  1. Trying to see how it works. A cute little vid for my favorite MLP enjoyers here ๐Ÿ˜
  2. Don't get me wrong, I have stories of COMPETENT lawyers to share. Second-handed ones but still. I'm not speaking in term of skills. But my ex-gf for exemple had to deal with a few incomptent/vulture ones against her parents. And I hear other stories that disgusted me too but that's aother story. In short, I wish i could ask an "Alexa" what are the local law for X and answer me. Or find me what are the documents I would need to fullfill to fix X situation. That kind of stuff. I understand that mediation, being in court and so forth need a real lawyer but I wish we could get assistance with a touch on my phone.
  3. No, only second-hand stories actually. And I'm very happy about not having to deal with those vultures. I'm sure idealistically that their must be well-meaning lawyers out there but... I have yet to meet one or hear stories about one. Corruption is everywhere and I just see them as part of it. And besides, lawyers are teached to forget your principles if you want to have cases, especially if you want to defend people who are obviously guilty.
  4. Darn... cause to me, if there is one profession I REALLY wish would be render less relevant, it would be lawyers. I still wish all state laws (or at least the most common ones) would be compiled into an phone app for when you need lawful advices. Like, all the rules for housing, traffic, if you enter a construction zone, etc.
  5. And I swear people are too chickens to create a law app. It would make lawyers a lot less relevant and Im curious how a AI lawyer would fare.
  6. He answer him as he climb the wagon, in a acid cold tone: " I never said his widow LIVED in Honeywell, I said she happens to be there. You're not listening and you seem very forgetful... Like how you "forgot" to bring the medical mallet that I saw behind you in your caravan when I climb on it. You said it's the lack of ressources that made you unable to save him, yet you didn't bring any more then the strict minimum. You are getting old, cruel and scattered minded, not good for a doctor. Farewell! " He had not said anything before but after his comment about not trusting snakes, he wanted to sting the old rabbit where it hurt. He knew exactly how much the rabbit had travelled light and that he had only used ressources he had on his person to make the run there. Sure he did his best once there, with the ressources he brought with him... but it's clear he kept a lot of stuff for the travel ahead. At first, Slithers wouldnt have said anything... but the old fool had to open his mouth. To Sadukan: " That's where his wife is isn't it? That otter? You know your way around, I don't. Please lead us. "
  7. YEEEEESSS !!! I CREATED LOOOOOOORE *scream that with MattPatt voice* ๐Ÿ˜ Then... let's polish it! (only if nobody minds lol) The Hippos arrived by ships with a flock of Oxpecker in the Woodlands. Exotics birds, not native to the Woodlands. They got lost and needed to refill their supplies before leaving. In those times, there were a lot of quacks in the Woodlands and a lot of misconception and religious rites linked to medicine. When they saw how bad it was for the Woodlands, they created the first pharmacy/medicine school in the Woodlands. Their was very few students and most of them Eeyries. The hippos only stayed a few months though but those months were life changing for the Woodlands. The Hippos never returned (having offended the Lizard Cultists who were trying to made them think that praying would be the best medicine) but their values were maintained in honor of all the good they did for the Woodlands. Dental Hygene was also part of the thing they teached the non-Eerye as thanks for their services. The Hyppocratic Oath became universal and a requirement for all those who wanted to learn medicine, in honor of those benevolent giant who had being so kind to them and who's teaching saved so many lives. They became a legend of benevolence for all critters in the Woodlands. EDIT: Would you like if we had a seperate thread for the times we wanna chat about our general life? Like the shows we watched, what is going on in our personnal life, etc ?
  8. Slithers snark to the doctor: " You fullfilled the Hippocratic Oath you swore on, which in legends, is named after the benevolent hippos that brought the original teaching of medicine into the Woodlands. A life is a life and I assure you that otter was morally better than you give it credit for. If you want a tip, you'll need to ask his now widow who happens to be in Honeywells, the place you are fleeing AND the place that is probably going to be razed to the ground by bandits. And announce her you couldn't save her husband. Is it all worth it to you? " No, of course it wasn't. He bring back the doctor to his caravan: " This fullfill my duties to you. I wish you safety and good luck on your travel. You'll need it as those roads are filled with bandits. Luckily for you, they are probably razing Honeywells now, leaving you guys some time. Farewell! " To his group, in a more hushed tone: " Let's find that fox. If his background is what I think it is, he is probably filling his pockets somewhere. We can start looking at the places with the most valuables that aren't in flames. " Edit: (I know I'm creating lore a bit, for the part about the Hippocratic Oath (which is the name of the real oath doctors have to take). I just thought it was hilarious and showing Slithers scholar background but I can remove that part if needed LOL)
  9. ... considering how that chicken burned the school/printery, Slithers will probably have a few choice words to tell that chicken. Considering his scholar "background", he is going to be pissed. it's not going to fly with Slithers... not that a chicken can fly anyway. Im fully prepared to lower my reputation will the Eerye.
  10. Blame Ripley then. And that chicken. If Ripley feels bad, he can use his new army to unroot the chicken army and then try to set the Woodland Alliance in Honeywell. It would fit the group decision early in the game.
  11. Well, if any historians ask, we can just say that someone will defend their life or the ones they want to protect with all they have. Hard to use a subtle, diplomatic solution when your life is at risk.
  12. Is Mcnugget captain still at the hospital? Otherwise, maybe raiding his tree would be the best place to go, since he left it unguarded. Get the tribute he has being accumulating in it. Unfortunately, he set the Printery on fire. It will be harder to get the treasure inside unless we extinguish it. So I suggest we go to his tree and give him the same treatement he has being doing to the rest of the clearing first. (the 7 on the map)
  13. Unfortunately, we might not have the time to rest. I suggest we do something according to our Nature to refill our energy instead? For exemple, Arsonist Nature:Clear your exhaustion track when you use needlessly destructive or damaging methods to solve a problem That's Ripley nature. Killing the Cat Magistrate guy and setting the town in fire should count toward that and have cleared up his exhaustion track right?
  14. Those vagabonds had previouse connections, and have easily turned into a group and have explored the hut. They have found few decaying objects and utensils. Hoop has almost burnt the hut down while trying to light it with her tinkering and they have found a grimm sight- skeletons of family of lizards who seemed to be having dinner many moons ago, alongside skeletons of two Eyrie soldiers. The group have found a trinket- a glass amulet that looked like a reptilian eye. Thumper had an invitation for a a family emergency meeting he was late to by few days.
  15. - Get treasure from Cat Magistrate place - Get treasure from Eeyrie place (and trample on Mcklukken dead body for it) - Flee toward the closest clearing afterward to exchange treasure for money - Profits? ====== That's pretty much what I had in mind.
  16. Well fortunately for me, I still have one in my own background. I'm a vagabond because of "complicated reasons" and that I hope to be able to get back home permanently one day. I doubt life will be that easy for poor Slithers though but his lover is working really hard in the background to make it happen LOL Life is cheap as a vagabond anyway. And Honeywell climate was explosive before we arrived. We just fired up the fuse lol! Hopefully, next time, we will try more diplomatic solutions if we can By the way, what happened to the bauble with the lizard eye on it?
  17. Woooow... The Chronicles make our group sound so evil O_O If I understood correctly, we exchanged the money we got from the treasure to this vouch that we gave to that rabbit family so they could repay their debts right? So we are as destute as the beginning of the game. Now, we need to get the treasure from the Cat Magistrate AND that evil chicken tyrant who think literaccy is a crime.
  18. Oooh sounds like we are going to get some fried chicken Mcnuggets next with an Happy Meal for the free Treasure ๐Ÿ˜
  19. I think Ripley kinda forgot about the dying otter though. He had ran into town to save him and then got sidetracked. I'm guessing it's an ADHD moment LOL ๐Ÿ˜œ We didnt even raid the Cat Magistrate house though! We still need to do that! The treasure inside would boost me and Hoop drive !! O_O EDIT: I'll edit my message and roleplay it as that we need to find Ripley then and warn him he can stop searching for a doctor. Seem like a logical step to make and one that wont get us sidetracked. That will allow us to regroup... and raid the Cat Magistrate mansion together!
  20. Well I wouldn't mind to roleplay that. What about you guys? Would you mind if I took some time to roleplay that? "turns to the other players" Also, curious, why would they be against such letter? They would be afraid and too ashamed to face that otter family right? BUT... if I did it for them, Miss Rikki and Sandukan opinion of Slithers would improve right? I dont want to impose though. But at least, I really would like the Otter belonging to the dead family before they get ransacked and stolen. If I can do that behind the scene, that's fine with me too. Or is there even important stuff on him or his destroy caravan to return to his family?
  21. Aaah ok so we wonโ€™t roleplay the part about the Woodland Alliance being the source for the attack. Shame but understandable if you want to wrap things up. Slithers will learn the truth in a future adventure then. Can we say we left a letter with the ottter money and belongings we grabbed at the doorstep of his family? One that that explains what happened from Slithers perspective (what he had been told)? Iโ€™m sure the otters family could project the blame on both Ripley and the Woodland Alliance this way. This way, we can regroup next at the bank. Or if you want, Miss Rikki and Sarkan can do that while Slithers regroup with Hoops and the others? With Miss Rikki and her mangoose companion regrouping with us later? If we do it this way, no letter is needed. EDIT: Or I can edit my last post if needed and just say it is a shame and we need to regroup, if thatโ€™s what you want.
  22. Well I think the narrative consequences for it could come later. If we are blaming the Woodland Alliance for this, one of the negative consequences would be the 3 bandits being expelled as vagabonds that we will have to face them later as ennemies sound actually like something likely to happen. And it would explain how the Woodland Alliance start to grow elsewhere then Honeywell. EDIT: Dont forget to reply in the IC thread too
  23. Can we redact the -1 reputation damage to Riverfolk though? You said yourself they arent a militarized faction yet.
  24. Same. Miss Rikki is awesome and I dont mind Sandukan being a blowhard that I'll have to win over. Besides, I can remind (taunt) him he let the otter die under his watch so that he MIGHT reincarnate in a snake in his next life LOL
  25. I came in late in the adventure but if you allow me, I'll say a few things: 1) The Seeker class abilities are almost all linked to ruins. Although I had a lot of happiness making a "Indiana Jones" character that was a snake, I realize that going forward, for my character to shine the brightess, we would have to visit ruins for it. I never asked for the other player's opinion on the matter though but I want to point out I have no qualm in changing my character class at any point if visiting ruins isn't fun for the group 2) I am not sure how Ripley being a captain of such a large group of NPC is going to work. Are we going to interact with all of them on a daily basis? Or its more like " they are staying on his ship most of the time but can act as a private army of needed" ? 3) Since Riverfolk arent a militarized faction yet, how about Ripley get -1 with the Denizen faction? Which is the most dangerous faction to lower our reputation from because they will fear us and not protect us if the militarized faction want to prison us or accuse us of crime we didnt commit. It could serve as a warning too to not be "agent of chaos" too much because it doesnt make one life easier as vagabond? (Sorry if it seems harsh but even if Im willing to bail Ripley out of trouble if needed as a team player, I feel like too much troubles will not be group for the group either)
