  2. So, I want to clarify - the commoners can't harvest mana, but members of the Order are selected from the commoners, and they have magic abilities. Is harvesting mana and using magic different skills? Is our handler, a hoarder, channeling us mana to use magic? Or am I just misunderstanding something?

Also, can nobles enter the Order? A disgraced scion maybe, or a third/fourth/etc son with no hope to inherit a title?

  3. Where would a forest ranger/guide/hunter do his job in the Skies Between before becoming a member of Ground Patrol? Any forests around Holstaed or Trine Illume, or are there masses specifically for wood and quarry?

    Backstory

Before joining the Ground Patrol, Sharian was one of the hunters for Holstaed, providing wild game from other masses for sale and keeping the wild population on Holstaed itself in check. Sharian was pretty content with his life as a hunter and an occasional guide for a rich kid to go "hunting" on one of the more tame masses, until on one the usual hunting trips he made a detour to visit a good friend of his - a firbolg druid Sylris who lived as a hermit on a small mass near Holstaed. Instead he found a his friend's corpse, at least a week old. After giving Sylris a proper burial, Sharian followed what little leads he found to a ship called Steadfast and a man named Ilar. However to continue further would require more resources and skill than he had. That is how he ended up enlisting for Ground Patrol.
