She's ignoring Biara's presence - or at least, pretending to. But Olympia's hesitance catches her attention... she can understand where the clockwork dancer is coming from, that makes her not want to subjugate another construct creature. On the other hand - she worries that Olympia's qualms might lead her to give Biara more freedom of choice than the abyssal weapon deserved. Then again - Eosi hadn't even spoken a harsh word when Biara had casually burned some poor tavern-goer's arm half off, so he might not exactly be a trustworthy warden to keep Biara in check either. Perhaps she should demand the hellblade be put into her custody, but the thought of touching Biara makes her skin crawl. So for now - she'll watch how Olympia handles it. As Biara insists on her trite little ritual, Danika begins focusing on the Gateway again. That should give them all enough time to settle matters. The Motes gather in front of her, swarming and blurring in the air. If you look very closely, past the glow, you can see that they move in an intricately choreographed dance, and where each one moves, it pulls back a single thread of reality, unweaving the veil between the worlds to open a gap.
  2. - Mote's Enhance can be used to buff Armor. Can I use it on Spark's dress to give her a Bracer's of Armor effect?

Hover*, 30 ft. (avg.); "I'd appreciate the spellcraft." Danika says, raising her hand for Eosi, as she invites the group away from the Wall to begin distributing their long-lasting protections. He might be able to bestow his gifts at a range, but she cannot. "Who can't see in the dark? I can grant that. And..." She pauses, weighing her options. The shadows would be useful. But they are frightening. And there will likely be too many innocents to safely use them anyway. It might be better not to worry about the darker half of her powers. But... The ship has slipped between the planes. She'll likely needto bring everything she has to bear against the horrors that lurk between the realms. And a ship that has managed to slide into that place may one day find its way out. That can't be allowed to happen. If it comes to that, the choice is already made. Her darkness is rarely lethal, just terrifying, choking, cloying... "Another ward, to protect you from any... spillover. Plus - Mote can enchant weapons and equipment." Danika makes the rounds, offering Darkvision to those that don't have it, and Clearsight to each member of the team. Biara probably won't need either - if she's being wielded as a weapon. And Danika wouldn't offer it to her either way. As she makes the rounds, she prepares herself for battle as well. Ghostly plate armour, barely visible and picked out in starlight sourrounds her, shimmering into view as she begins to glow faintly, her already larger-than life presence seeming to expand. Next, she retrieves a black iron lantern with rainbow panes of glass, her shadow swelling up from the ground as she reaches into it to pull the lantern out and hang it from her belt. She shakes her hair loose from the delicate, jewelled pins that held it back - they don't fall to the ground, instead lifting to float around her, orbiting her the same way the Motes do. Finally, she retrieves an impracatically large sword - longer than she is tall, and wider than her palm at the hilt - from her shadow, resting it over her shoulder. The Motes swarm the blade, making it glow for a moment before they retreat, leaving the plain steel seeming oddly lustrous. Buffs Clearsight: Eosi, Olympia, Spark, HE, FL, ME (assuming Lusinga declines?) (6SP) Danika Specific: Animated Shadow (1SP) Clearsight (1SP), Glory/Encompassing Light (0SP, 10 minutes) Enhance Equipment (1SP/Mote), Deadly Weapon (1SP/Mote) (My concentration bonus is high enough to get past Burdened Casting (DC25/CL10), since I don't think concentration fails on a Nat 1 - although when I start investing in an Implement that will be a stretch)
  4. Statblock I will love the light, for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars. HP: 117+18 (9d10+27) Fortitude: +20 Reflex: +14 Will: +19 AC: 29 (20 Flat Footed, 27 Touch) BAB: +9 Initiative: +0 CL: 9 (+1 Dark/Light) Sphere DC: 22 (+1 Dark/Light) MSB: 9 Save DC: 23 (25 Light/Dark) Speed: 30' Melee Attack Large Zweihander (2-handed) * Mote Enhancement: +3 Keen Weapon To Hit: +15 (+22) DMG: 2d8+6 (13) Crit: 15-20/x2 Skills: Diplomacy +21, Heal +6, Intimidate (Sphere) +21, Knowledge Planes +21, Perception +14, Survival +8 Use Magic Device +21 Background: Craft (Silversmith) +12, Perform (Sing) +23 Ongoing Buffs: "The real challenge will be... everyone else." Danika says, as the Motes start gathering around her, preparing to weave open a gate. "If it was just one girl then a defensive perimeter, with Lusinga's illusions for cover, and we could have her out almost as soon as we found her. But the others - they'll need a place to go once they're through the gate, and it'll probably be a running battle to get them there. But..." The ones she asked to come with her, she thinks would be well suited to the task: Olympia and Eosi's reactive combat styles, coupled with his healing and her wards. Lusinga's illusions, the Bitter Titan's famed teamwork. Honestly, out of all of them, Danika herself might be the least suited to the task - she'll have to hold back, to keep innocents safe from the more... biting effects of her aura. "It'll be a challenge. But I don't think there's a better group for the job. Are we ready to go?" The glow of the Motes around her intensifies as she focuses her Spark towards a nearby alcove. t's impolite to open a gate in the middle of the tavern, but against an out of the way back wall is perfectly fine - it is a Realmwarden locale, after all. The fact that Biara has run off somewhere is an added bonus, and all the more reason not to dally.
  5. Statblock I will love the light, for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars. HP: 117+18 (9d10+27) Fortitude: +20 Reflex: +14 Will: +19 AC: 29 (20 Flat Footed, 27 Touch) BAB: +9 Initiative: +0 CL: 9 (+1 Dark/Light) Sphere DC: 22 (+1 Dark/Light) MSB: 9 Save DC: 23 (25 Light/Dark) Speed: 30' Melee Attack Large Zweihander (2-handed) * Mote Enhancement: +3 Keen Weapon To Hit: +15 (+22) DMG: 2d8+6 (13) Crit: 15-20/x2 Skills: Diplomacy +21, Heal +6, Intimidate (Sphere) +21, Knowledge Planes +21, Perception +14, Survival +8 Use Magic Device +21 Background: Craft (Silversmith) +12, Perform (Sing) +23 Ongoing Buffs: "Well, I mean, of course you don't have to come, Spark." Danika says, holding out a hand for Spark to step onto, her other hand calling a smoky, twining shadow, stars spinning through the darkness. Lusinga doesn't take contracts without Spark's sign-on, so the contrary little Fae needs to be convinced. "It's just a contract posted by Guildmistress Kuso." The smoke in Danika's hand shifts, the constellations fracturing and reforming. "I can't imagine what would tempt you about a ship lost on the crumbling edge of reality. Surely not the stories hidden in those frayed edges. And it's not like Guildmistress Kuso is known for the pretty, shiny rewards she offers to those who takes on her contracts. And a contract to bring a new little sister home? She'd probably be feeling outright stingy after that." It's not subtle - Danika's impression of Spark is a magpie little gremlin creature, scintillating and delightful, as cunning as her Magos' illusions, but not exactly subtle. And neither is Danika. So she isn't trying to trick the little Fae - the reverse psychology is pretty blatantly lampshaded. Spark will know what she's doing, and Danika expects Spark to know, and so on. "I'm just not sure how we'd manage without you and Lusinga." Danika expects the prospect of sparkly rewards and hidden stories are likely to be enticing, and the game panders to Spark's vanity. And Danika isn't above a little pandering to get what she wants. The only question is whether she can invite Eosi and Olympia without their third wheel. But it seems like that boat may have already sailed. The Lifeminder is definitely someone that Danika wants on this contract. His new Hellblade may be an unfortunate but unavoidable by-product. She waves the Eosi and Olympia over.
  6. I agree that Flex/Shield is the way to go - for the first quest, we want to keep the Flex on board to see where our gaps are. Although with Spark's Illusory Reality, and Danika's handful of minutes of one flex talent per day (which is a lot less flexible when you consider that it can't do base spheres, but a lot more flexible when you consider the possibility of putting it in Extra Companion to make little Mote buddies, although the two minute duration is still a pretty sharp limit)
  7. Statblock I will love the light, for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars. HP: 117+18 (9d10+27) Fortitude: +20 Reflex: +14 Will: +19 AC: 29 (20 Flat Footed, 27 Touch) BAB: +9 Initiative: +0 CL: 9 (+1 Dark/Light) Sphere DC: 22 (+1 Dark/Light) MSB: 9 Save DC: 23 (25 Light/Dark) Speed: 30' Melee Attack Large Zweihander (2-handed) * Mote Enhancement: +3 Keen Weapon To Hit: +15 (+22) DMG: 2d8+6 (13) Crit: 15-20/x2 Skills: Diplomacy +21, Heal +6, Intimidate (Sphere) +21, Knowledge Planes +21, Perception +14, Survival +8 Use Magic Device +21 Background: Craft (Silversmith) +12, Perform (Sing) +23 Ongoing Buffs: "I was at the Guildhall when Eosi brought her in," Danika explains, her nose twitching as if she can smell the brimstone across the room. "She's... Well, she said she's a weapon, and I'm inclined to believe her." While every instinct urges that she should reach into her shadow and draw forth her sword with every grating word of Biara's voice, but she trusts her senses - and Biara isn't Evil. But she'd seen the contract that had sent Eosi to bring Biara in. She's fairly certain that Biara's absolution lies in ignorance. It's the only thing that would make sense - if Biara's not evil in the way that a rabid dog, or a murderer's knife isn't evil. But tools can be bent to a new purpose. And she seems inclined to become the Realmwarden's tool. So Danika shrugs, her gaze skating away from the hell-blade erasing Biara from her mental image of the tavern. She's Eosi's problem, until and unless they find themselves on a contract together. The Motes have been drifting across the Wall as she speaks to Lusinga, reading the contracts, and have begun to congregate around a few. Danika turns her focus back to the wall, skimming the illuminated contracts, her brows drawing together as she sees the Guildmistress' seal on one. A tendril of shadow seeps up the wall, the Motes shying away from the inky darkness as it pulls the contract from Yuki down, passing it into Danika's hands for closer perusal. This one... strikes a nerve. As her shadow subsides back into the floor, the Motes swarm around her again, drawing in close, weaving through her hair and around her arms their soft glow whispering comfort. What might her life have been, if the Motes hadn't whisked her away until after her world shattered? What might it have been if the Realmwardens had come for her instead? Her taut fingers wrinkle the edge of the page as she holds it out for La Lusinga to inspect. She's honestly better acquainted with the familiar, than the man: she's whiled away many hours with Spark in the workshop of the Guildhall, shaping precious metals into jewellry for the Motes to enchant, and although she is far from the most skilled artisan among the Realmwardens, shiny is shiny. "Would... you and Spark be interested in another trip?" She asks the illusionist, her smile warm and inviting, but not quite hiding the tension in her eyes: she's not enthralled with being in a position to be told no. "I think this one might need a team." She tilts the paper towards the Bitter Titan teammate as well, letting him? them? choose whether they want to be included in the request.
  8. Danika would be most interested in 4, 5, 7, 8 in that order, so 4 seems like the winner?
  9. Statblock I will love the light, for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars. HP: 117+18 (9d10+27) Fortitude: +20 Reflex: +14 Will: +19 AC: 29 (20 Flat Footed, 27 Touch) BAB: +9 Initiative: +0 CL: 9 (+1 Dark/Light) Sphere DC: 22 (+1 Dark/Light) MSB: 9 Save DC: 23 (25 Light/Dark) Speed: 30' Melee Attack Large Zweihander (2-handed) * Mote Enhancement: +3 Keen Weapon To Hit: +15 (+22) DMG: 2d8+6 (13) Crit: 15-20/x2 Skills: Diplomacy +21, Heal +6, Intimidate (Sphere) +21, Knowledge Planes +21, Perception +14, Survival +8 Use Magic Device +21 Background: Craft (Silversmith) +12, Perform (Sing) +23 Ongoing Buffs: People look up when Danika enters the tavern. If you take her as a sum of parts, she isn't particularly striking - medium height, medium build, and a collection of features that on someone else would be fair to descrie as medium pretty. But that's not what makes people look at her. Inn Nexus they call it Witchmarked, when a person's magic bleeds out of them the way that Danika's does. Her skin is dusted with glilttering stardust, faintly glowing constellations that slowly rotate across her body, and even though she is not obviously glowing at this moment, the entire Tavern seems to brighten slightly with her presence, and that of the small motes of light that bob and weave around her. She's wearing a light-weight, knee-length, sleeveless tunic over practical pants, showing off the enchanted jewellry that circles her limbs. She seems relaxed and unarmed, scanning the tavern for familiar faces with a warm smile for anyone she catches looking her way. Her shadow tells a different story, the enormous sword strapped across its back suggesting she's far from unarmed. But a shadow is easy to miss in the hustle and bustle of the tavern. She doesn't order a drink - she never really got into the habit of alcohol. In her younger adventuring days, there were a few times around the fire with a band of temporary companions, but she'd never liked the way it threw her off balance, and it didn't really project the impression she wanted to give. Ordering something non-alcoholic in a tavern seems juvenile, which would have been worse. So she just dodges the issue when she comes to the Tavern, she doesn't order a drink, and politely declines any offers. The only exception is when she ends up singing with whoever is performing on the stage that evening - then, Melisae brings her warm, honeyed water with a smile, and without a question. For her voice. Most nights, when Danika spends longer than a half hour in the tavern, she ends up singing. Tonight, she's more interested in the wall than keeping up appearances. She's heard rumours about some of the new contracts going up that have piqued her interest. It seems she's not the only one. She notices Biara almost immediately, the demon-creature's presence sets her teeth on edge. But in Biara's case, the prickling sense of wrongness isn't real, and Eosi has vouched for her. Danika's been acquainted with the Aurori long enough to give him some trust. But she still puts some space between herself and Biara as she studies the wall, joining the group forming around Bitter Titan. The faceless team of mercenaries is almost as disconcerting as Biara, but Olympia gets a smile, and Lusinga a nod. "Which ones are you looking at?" she asks the three others, scanning the wall.
  10. Clearsight is more so that GETE isn't actively shafted by Danika's Darkness effects, so it's still neccessary to stack it on any of the GETEs that want to come within 40 feet of Danika
  11. Quick question - how does GETE interact with buffs? Do I need to cast 4 Clear-sighted melds on him? Or do they share the buff?
  12. I wouldn't say trivially outclassed. In AOE sure, but 10d6 is a destructive blast at this level. Full round action to make a 10d6 attack in an (admittedly huge) area. And it's pretty limited in ways to buff that action. One talent (Destruction, Shape Focus, Type focus, Explosive Orb and either Force Blast or Drowning blast), and 2k for a +1 implement can create a pretty similar dupe for 2 spell points (20 foot radius instead of a huge cone, but usually, a 20' radius is enough). By contrast- Danika is single target, but she can Glory her encompassing light talent to be effectively Huge wielding a Gargantuan sword for a full attack with a 4d8+13, 15-20/×2 crit weapon. Stack Temporal Haste (move action) with spell-combat Steal Time to Daze an enemy and get an extra Standard Action - she can full attack twice and put a destructive blast or some pretty crippling debuffs on her second spell combat. Intoxicating Darkness Looming Darkness and Incandescent Blast all debuff will saves to help land the Steal Time (or any of Spark's illusions). 10d6 AOE is great for sweeping minions, but against a boss, Danika outpaces the Vortex gun. Meanwhile, Fey Adept is the ultimate utility caster - sure, Spark isn't keeping pace with damage, but a creative Fey Adept can run wild with battlefield control. And Olympia and Phechan have like 30 AOEs per round between them, which Spark can enable like crazy with her illusions.
  13. I felt like Scion of Nobility for CHA to initiative would be overkill. Fits for the flavour, but I already get it for spells, attacks damage AC Saves and Know (planes).
  14. Discord: Not a dealbreaker, but a very useful tool. I will post faster with a discord to let me know when posts happen. Mythic/Epic: Leaning no - don't much care for the systems, and they add complexity that isn't neccessary here. We'll be plenty powerful without it. 3 Magic items: I'd like to get a Specialists' Staff for Fate (I just want the base specialisation ability, without having to spend a talent on the sphere), maybe an Implement for Dark (maybe Light/dark, but most of my key light effects will be used through Night Sky and key of Dark DCs)... And then I'm just a big fan of things with interesting utility uses I can apply creatively. Initiative/passive rolls - I like block initiative. Roll once for the opponents, and then each player rolls. The ones who win go first, then the opponents then everyone goes then all the opponents etc. I'm fine with you doing initiative and passive rolls to speed things up. Lines: I'm not interested in a romantic subplot or anything for Danika, with NPCs or PCs. No problems if anyone else is interested in that, but its not for me. Fudging: I'm fine with your policy. What are your lines re: content, Saber?
  15. Biaras homeworld totally counts as a hell dimension. GETE is from a dead dimension. Important difference :p I wasn't trying to pile on, just clarify where Danika draws her lines (in some cases, these lines are probably not totally self-consistent or rational)
