"Which part of 'and run' are you unclear on?". Zyrel groans as Armenga goes down, gets up and keeps trying to go toe to toe with the clearly superior statue. Brave, yes. Necessary? Probably not. Silently, he admits the 'Hit' part isn't working all that well either, though the statue does appear to be battered nearly into submission. "Sorry Joseph, you're probably going to have to make do with studying pieces unless you start right now." Zyrel drops another rain of stones on the statue and fires his bow once more. He seems to have figured out the statue's defensive routine, the arrow strikes with deadly force.

Yup. Specifically the 1978 remake of course. Not as good as the original, but I thought that one would have been too easy.

What do you mean about forums being accessed from different points?
If I were to take a guess, at least some of the things they use are physical references they don't normally carry with them, but they might use MW both at home and work/school. Or from the library, on mobile, whatever, just somewhere away from their books.

Jonny Chen
OCV: 6 | DCV: 7 | Stun: 50/50 | Body: 20/20 | End: 40/40 | Conditions: none
Jonny pops his head up just enough to see where the gunmen are and edges forwards a bit. No gunfire yet, no point in fighting for insured money, but he definitely wants to be ready if and when things turn ugly. There's something going on in the street, it looks almost like one of the gunmen got hit by a car, which really seems unlikely, but he did hear some squealing tires a moment ago, so maybe? If he were more certain of the situation, this might have been a perfect distraction, but he's not about to take the responsibility for starting a firefight that could easily end up with dead civilians. If it looks like the shooting's going to start, that guy's going down. Jonny focuses on the nearest gunman.
Mechanics
Moving a touch closer and holding action. If it looks like #8 is about to shoot, or fighting is clear inside, Jonny's going to jump out and hit him.

We could argue about the weirdness of the movie, but it's definitely not German.

Not Peggy Sue, also not Tetsubo's bedroom pics.

Pretty sure you can still take Secret ID or Public ID as a Social Complication.

I'm mostly certain I read King David's Spaceship (mumble) years ago but recall very little about it.

Read it in highschool, before DnD was published.
It was amusing. I can't remember for certain, isn't it the one where an alien invasion incoming towards earth is defeated by a billion ball bearings? Or am I remembering a similar book about earth defeating a superior technology?
Definitely not the ball bearing one, whatever that was. High Crusade, the aliens land in Medieval England. They have impressive technology and are brutal conquerors but have completely forgotten personal combat. A sound thrashing ensues.

Oh, you have got to be kidding. Almost without thinking, Jonny dives behind the nearest car, not the greatest cover against rifles but at least concealment. He risks a quick look to assess the situation. Great, they're smart enough to cover the retreat. This would have been so much easier if they'd only left a driver outside. No gunfire yet, so best not start anything. Jonny considers the mask and bandana in his pockets for a moment, but it's probably best to just look like another civilian bystander for now. The question of identity though does bring up the obvious question, who the heck are these guys?
Mechanics
Moving and crouching behind the parked car. Calling on his knowledge of the criminal underworld to see if he recognizes the symbol on their jackets.

"Oh of course. Trickery has its place in warfare, but trying too hard to trick an enemy you don't need to can result in outsmarting yourself."

Ah Rolemaster Lite. For when needing ten different spells to heal a wound starts seeming almost as silly as it is. I do have some fond memories of MERP.

"Hmm. Better magic than some then, if it can know individuals. Gonna be hard to trick."

Jonny doesn't usually do much work before 4 PM, but sometimes he'll log in, just to see if he can get anything. To his surprise, he got a drop off in Oldtown pretty quickly, but then nothing for a bit and he decided to log off and go enjoy the day for a bit. Being a bit flush after the successful weekend, he figures he'll find a nice but not too pricey spot for lunch and treat himself. It's far too nice a day to spend cooped up in a car, especially in Oldtown traffic (the street layout dates to horse and carriage days and it shows with one way streets everywhere), so he finds a parking spot and starts walking.

"Nice spell, even with the silly words. Now while it's distracted, pour it on, hit and run." The best way to take advantage of a slowed foe? Make it keep coming to you. Zyrel repeats his spell again, his rain of rocks joining Armenga's as he fires yet another arrow.

"Seems like a good idea." A very good idea, Hair Twirler was definitely not in any place to be doing anything but going to bed.
Having got the girls safely home, Jonny takes the rest of the night off, not that there was much left anyhow. He could have probably picked up a few late partiers but no need.
Dropping by the club the next week, Jonny reluctantly turns down the job, spinning some BS about needing a flex schedule because of some family drama. He knows the club would be just as happy if the troublemakers went elsewhere, but he would rather encourage them to not make trouble at all, hard to do when tied down to a specific spot all evening. "Best I can do is park around here sometimes when I'm between clients. Won't take any money for that, but it's unpredictable enough to give those bums some pause, maybe spread word to their buddies, give you a little less trouble anyhow." Jonny intends to keep an eye out for the trio, not that he'd give them any trouble if they seemed to be behaving themselves, but maybe just seeing him around would act as a reminder to keep civilized.

Made a minor tweak to skills, the +2 CSL Defensive Mastery (three related maneuvers) seemed a bit much (he didn't even use it, I was a bity iffy on it anyhow), I dropped it to a +1 with Martial Block, freeing up 4 points, used to raise KS: Sovereign City and get familiarity with Navigation (Land) and Tactics.

Sorry, forgot I hadn't made a post this round. Apparently Zyrel was holding his shot for the perfect moment.
