  1. WIP~ Name: 'Colour' to those outside Art Floristry circles, 'Kalasilya' to those in the profession. Concept: Scholar of the Arborist branch of Art Florists, intent on discovering as many plant species as possible to further his understanding of plant biology while working on his magnum opus (one Colour can't seem to make a concrete decision about yet...). Will spend most fights interacting with a bioluminescent hologram interface to create his spell effects, namely creating and manipulating big trees that wallop, taunt, or hinder enemies. (Elementalist [Geomancer] focusing on the Nature sphere) Colour's commission art completed by the wonderful Syncthart ()

"Right...well, then. I relinquish wieldership of Biara to Olympia. Hopefully that will suffice?" When the remaining members of Bitter Titan arrive, Eosi gets to work with his protective magics, so that by the time he has finished, almost everyone present boasts a similarly curvy lattice of thin ice-crystal webbing, covering their torso to some extent. "As a warning of caution to everyone who has not fought by my side before...if you notice the crystal covering I have just bestowed upon you is missing, then my capacity to keep you safe from harm is severely limited." Eosi lowers his altitude, so that his shoes almost touch the ground. "I am ready, yes." "I do have it on good authority that I am eminently annoyable, yes. As for my ward...well, talk of 'beauty' aside, she's capable, if not frustrated with my preference for using magic directly in combat. Biara will be joining us, and if someone here who uses their armaments more than as an arcane focus would do me a favour, Biara seems very eager to turn into a literal weapon to enhance her wielder." He doesn't seem at his wit's end or anything like that, but it is blatantly obvious the Lifeminder would prefer to avoid misunderstandings or apparently further friction in which he is personally involved. Eosi inspects the contract Danika has claimed, unsure at first what he's signed up to. "Oh, I see! Given our destination, would everyone who would die if they are unable to breathe in the vacuum of space...or the toxic conditions of some of the known Hells...please raise their hand? I should sort out that potential issue before worrying about other protections." By way of implied demonstration, Eosi's personal snowfall quickens, and following a flick of his wrist, a vest of crystal filigree like raised lacework creeps into existence across his torso in a curved art nouveau style. OOC1sp spent to place Breathless aegis on self for the next 9 hours.

We aren't family, so she doesn't need my criticism. He inspects the branded stranger a little more closely, considering his own judgment. Doesn't mean he deserved that, though. Concentrating on the man's well-being, Eosi waves his free hand in a gentle sweep. The snowflakes drifting around the Aurori become more energetic, dancing and twirling erratically, until they freeze in place just as suddenly, becoming lethargic once more. The man, and anyone who cares to notice, sees his wound visibly frost over and dry off in quick succession, revealing perfectly fresh, clean skin where Vista's hand had imprinted harm only seconds earlier. "You have time for that, yes, but possibly not much else, I predict." It is now that Eosi notices Danika beckoning them over. He jerks his head in her direction in case the others haven't spotted the gesture, then drifts on over without saying anything to his previous companions, assuming they will follow or not as they choose. "Where are we going?" Eosi asks in his deep voice, assuming a shared contract to already be inevitable. (OOC: Standard to Guard the patron, then subsequent standard to use a spell point and Cure for a narratively irrelevant amount.)
  6. Seeing as he's shaping up to be an asexual played by a gay guy, I'm all for this 🤣
  7. A little confused by Biara's remarks, but having grown accustomed since meeting her to be comfortable with that, Eosi spends the time Olympia takes to speak stoppering his flagon and depositing the mostly full ceramic jug in a tiny pouch hanging from his belt which really has no right to be able to contain such a relatively large object. He then listens to Olympia intently, even though he cannot help but do a gentle spin in midair as he does so, for he has been in the one physical space for a bit too long for his restless body's liking. As Eosi turns, he glances in the direction Spark flitted off to, noting once again the eerie Bitter Titan soldier and the figure who may or may not be la Veritas, for he is still convinced the magician is having someone on just now. He smiles in Danika's direction, and continues his pirouette before holding himself in place to face Biara and Olympia once more, still ignoring Biara's other drinking companions who are unknown to him. "I can't help but feel there are the stirrings of a team forming as we speak, Olympia. You can certainly count me in, if I am welcome." He grins at Biara, being careful to gesture towards her with his free hand rather than swing his jagged spear in her direction, for she seems uncomfortable around the object. "And Biara is certainly about as sturdy as they come. What is your opinion, Biara? Do you think yourself ready to take on an official contract?"
  8. I am now awake—good morning! Eosi kinda understands master/familiar relationships, but not overly well. He's spent several centuries being part of a democratic, invulnerable community that could be capricious or generous, depending on the mood. He definitely doesn't understand Biara's perspective in the slightest.
  9. Eosi seems particularly unfazed by the continued joking around his interactions with women, yielding not even a blush or a sigh of frustration. Perhaps he's uninterested in women, or in anyone in general? He does wonder, though, for a single second, if his friend Fralgar has ever found it strange that Eosi likewise introduces the elderly ash-orc to other acquaintances with the same adjective as he did Olympia and Spark. The Aurori doesn't dwell on the notion, however; perhaps his indication of trust is mistranslated from its intent. "Usually, Biara, voicing your diagnostic assessment of another being's physical composition and their supposed strengths and weaknesses is impolite. Unless you are a physician and they are under your medical care." Eosi's voice is mild as he takes pains to avoid giving the false impression he himself is irritated - he simply hopes clear explanations will help her navigate her new life. "Or so I am told, at least. I have never visited one such professional personally. I think I died once, a few years back, on a contract I perhaps should not have attempted solo, but I was perfectly fine a minute later, so I might have imagined it." Floating in place as he is, Eosi begins to finally partake of his mead, being one to appreciate the sweet drink most when it is in the process of cooling.
  10. Obviously I'll be happy with whatever the party decides, but some of those contracts feel more urgent and involve protection of innocents or figuring out who to point the finger of justice at, which are both Eosi's preferences (certainly over the frivolity of being hired court-goers or participating in a tournament). While I myself am most intrigued by the tavern basement quest, because secrecy combined with the fact some of our characters frequent this establishment more than others, but Eosi wouldn't be drawn to that job when there are others needing protection. I'll nominate options 4, 1, 2, 9 and 5, just to be clear :)
  11. Eosi blinks in surprise at Biara's loud summons, then looks back at Spark, unsure whose antics to be amused by most. That conundrum makes him double-take, squinting back at Biara briefly to figure out if she is actually an illusion crafted by la Veritas. Deciding after a moment that Biara is indeed her real self, Eosi's smile widens. "I haven't ever tried stealing immortality before, but I'm sure it can't be too difficult." At Spark's jibe about acquiring a familiar, Eosi brandishes his spear in a little swirly flourish, causing twelve visible miniature clouds to puff into existence, each one in a chaotic orbit around the centre of their universe. "I'm good for familiars, I should think. For now at least. These might look like flurrying cotton candy, but please don't try to eat them." With a shrug of his shoulders, the clouds disappear, as though they were never really there. "But yes, I suppose Biara over there is a little like a ward. It's been a little exhausting learning just how much she is inclined to instigating misunderstandings with others, though. Looks like she has a way of making friends on her own, no?" Eosi nods over at Olympia, before gesturing for Spark to follow if she so desires an introduction. He floats across the tavern towards the drinking gathering near the centre, stopping by the bar to acquire his warmed mead, which immediately begins to cool in his presence. "Biara! Olympia is lovely and worth heeding. Follow her example. And Spark here...she is likewise lovely, but her master is fond of playing tricks, so if you can grow a pair of eyes in the back of your head, do so."
  12. Eosi waves back to Olympia with the spear in his hand, although it's less animated out of fear of pricking someone nearby accidentally. He doesn't make an effort to approach the clockwork woman yet, though; if he waits long enough, she will probably gather herself up a decent little adventuring party and perhaps he can tag along. He'd always thought she was a decent enough sort, if a little too eager to attract an audience. He's on the verge of retreating from loitering around his preferred contract to go collect his mead flagon, which must surely be suitably warmed by now, when Spark uses him as a landing pad and greets him ever so casually. It's a bit of an effort to hold his body still for the tiny fairy's comfort. He might be hovering in place, but Eosi's left foot is restlessly tapping at imaginary ground and his short cape continues to billow and sway in the stillness, and there is certainly enough rustling of his hair by his playful spirits that Spark is constantly being tickled as she sits amongst it. "It may just be some amalgam of all three, my effervescent friend," Eosi replies, his voice a remarkably low baritone for his stature. "It seems someone has stolen the immortality of the fey people of one world...could be fun to steal it back, no?" The Aurori is gentle and patient in tilting his head to and fro, searching with a little curiosity for Lasinga la Veritas who must surely be nearby. Spotting him below, Eosi smirks and makes an effort to look decidedly elsewhere, full-confident with this magician's modus operandi that he must surely be anywhere but in plain sight. Is that him, hiding under that waitress' towel? he wonders, amused at the thought. Turning back to the matter and conversation companion at hand, Eosi shrugs, even as his foot continues to bounce erratically in the air. "Is your master on the prowl for work, or is he already spoken for today? We might have our work cut out for us if the Bitter Titan Company want to claim the job instead..." Eosi pivots to glance briefly over at the table occupied by the mysterious, masked military operatives before focusing again on the contracts on display. The whole process probably has a bit of a near whiplash effect on the poor Spark using his head as a perch. He's encountered the soldiers of Bitter Titan before, and he has remained impressed with how tight-knit they are - it reminds him a little of home - but he inevitably feels unnerved if in their proximity for too long. They never seem to disagree with each other, not that I can tell, at least...it's unnatural.
  13. The barest hint of winter's chill creeps into the Worldsong's Hearth Tavern, likely causing a ripple of shivers from people tugging cloaks tighter about themselves or leaning closer to their cups. Frequent patrons don't need to even glance at the threshold, for they know the source: a short, blanched-blue elf three feet tall carrying a jagged, spindly spear twice his height. Shafted weapons being the awkward encumbrances that they are, sheathing one such as this spear - one made of true ice, with tiny wisps of vapour wafting off to permeate the immediate vicinity - is never really a simple matter, and its bearer is resolved to never let it leave his grasp. Fortunately for those he would otherwise risk bumping into, Eosi, harbinger of the frostbitten plane of Harnfeyld, makes a habit of flying even indoors. For now, he floats between ceiling lights and candelabras as he moseys above several tables to hover above a less crowded portion of the bar. The drop in temperature that heralded his arrival clings to Eosi as he moves, and he's not quite the chattiest of minglers anyway, so the particulars of today's visit could have been foretold by even the most inept of soothsayers. A trail of illusory snowfall follows in his wake, having the visual effect of dissolving before they can hit the ground or anyone below. Firstly, Eosi will order a flagon of freshly warmed mead. Secondly, he will glance around to make polite nods at anyone he has worked with before, without approaching to disturb their conversation. Next, the Aurori will strafe along the wall of contracts, hoping for something to catch his eye as he does so. Finally, he will linger like mistletoe tied to the ceiling directly above his chosen contract, vigilant for potential companions likewise interested in the job. Surely nothing could occur so unpredictably as to derail Eosi's tried and true method for approaching work here on the Nexus, and he whispers his confidence as such in Auran to the invisible spirits circling him, even though they cannot be perceived by the senses of others at present. (With me potentially posting via phone and work laptop across this first week of the game while on school camp, I'll not fuss about with a posting template until I have returned. Art commission should be done by then, too, so thanks for your patience there, team :3)
  14. If Biara has literally been an official Realmwarden for only a few days, Eosi has probably volunteered to be an official mentor, because letting a newbie go out alone and a) get annihilated or b) tarnish the guild's reputation are probably things the guild actively wants to prevent with fresh members. I'll post in-game within the next few hours, but shall leave it vague enough for Biara to decide if she's currently adorning his hand in a mostly leather gauntlet form or what have you :P I am sure I will fight to the death to protect the adorable-sounding Yuki Kuso, but I also cackled when I saw her name, as it can easily translate to Snow Shit hehe.
  15. Seconded re: Rudra's interpretation of AoOs, not AoEs. I can't speak with 100% confidence on Olympia's behalf, as I've only glanced at her sheet, but by and large, it looks like she and Eosi expect to deal most damage as attacks of opportunity rather than during their own turn. They both have several AoOs available per round (Eosi has 14, and in another two levels, will likely be adding another 10 to that total), and they both make use of the Guardian sphere's Patrol mechanic (so can Biara, but how that works in glove form, I'm unsure - I expect that's more a case of granting these abilities to her wearer?). In Eosi's case, he'll be using his standard action each round (unless someone needs resurrecting) to activate his patrol, allowing him to increase the area he threatens to 25ft. He can make AoOs with non-spell-pointed destructive blasts within that range, and he gets an AoO whenever: -an enemy moves out of a threatened square without withdrawing or using 5ft step (like everybody else would, of course) -an enemy uses a ranged attack while in a threatened square (like everybody, again) -an enemy uses a move action in general (like everybody :)) -an enemy attacks an ally who was inside my threat range but doesn't include me in the attack (Eosi and Olympia have this ability, but other characters generally don't) There are several other abilities and synergies that tie in with all these (e.g. I suspect Olympia gets a free offhand attack whenever she uses an AoO), and we have incentive for reserving some of our AoOs per round for defensive stuff, like giving an attacked all an AC buff or taking damage in their place. In Eosi's case, most of his healing in combat is intended to come from spending an AoO at any time to heal someone for between 18-60hp, depending on need, although he has to keep refreshing his protection magic on those he does the full heal on, which means a round without his patrol active. I suppose the implication of how Spark could instigate AoOs for party members would be in terms of manipulating enemies into moving around and near us, because each square in our patrol areas will trigger attacks from us. If creating illusory allies, the fourth dot point in my list above specifically only works when an "ally" is attacked, so would require legitimate reality/substance to the illusion punching bag that an enemy wastes time attacking for that to give us a free attack.
  16. Control + C, Control + V for everything expressed by Adell. I'll add that Eosi's character arc would largely involve him returning to his home plane, which he hasn't gotten around to returning to yet (10 years in mortal form has been an exciting blip compared to several centuries in ethereal/storm form). He still feels connected to his species, but that might be him convincing himself that he is, as his flighty spirits don't talk back. It's very possible his entire race got sucked in or absorbed when he first accidentally Gatewalked, or that it caused them all to become mortal, creating sudden chaos and instability on his world. Not knowing the truth myself as the plane's creator, I'd certainly be interested in encountering any kind of story option back there, but it certainly doesn't need to be explored in this game if plot remains elsewhere :) I try not to look at magical items that are above the starting character level because then I'd end up daydreaming about them, so I am happy to be surprised by whatever we encounter, rather than have a wishlist myself. I would point out that Eosi's masterwork true ice spear is now ready and waiting to be enchanted, but that's a crafting issue, and more to the point, one another party member can handily resolve. I'm looking forward to this interaction in-game a lot :D Especially so because whenever Biara gets too close to Eosi in a weapon form consisting mostly of metal, his spirits get the heeby-jeebies and actively try to prevent him from physically carrying her, so a pantomimed tug of war could happen at any moment, lol
  17. Gear finalised (mostly just bought a foodmaker, +1AC ring and updated Eosi's spear to be made of true ice). Swapped out Community Protection talent, replaced with Distant Protection.
  18. Echoing the others' opinions here :) Eosi can pretend he's a lot closer to certain allies than he truly is for healing/protection spells, but by and large, he's limited to blasting within his patrol radius, so map is needed, I think. I am all for Roll20 and very much a fan of having a Discord server for each game I'm in (I would suggest within that though to have a specific 'live status' channel for out of combat where all players react to a comment to indicate that they're happy to progress onwards with another GM post...I wish I'd done something like this with my own games in the past, so I didn't feel like I was waiting on someone who didn't feel the need to contribute at a given moment). with Guards not stacking, obviously we would waste Guarding each other when we cover ourselves, so let's tackle two other party members each? My preference for Eosi would be either constructs who cannot be raised (he can heal Guard targets easier, so if Eosi keeps their HP up, dealing with the fallout of their unraisable deaths would be best...I'm not convinced my Spirit Mender resurrections work on them), or party members who are likely to be further away from the main party group during combat, because he can cheat proximity for heals on them. The only tweaks I need to make for Eosi at present are finalising his gear/purchases, which should be finished this weekend. I should also flag that I will be supervising a school camp (to my nation's capital, so at least there's signal, lol) the week after next, so will be able to keep updated on posts made by others frequently, but only really get a chance to post at my bedtime (I'm AEDST/Australia, which is GMT+10 at the moment).
