever you deal bleed damage to a creature in the same round you drew the weapon used to deal that damage, you may expend any amount of attacks of opportunity as a free action to compare the same attack roll against the AC (or your maneuver check against their disarm CMD) of a different enemy within reach for each attack of opportunity. If your attack roll is greater than a creature’s AC, you quickly strike that creature and cause them to suffer from your blooded strike (this does not allow you to apply additional (bleed) talents).
Additionally, whenever you deal bleed damage to a creature already suffering from your blooded strike, or an enemy suffering from your blooded strike’s bleed is reduced to 0 or fewer hit points, you may sheathe your weapon as a free action.
Perforating Wounds (bleed) [CrimDan]
Whenever you deal bleed damage as part of an attack action to a creature who is already suffering bleed damage from your blooded strike, you deal an amount of bleed damage equal to 1 + 1 for every 3 points of base attack bonus you possess. This bleed damage stacks with other bleed damage granted by the Duelist sphere. You can stack this bleed damage with itself once for every 6 points of base attack bonus you possess. This bleed damage is separate from your blooded strike, and does not affect other abilities that scale off of your blooded strike’s bleed damage.
Vacuum Cut [CrimDan]
Whenever you use the attack action to make a melee attack in the same round you draw a sheathed weapon, you may target a creature within close range (25 feet + 5 feet per 2 base attack bonus), provoking attacks of opportunity as though using a ranged attack.
Using this talent reduces the damage die of the weapon being used with this talent by 1 step, and the attack made with this weapon is treated as a projectile for the purposes of being able to be blocked or deflected by effects. This attack is treated as a melee attack for all other purposes (and may not be used with talents or abilities which would only affect ranged attacks) except for the target of the attack. At +5 base attack bonus, using this talent no longer provokes attacks of opportunity. At +10 base attack bonus, attacks made with this talent no longer have their damage die reduced.
You may take Vacuum Cut a second time. If you do, when utilizing another Duelist sphere talent that targets creatures within your reach (such as Iai Slash and Hurricane Strike, but not talents that merely grant you an attack such as Swift Slice), you may instead use the range of Vacuum Cut in place of your reach for the purpose of those talents.
Great Iaijutsu [CrimDan]
Benefit: When utilizing your Iai Slash talent, you may expend your martial focus to additionally apply the effects of one (bleed) talent other than Iai Slash to a single creature struck as part of the talent. If you have more than one martial focus, you may expend two martial focuses to instead apply that (bleed) talent to all creatures struck.
Ki Convergent [EO3]
The sage becomes attuned to a single elemental focus, and can draw upon the essence of nature around him to infuse his chi gong with the elements. The sage gains the Nature sphere as a bonus talent. Whenever the sage would use his chi gong ability, he may change the damage dealt from piercing damage to a damage type associated with a Nature package he possesses, chosen at the time of using the ability.Whenever the sage deals damage to a creature using his chi gong ability, he can forgo half the damage dice of the ability and spend 1 ki point as an immediate action to call upon nature. The creature is affected by the Create Fire, Entangle, Freeze, Gust Of Wind, Magnetize, or Tremor geomancing sphere ability for 1 round (if a concentration effect), as long as he possesses the ability. The chosen sphere ability only affects the damaged creature and the square(s) they occupy.
Freeze:
Instantaneous, requires water. You may spend a spell point to flash freeze water, turning it into ice. You may freeze a 1 inch thick, 5-foot-by-5-foot square of water per caster level. Alternatively, you may cover a wet Medium-sized creature with 1 inch of ice per caster level. You may increase the size of the frozen area or size/number of the frozen creatures, but divide the ice’s thickness by the equivalent number of Medium-sized creatures.
Creatures smaller than Medium count as Medium-sized creatures for this effect, with the exception of multiple creatures occupying the same space. Add the sizes of multiple creatures occupying the same space together when determining their size for this purpose. For swarms, count each 5-foot square as being 2 Medium-sized creatures occupying the same space. You may affect both squares and creatures, but all affected targets and spaces must be contiguous and must have the same thickness of ice.
[OOC: I did the math already, above - it's 5 inches of ice]
Creatures are allowed a Reflex save to avoid being frozen. On a failure, they are encased and cannot move, and suffer 1 point of cold damage per round per inch of ice. To escape, they must succeed at a Strength check or Escape Artist check as a full-round action to escape the ice (DC 15 +1 per inch of thickness) or another creature must break the ice around the trapped creature (3 hit points per inch). While encased, a target can only take mental or verbal actions, or attempt to escape. Being encased in ice blocks line of effect, but not line of sight (the creature may still be targeted, but effects that deal damage to the target must break through the ice first before dealing damage to the target). On a successful save, the target is still entangled for 1 round. Ice melts 1 inch of thickness per minute on the average day.

The blast vessel enhancement on his weapon is set to Numbing Blast (dealing 1d6 cold, and applies a -2 penalty to reflex saves)
Improved Avatism (Animal) attack optional will be [tear], dealing 15 bleed along with the duelist bleed. Pouncing Teleport
You may spend a spell point or increase your teleport casting time by one step in order to make a single attack after successfully teleporting yourself. You may also spend an additional spell point to make either a full attack or take an attack action instead of a single attack after successfully teleporting. You may not use this talent in conjunction with any abilities or conditions that reduce the action needed to teleport (such as Emergency Teleport or Quick Teleport).

Yukito Nanaya
The Wandering Demon Slayer
A beholder hive mother - now that's a significant target. It had been a very long time since Yukito had to deal with something of that scale. Maybe not since the days he hunted monsters in his homeland. And back then, the slayer would've been a bit excited to slay such a creature. Yet the Yukito of today was less enthusiastic about such targets.
As the captain tossed him the sword, Yukito caught it with one hand, then held it with two and bowed, as though accepting an offering. He knew that the captain didn't care about such procedures, but it held meaning to his goddess, Amaterasu. "Thank you." He felt the blade affecting his own mystical barriers as the ki aura that was infused around him draining ever so slightly faster than normal. "I could've used a blade like this ages ago. I can see why it was such a closely kept secret..."
Nullsteel - it reminded him of the legendary Kaiu Swords that the Demon Slayers used. Although the rare tamahagane was only a component to their special steel alloy, it was incredibly effective in purging evil. His own ancestral blade, Nanatsu Yoru, was one such blades, and owning one was a great honor.
"So, two to three weeks to complete the job. Kill the beholder hive mother, and any other beholders in our way. And not even a lot of time to prepare. Not exactly a a great time table to work with, but what can you do?" Yukito shrugged, reaching for his stash of cigarettes, then thinking better of it. "What else can you tell us about the island, and the cyclops that reside there? I'm guessing you prefer they stay alive if possible?"
Beholders had charming magics - most folks knew this. The slayer had to assume that the isle's residents were now under the beholders' control, and they are not easy creatures to take down without harming them, either. Yuki had to hope that his new cohorts had magicks that could combat that issue, because he certainly did not.... But his train of thought revealed a solid point: these nullsteel weapons could dispel magic - that would include charm effects. These weapons could even combat possession, when used correctly.

Math to show my work
Standard AC:
69= 10 base + 7 armor +5 shield + 15 DEX + 18 sage AC (15 from WIS, 3 from lvl) + 3 dodge (foreshadow) 4 Natural + 3 Deflection +4 Precog
Nova AC:
77 = 10 base + 7 armor +5 shield + 20 DEX (+10 dex score from sage enhance) + 18 sage AC (15 from WIS, 3 from lvl) + 6 dodge (foreshadow + haste) 4 Natural + 3 Deflection +4 PrecogMore coming soon as needed

@Arklytte - While I still have some crunchy bits to sort out (casting tradition, shopping, maybe a few talents, and of course the AMF version of the sheet), the fluff is complete. Was gonna snag a familiar, but it ended up not feeling right for this character after all.

That is nice - wonder if the Myth-Weavers devs even know about that - because I'm note sure I've seen that in any of the BALDR guides. The CTRL-Right Click is certainly not something someone is likely to stumble upon.
The devs know - I've seen folks mention it in the MW discord. It may not have made it to the new user guide yet or maybe it's just buried in there. Worth noting that the guid is written by someone different than the dev team. I'll bring it up, just in case it's something that has been missed.
Also, I've seen a tool-tip pop up from time to time while I'm fiddling with things, although it may not show up in all browsers.
EDIT: confirmed that the context menu (aka ctrl+right click) is in the new user guide

Actually, there's a very simple way of getting floatleft and floatright going for images: if you're on desktop, ctrl+right click the image which brings up a small selection of options (you'll want 'edit image' here) or double tap on mobile, and it brings up a window, which let's you resize and set alignment of the image. If you pick left or right, it'll snap to that side and wrap text around it. Much cleaner method, IMO, and it looks decent on mobile too.
This also applies to other options within baldr, including tables and fieldsets.

Okay, I need to say this - WE CAN CHANGE OUR OWN THREAD TITLES FINALLY!!
I knew that was a minor hiccup in OGMW, but thank chaos we can do that without some form of mod power now.

Yukito Nanaya
Demon Slayer
Yukito strode through the lodge's front door without any degree of fanfare, carrying the smell of smoked tobacco with him and small golden serpentine dragon sleeping on around the back of his neck. He made his way to the bar with no concern or rush, as though it was just another day going to his favorite tavern after a long day of work. The slayer took a seat, and with only a simple gesture, ordered himself a mug of beer.
As he waited for the hobgoblin bartender to get his drink, Yukito reached into his vest pocket and pulled out a slim, finely detailed metal case. Opening it revealed several hand-rolled cigarettes. He began to pull one out, but Blackmoon's arrival with his beer and a very stern look forced him to snap the case closed with a sigh.
It wasn't like Yukito got anything out of smoking. Or even drinking. He didn't need food or water anymore, and was immune to the effects of alcohol and drugs - the result of his continuous training of his ki. But old habits die hard, as there was something comforting about having a smoke, or the taste of a cold beer after a long journey. His goddess didn't seem to care much, either, so Yukito opted to enjoy the small things regardless.
He overheard the gnoll speaking a few seats down about the call to all the big hitters. The slayer had seen him, as well as the other top hunters that had appeared. "Now this is certainly a collection of characters. I knew the master called for many big hitters, but some have literally come out of the woodwork for this." Yuki gestured to the ghost floating around before taking a sip of his beer. "This must be pretty serious. Figured only a small team would be rounded up and sent in to investigate. Unless Steelstaff is looking to start a war against the beholders." A smirk grew on his face.

So with the Dice Tower Update, all Fieldset borders seem to disappear. WTF?
That is weird. If you haven't already, say something over in the Site Feedback section.
That applies to everyone else for any other weird bugs that crop up - Baldr is a beta product, and the more we test it and give feedback, be it about how features feel or bugs or whatever it is, the better it will be in the long haul. Hell, I recommend hitting up the MW discord and joining the beta test talk. You can make a difference, even with zero coding experience.

I got some finalizing left to do, but the great bulk of things have been built up and fluff written. Consider this one done and ready to roll.
