Murderbot is amazing.

Just about done with Valdemar, by Mercedes Lackey. Then it's time to finish my reread of Wheel of Time with A Memory of Light.

Saw Dune Saturday, thought they did a fair job of walking the line between making a watchable movie and capturing Herbert's message. The results will probably piss off some purists, but they probably were going to be impossible to please anyhow.

Yeah, M&M is my main use for it. I used to use it for 4e, but the last update broke the 4e files somehow.

Dang it, I knew that one too, though I couldn't have got the artist without spotting me about 8 letters.

I really like that change to Light. No reason now to debate over which form to learn.

I use the classic offline version, but I've never really tried it for Pathfinder, Pathbuilder and PathCompanion are just too good to bother. The little I've heard about the new online version just tells me to stay far away.

It's kind of funny really, back in the day it was probably the most popular J. Geils song (at least where I lived), but all you ever hear today is Centerfold and sometimes Freezeframe. I don't think I've heard Love Stinks on the radio since the mid 80's at the latest.

Anyhow, this is a song that for years I misremembered as being J. Geils.

That was easily the number one song in my school during my sophomore year. Love Stinks.

Well, as well as a Binder ever works anyhow. Which is reasonably well IF the player knows what they're doing.

Of course that gets posted right when I went to bed. It's so rare that I know any of these.

Zyrel (Ekujae Rogue)

Zyrel is rather embarrassed meeting the head of the Uzunjati given how his studies have been going. Fortunately, he can avoid talking about that since Janatimo wants to hear about interesting or unusual events, not the minutia of everyday academia. Zyrel is careful to spread credit around as he covers their various encounters with gremlins and bugs. He makes sure to bring up the weird almost sigils some of the bugs were chewing. If that's not significant somehow, he'll eat his favorite boots. Mostly, he helps weave the accounts everyone gives together into a coherent story.

Dagnabit, that was on my list of possible suspects, but as I failed to even recognize Alec Guiness until he was identified for me, I don't feel right taking the credit.

Notably, the movie is actually set just BEFORE the Napoleonic era, so much for uniforms.

I don't think it's the 1972 version of Treasure Island, but I'm not sure it's not. So lets throw that in the mix.

You appear to have more faith in Hollywood's ability to pick the right uniforms than I do. Still not Hornblower though, aside from the made for TV movies starting in the 90's there seems to be only one other Hornblower movie and this isn't it.

As far as Ring of Sustenance goes, I've never known a player yet who wasn't more interested in the reduced sleep than not needing food and water.

Zyrel predictably spends most of his time hanging around with Chizire and Okoro, mostly sampling whatever weird brew Chizire has concocted most recently and chatting about Okoro's latest obsession. Somehow, in between all this, they manage to keep up with their studies just enough to not actually fail anything, though Zyrel is sometimes seen during off hours actually hitting the books, usually together with Okoro. He doesn't seem to make quite as many trips into town as he used to but he still does enough to keep in touch with a few of his shadier contacts.
