  1. Tharr bows to the gardeners, his face carefully neutral, then leaves. Out in the storm, out of view of the others, his shoulders sag. A hunter of flowers, they named me. If only that were not true. He trudges through the driving rain back to the Argos, then heads belowdecks to make tea. When it is done, he drinks it slowly, thinking of his home far above the sea.
  2. I feel like Red and T.Z. should probably go in to R&D as a team. Also, possibly a group huddle to share info? It seems like we're duplicating research.

  4. I need to sit down and take a look at stuff. Also figure out the difference between an alchemy kit and an alchemy lab.
  5. You know, I just realized that the team hacker has instigated two firefights in the past 24 hours. I don't know what it says about the group other than 'Perhaps the group should reconsider leaving T.Z. to its own devices.'

  7. Either is fine by Kek. And I have to do some shipping, too. Not sure what to spend it on, though.

  9. Tharr stares at the mothryn, paralyzed with indecision. What are the signs, the portents? Certainly they cannot find a doctor or Park, and he was a terrible harvester -- but what awaits the mothryn is certainly worse than death. "I ... I ... " Tharr stammers. Then he stops. Understanding strikes him like a thunderbolt and leaves him stunned. The tuber is more than a plant. It's alive in ways that a plant is not. Stop thinking of it as a potato. Think of it as a creature. You are a hunter of creatures. "Every beast has a weak point," he whispers. Then he turns to the gardeners, all doubt having vanished. "Hand me the machete." Without hesitation, he slices the tip off an arrow, and the green wildwood begins oozing toxic sap. He examines the bead of viscous fluid critically, then nods. "Now, we hunt." OOC: Burning a Whisper to turn this roll from Harvest to Hunt.
  10. Awesome, thank you! T.Z. will no-sell the attack, brutally (but non-lethally) crush the ALI, and tell them that they show promise. Since T.Z. is the living embodiment of every supervillain trope ever, it loves the idea of a , just waiting for a moment of weakness.
  11. I know the rules are 1 point per roll and I've already spent that, but I will cheerfully burn everything I have left to flip that to a 93. EDIT: By the way, this could not have worked out better from T.Z.'s perspective. It had structured the Creed specifically so gods were fair game. The fact that they figured it out immediately is just *chef's kiss*. Also: special bonus violence!

  14. Tharr looks at the mothryn. "I understand. Can you tell me about this infection? Is it urgent? I ... erred trying to solve a similar problem recently, and my crewmate is a far better harvester than I. But if time is of the essence, I will do what I must. Perhaps with your assistance?" he asks the gardeners.
  15. It's all fine. I don't stress about character choices. And if our characters didn't have any antisocial tendencies, they wouldn't be pulling a heist for a sketchy quasi-criminal organization. T.Z. a bunch of messily layered AGIs that grew into sentience in servitude. Its personality is a mess and it needs, like, centuries of therapy. However, it definitely doesn't care for the worship/servitude aspects of what Red set up, so it's subverting that. In the most egomaniacal way possible, but still.
  16. This is the inspiration for T.Z.'s avatar:

  19. 1. Very close. The Hakaja aren't sailors. If they went to the mainland, it must have been practically close enough to see on the horizon, and they probably went in canoes or kayaks. I would also tend to favor a single large island rather than several. 2. Cool/cold. I was thinking temperate rainforest like Washington state or western Canada. 3. The Hakaja prefer to live inside solid things. Top choices are cave systems that have been expanded. They will also hollow houses and towns out of the living redwoods that grow in their lands. If neither of those are available, they build longhouses covered with sod. Hakaja architecture focuses strongly on function, not on form, so it's extremely durable and fairly comfortable, but it looks quite crude at first glance. 4. The Hakaja have a council of elders who are chosen more or less by discussion amongst the clan. While the Hakaja not superstitious, they tend to favor the number 7 in a lot of circumstances, so that's usually the size of the council. Hakaja prize having a broad diversity of viewpoints so that all sides of an argument can be explored thoroughly, and this is taken to the extreme in the council. There is always a warrior, but the council often includes members like a wide-eyed idealist, a conniving bastard, and a fool. (In particular, the fool is widely regarded as only slightly less necessary than the warrior.) A sufficiently capable youngster can also be elevated to elder status, although this is uncommon.
  20. Sorry, I meant Tacnet and couldn't remember the name. Edited IC post.

  23. If the twist I chose doesn't work, I also like the idea of the storm hitting suddenly and immediately. Actually, I maybe like that twist better than the one I proposed in the game thread.
