"Not so good a fight, I think, ah well." Jonny sounds almost regretful as he spins into a quick snap kick. "I'm thinking you should walk away while you still can," he adds, striking an obviously martial pose for the first time. Maybe a bit too obvious really, it owes as much to Hong Kong action movies as his actual training, but he's hoping to get the thugs to back off before he has to hang around explaining three unconscious drunks to the cops.

    Mechanics

CSL: adjusting (+2/+1) Quick Strike (+1/+3) OCV 9 DCV 11 Defense Maneuver as before.

Attempting Presence attack. 3d6 base, -1d6 for in combat. Probably at least +1d6 for violent action, I'll let you decide any further mods and make the roll.

  2. Slight correction, I've been editing his stat block in the post to include the CSL/Maneuver bonuses, so the +8 is his actual OCV in the round. So actually 14-, but that's still two hits. I think going forward, I'll just leave the base numbers up there and put the round adjusted numbers in the mechanics block, probably easier and less confusing. I believe his attack still misses though, he'd need an OCV of 9 to hit with that roll.

"I suppose I can oblige." Jonny shifts his stance ever so slightly and snaps a punch at the big man's body. A quick sidestep and another quick punch to the gut follow up, showing off Jonny's superior speed if nothing else.

    Mechanics

Moving CSL to +1/+2. Using Defense Maneuver (Half Phase, no back shots, no multiple attacker bonusses) and Quick Strike (+1/+3 7d6 strike) as a Jab. Hits DCV 6, could be iffy if the big guy has some skills and/or is being cautious but probably hits unless he Dodges. Normal damage, 25 Stun, 7 Body.

Phase 2: Same CSL, another Quick strike. Hit DCV 5, Normal Damage 31 Stun, 9 Body

  4. One of our original members was a sentient walking grove of trees, mechanically a leshy summoner that summoned leshies, so out there concepts aren't off the table. Of course, leshies were only Uncommon and since redefined as Common, so not the best guide to whether Rare is allowed or not.

  5. This will probably be my last check in until Sunday night, Monday morning (depends on how tired I am when I get home, usually very). I might take my tablet to the camp and see if I can manage MW better on it than my phone, but I might not either, the days tend to be pretty full.

Zyrel is moderately annoyed to see the statue does indeed dodge fairly well, but also pleased that the few stones that connect seem to have a surprisingly substantial effect. While it is possible the foe might evade the rain of stone entirely, it is far more likely to defend against a direct attack and said direct attack couldn't attack the creature's weakness as his spell can. Still, every bit helps and Zyrel not only repeats his spell but also fires a futile arrow at the creature.

If he were in his Iron Tiger guise, and facing off against hardened criminals, Jonny would have leaped straight for the biggest target and tried to take him down. But he's still hoping to end this without too much violence and mindful of the fact that "Glitz" almost certainly has security cameras covering the sidewalks. He wants there to be no doubt who swung first. It's not like these punks are much threat, at least, not to him.  He sways forwards, moving almost casually, though anyone with more than the bare minimum of combat training will note careful footwork and the sudden shift that carries him past the big marine and into a spot just past the other two punks. "Sorry, did my cardio this morning, not scheduled for another run today."

    Mechanics

Leaving CSL at +0/+3. Using Defense Maneuver (Half Phase, no back shots, no multiple attacker bonusses) and Flying Dodge (+4 DCV, FMove, moving to a point where the thugs will have to turn to face him and hopefully disengage from the girls as they do.)

"Funny, doesn't sound that way to me." Jonny responds to Napoleon just as the girl shouts "No" and takes a slap for it. Jonny sees red for a second, but takes a deep breath and drops into a more wary stance that should be triggering a warning to the big marine at least, if not his two punk friends. "You like hitting people, you might try one a bit harder to hit."

    Mechanics

Yeah, that's an Enrage check. Passed, lucky punks.

Assigning CSL's, +3 DCV, not because he's afraid of these punks at all, but because he wants to make them look like chumps trying to hit him.

"What's not to like? Reliable, good mileage, not too flashy, not too cheap. Great working cars." Not one to pass up an opening that might get the big guy feeling a bit more mellow and friendly, Jonny's quick to sing the praises of his chosen brand. Certainly doesn't hurt that he believes it and judging from the number of similar cars working for Uber or Lyft or various delivery companies, so do quite a few others. "Anyhow, I'm just here to make sure the ladies get what they want, if they want to go down to the river with you guys, great, but if they want to go home, that's where I'm taking them."

Jonny was feeling pretty good about his weekend, one good weekend in the Mours could give him most of the week off and this had been a good weekend. Unless there was something particularly convenient, he would probably call it a night after this run. And then a couple of stupid drunks showed up to complicate things. Parking his Accord with a sigh, Jonny got out and headed for the confrontation. Have to play this just right, too aggressive, it's a challenge, too mild, just another victim. It's good Jonny's not a big guy himself, that would be a challenge all on its own.

"I believe the ladies called for a ride home, not down to the river."

    Battle Medicine:

"Yup, keep our eyes on the real target." Perhaps, under other circumstances, Boradur would worry more about the Bilokos, they are nasty creatures without a doubt, but chasing them into the swamp seems rather futile, at least for him. Cirmaran, however, flying as he is and being an excellent archer to boot, is perfectly placed to deliver a bit of justice. "Torag's blessing go with you." he mutters as he slogs through the swamp to finish their objective.

  13. Gonna try to throw up some more background today, if I don't end up napping all afternoon. (Old guys and 6 day workweeks aren't a fun combo). Most of it is in my head, but getting it committed to electrons always seems to come with "Nah, that doesn't work, let's try this instead," so typing it up takes MUCH longer than it should.

Hadn't really planned on a Chinatown. There might BE such an area, but since most of his family is pretty thoroughly Americanized, they wouldn't live there. Grandfather Wong might and would certainly have connections there, but he'd want to be close to his daughter and grandchild. I was originally thinking of putting them near the Havens but if Chinatown is a thing and located in the Estuary, it occurs to me that Emmy Mours is the perfect place for an Uber driver to find fares and so they are now located in West Sovereign, definitely out of Chinatown but close enough to easily visit. That means that yes, the Chinese gangs are part of his life. Possibly a few clashes with gangs out of Draydon Flats too, he would NOT like the Rebel Slavers one bit and even if they would prefer other targets, I suspect the feeling would be mutual.

Great Grandpa Wong: You pretty much figured out what I had in mind, he was punishing white criminals and racists preying on Chinese residents. He got a little too visible and ended up changing coasts, he kept a lower profile in Sovereign City, aided in part by the fact that the Chinese community was much smaller and attracted less trouble. Grandpa Wong did a bit of vigilante work himself in the late 60's, early 70's but stopped after his daughter was born (that said event also coincided with a general decline in street violence for a time may or may not have been a coincidence). Grandpa did briefly use the name Iron Tiger, so technically Jonny is the second Iron Tiger in Sovereign City, though very few people would remember that.

  14. I'm on multiple times a day most days, but it would be rare for me to make multiple posts to the same game. Generally, I assume about half of my games will need a post each day for an average of a post every other day in any given game. Of course, some games are slower, so a few can be faster.

"Huh, must have been on soft dirt. Came down easy." Boradur gathers up his weapons, ready to defend himself, but by the time he has them, there is nobody to fight. "Right, no sense in chasing them down, especially in territory they know and we don't."

Zyrel fires futilely, then dives forwards as the statue takes a mighty swing that would have left him badly wounded, if it connected. Fortunately, he dives under the savage strike and continues, rolling to his feet and darting towards the nearby brush. He eyes the statue, noting it's excellent armor and ready shield, he decides it might be rather hard to hit and instead calls down a rain of magical stone. "Lets see how well you dodge."

  17. To be fair, I mostly stuck with boardgaming or card tournaments at cons. Roleplaying with strangers is a bit weird (though there was the one con where we did a very dark messed up Scooby Doo vs Cthulhu game that was a blast and Midnight Paranoia at Marcon was usually fun).

  18. Jonny (Iron Tiger) is based firmly in East Haven and rarely operates outside the Havens. Of course, if he just happens to be somewhere else when he sees something going on, he's not going to worry too much about location and his job as an Uber driver does get him around the city a fair bit. His family lives in a not so bad neighborhood on the border of East Haven and Brookhaven, he, on the other hand, shares a house a few miles west with a bunch of 20 somethings in the sort of neighborhood where at least one house on every block is boarded up and condemned and at least one other probably should be.

  19. There used to be a number of smaller local cons in our area back in the 80's-90's and I've got some stories from those, but not good ones for the most part. Though I do have a friend that I mostly only ever saw at conventions (I'm about 90% sure we met in the used game booth looking at wargames and if it wasn't there, I have no clue anymore). Sadly, aside from Cabin Con, the local convention scene is now pretty much one media and gaming con in the fall and a couple of comic conventions.
