  1. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason shrugged lightly. I'm not going to be translating anything like on Johan's level. But I can hold a fairly decent street level conversation in Mandarin if needed. Picked up a few bits of Korean too, but mostly just for trying to ask a few basic questions. He looked around the area, reminiscing slightly. I got this beat right after I was got released from my FTO. Was around here and the surrounding area for...roughly four years I guess. He pointed down the block with his free hand. That's the restaurant over there.. Kim's Red Dragon. Alleyway is down a little bit further. Then the laundromat, it has two floors of apartments overtop of it. Apartment had a window that overlooked the alleyway right by where the restaurant had there back door to the dumpsters.
  2. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason took his aviators back out of his pocket and slipped them back on. Exiting Christine he gave her a gentle tap and she locks herself up tight. He turned his attention back towards the street and crossing the street into the city's Asiatown. It wasnt early morning, so the businesses were now open and alive with activity. A vibrant energy as the morning sun casts its warm glow upon the bustling streets. The aroma of sizzling woks and steaming dumplings filled the air, enticing passersby with promises of flavorful delights. Streets lined with ornate red lanterns and colorful banners create a picturesque scene, inviting exploration and immersion into the rich tapestry of Asian culture. As the morning progressed, the streets of Asiatown become a lively mosaic of sights and sounds. Local vendors had set up their stalls, proudly displaying a cornucopia of fresh produce, exotic spices, and traditional crafts. The melodic chatter of merchants haggling with customers mixes harmoniously with the occasional clang of pots and pans emanating from the open kitchen windows of bustling restaurants. Locals and visitors alike weave through the vibrant marketplace, their faces animated with anticipation as they sample delicacies and peruse the eclectic array of goods on offer. As the clock inched closer to lunchtime, the tempo of Asiatown quickened, reaching a crescendo of activity. The aroma of sizzling meats and savory broths becomes more pronounced, signaling the impending lunch rush. Families gather at dim sum parlors, eagerly awaiting their turn to indulge in an array of steamed dumplings and savory treats. Meanwhile, noodle shops and barbecue joints bustle with patrons eager to savor authentic Asian flavors. He slipped his arm around one of Marina's as they began to maneuver through the streets. So.. Yeah.. back before I made Detective and was on Patrol. This was part of my regular beat. Spent a lot of time down here. A merchant came out of one of the stalls trying to offer some jewelry, likely to Marina. Jason smiled and politely waved them off with his free hand. Nǐ hǎo, bù, dànshì xièxiè nǐ. He smiled again lightly. Yěxǔ xià cì The merchant paused, surprised for a moment at hearing the response in Chinese. Then just nodded and headed off towards their next potential customer.
  3. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason exhales lightly, as he rested his hands on her hips. Have I told you in the last half hour how luck I am to have you? I feel like I need to make sure to do that on a regular basis. As for the guilt, well that whole genetic inbred Irish-Catholic guilt thing. Don't think I'll ever be able to fully shake it. Keeps the whole "do what makes you happy" thing in check. He gave her a half smile, as he looked at how she was positioned. Shame I didnt go with the parking garage. I could take advantage of this situation so much better. He slipped his hand down and gave her butt a firm grip. But I promise I will not rush into any contracts...I'm not going to take on anything that might hurt you, Nero, or anyone that I consider family. That's been a primary stipulation with all of them. He leaned forward kissed her lightly. Alright mamichula, so unless we're moving this to the back seat, because I doubt the steering wheel jamming in your back is going to work well as a erotic stimulate, should probably focus on why we came here in the first place.
  4. Having run several Gotham City themed games with WoD this managed to catch my eye. Curious to get some more info on plans regarding this and edition.
  5. It is a PTSD flashback. Details mentioned from the scenario can likely be pulled from her in small snippets.
  6. Rackham already has hay and feed comin in. Should be here in the next hour or so. We got some slings ready that we can use too. Like riding in a hammock if we gotta worry about the weather getting a bit windy and rockin the ship. He motioned over to the area that had been set up. I admit I aint the most knowledgeable with transportin' horses. So I'm treatin' a bit like transportin a steam-jack. Just a bit more gentle-like.
  7. Midas nodded and looked over to Rackahm. Get 'em back in a jiffy. The dwarf adjusted the controls and the platform gave a hiss and slowly lifted off the ground again. A gently turn of the dial and the jade crystal glowed again. The platform rose slowly into the ground. Boss almost seemed bored with the concept of the thing moving rather than scared or even jus confused. The horse snorted a bit and just seemed to shrug. A moment or two later the platform would find itself up next to the ship and locked in to allow Boss and Xio to step off and into the cargo hold. Moxi's van was almost secured already. Having straps around all the wheels keeping it very much in place and unlikely to shift at all should the ship start to sway or rock. Alright, there big fella' almost done. He glanced over to Xio. Probably put him on the opposite side. Just for safety. Dont see the wagon comin' loose, but dont need to give a reason for something to cramp the fella either.
  8. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs It's very loud and crowded at times. Those are just the ones that are in my head. Never mind the ones that randomly float around. Generally the stronger ones keep the smaller ones at bay. Doesn't always stop them though. He took the aviators off and ran a hand over his face. I didn't expect her to keep following me. I'd had one other encounter with her after the chopshop. Told her I'd think about it. More to just get her to leave me alone. Like I said, they don't get a lot of human social cues..... Jason turned and looked at Marina. I really didnt mean to have a stray follow me home....Let alone one with impulsive control issues. He folded the aviators and slipped them into his front pocket for a moment. She's a spirit of discord. Troublemaker. Spelled with the big T, not a little t. I seem to have a habit of attracting those more than anything else. She sees us happy and wants to push buttons. Start an argument. She got you flustered. Which is what she wanted. I doubt she even knows the significance of "papi" or even the meaning. Eris can just sense an emotional connection with it, and knew using it would set you off. Jason reached over and took her hand. Again, I'm sorry my... work... is following me home. REALLY sorry in this case. I really didnt think she... It? Maybe I should call them its... Calling "it" a "she" does make it sound like a bad one night stand, that doesnt want to let it go. I dont know. Rati has been better. Most the others are...less problematic. He shook his head. I only even considered it given how powerful she was. Being able to just throw one of these vampires like they're a ragdoll. Drop a car or two on them. It makes this fight so much easier. We could have gone into that fight to rescue Daemon...I could have just chucked that bastard out the window from the start. Right out into the sun. No muss no fuss. If one of those things showed up in our house. Came after you. Could pin it against the wall with the couch.. Jason squeezed her hand again. I just feel losing control of a lot of things right now with work. The suspension is stalled. I havent been fired... but I havent been reinstated either. And that's probably only because they are doing paperwork to make sure I cant turn around and sue them. Firing the officer shot in the line of duty and suffering from PTSD would look bad in the paper. I'm finding myself hitting dead ends with leads. I want to give Eric some peace with his death. I want to be able to protect you. The temptation with Eris is there. I cant lie. To have some sense of control again... She likely could sense all of it for the brief hour or two down there with the temporary deal. Combined with the fact she can see all these others attached like Rati and Coyote. Sees a nice easy ride. Free food. I know the house is okay for awhile with the savings. I know you are okay... even though I still consider this whole situation my fault.... You can tell me fifty times over it was your choice. But I was still involved. I was still the one that asked...I never should have brought you into it. It was wrong on my end.
  9. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs It was Greek. I dont know how I understand it.. Probably because she's still a spirit. Brain translates it. It wasnt Spanish. He sighed a bit. You saw what she did with the trash can. That was minor compared to what she can do. Think of it like telekinesis. But its ...all or nothing. She cant push a penny across the dashboard of the car...so she'll pick up the whole car and chuck it across the street. The implication of throwing cars and the comment about the chopshop location filled with ghouls earlier lingered in the air for a moment. Jason had commented about the location and what had happened. Clearly he'd downplayed it. Trying to keep Marina from worrying. That clearly wasnt going to be so easy to hide now. So yeah... She came in handy. I've done plenty of one-time deals. Most get me information for a murder case. Help me find a weapon. Or a piece of evidence. Generally takes a lot more for me to want to do a more long-term contract. Rati was a learning experience to not just go making those deals. I didnt with Eris because I could tell she was ... trouble. However trouble seems to follow me. In this case very literally. Its like the ones in the townhouse. They could smell me. She seems to have gotten a taste on whatever the essence is produced from the deal and wants more.
  10. As Moxi went to settle the van into place with the other ships crew, Midas would lower the platform back down to the rest of the group. He'd look to Xio with a bit of a smile. Aye, Miss. Your beastie fella' is next. Whenever your ready. I'll take it slow just to make sure it doesnt confuse 'em. He might be the toughest warhorse, but if he'd aint never flown before it still enough to give him a spook. Midas readjusted the controls on the platform. Boss was big, but he wasnt nearly as heavy as the bus was. Having it life off with the same counterbalance could send them all toppling over.
  11. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Eris seemed to giggle slightly at the outburst. Seemed I touched a nerve... She licked a finger with her tongue and made a mark in the air. Eris then sighed and glanced as Juma. Oh joy.. another serious one. Too crowded in this metal carriage. She titled her head over at Jason. I'll be keeping an eye on you... SO much potential for chaos and strife. Mílo tou matioú mouApple of my eye Antio! Eris misted away, leaving behind the scent of apple and cinnamon as the only memory of her having been in the car. Jason just leaned forward and rested his head on the steering wheel. Silently. Waiting for the storm that was Marina's reaction to what just transpired.
  12. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Eris rolled her eyes and sighed again. Toilet paper? Seriously? She flicked her wrist and a trash can in the parking lot seemed to lift out of nowhere and hurtle across the lot and smacked into another car across from them. The car alarm blaring to life. Trash spilled out into the parking lot and started to blow into the wind. A large dent was now in the side of the car door. When's this next Bram's trip? Maybe I should check out this Daemon. Jason says he's an adrenaline junkie. Likes conflict. Blowing stuff up. Sowing discord. General chaos. She grinned wide. My kinda' man. Jason snapped back a bit. Look, Eris... we havent finalized a deal. There isnt a need for you to stick around. No contract bond between us. You offered services that one night. One time. In and out. It was agreed. Nothing beyond that. She rolled in the air again, her hair whipping around with her. A bit of it hitting Marina in the face. It didnt hurt, but it felt weird as the ectoplasm like energy moved across her. Eris smirked lightly, the action likely on purpose. Marina might have noticed that her hair was styled similar to her own as well. But the others have talked you up so much "Papi". The tone and infliction of saying the word seemed to be a mocking tone in mimicking Marina's way of saying it.
  13. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason glanced over at Eris and then past her to Marina. Yes, the concept of privacy and many human norms are lost on most of them... He cleared his throat slightly. There is always an audience... Eris slumped her shoulders a bit. The first time was SOOO good. Exciting....Sneaking into that chopshop. Shooting those ghouls...Then the explosion. So much chaos. That was like a WHOLE week ago... She whined in frustration. He promised me EXCITMENT Jason. She rolled in the air, floating on her back. She glanced at Marina. Do you do anything exciting? Base Jumping? Fight Club? The Knife Game?
  14. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Best I've been able to find on the ones involved in this is the term "Black Court". Seems to imply that at least the vampires we're dealing with are...or more specifically were human. Little more Dracula, than giant bat like monster. Though I'm not so ready to buy the whole garlic, running water, and what not. He finally shifted in the seat and opened the door to exit the car. As for the contract. Eris may have her uses outside of just the vampire thing. Working on a more gentle touch might be a thing... Shes a bit... The mist swirled suddenly from the backseat of the car and twisted in the air. A head suddenly poked from between them from the back. The woman was visible to Marina, though she seemed to have an otherworldly aura about her. Similar to when Rati had made an appearance to her. The woman's eyes glowed like a set of golden coins. The black hair spilled out over her shoulders. The outfit seemed similar to a black stola dress with golden trim. The accent sounded Greek. Though the tone seemed to be that of a moody teenager. Bit what? Bored from all this talking! You could have at least driven faster...Like ten over the speed limit. You followed every traffic law. Took your sweet time getting here. Ugh She rolled her eyes. Before looking over at Marina. Is he always this boring? Calm. Logical. Professional. This Daemon guy I've heard about sounds interesting. Damn it...
  15. As Davin spoke there was the sound of an argument outside for a moment. Then the front door of the tavern opened and three blue robed mages made their way inside the building. The one in the front was older than the other two and seemed to be the lead Astor. The two younger ones looked like they could almost be twins. The only visible difference being their eyes. Both seemed to have hetrochromina, though the sides of the color difference in their eyes was the opposite. The group of mages looked over the tavern before their gaze seemed to set on the group's back table. The three mages moved towards the back table and paused for a moment. The lead Astor keeping himself to the front. Journeyman Davin Creckslant... We would have words with you. He glanced over the others at the table. His expression being less than thrilled. We can speak out back, or find a room.
  16. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Sadly I dont think its an "if". Finding that phone when we rescued Daemon, plus other things I've found with other locations. There is vampire involvement. Its unavoidable. Its just a matter of figuring how deep they're embedded in this mess. If they are just using it to skim a little bit of influence and cash, or if they are running the whole shebang. He pulled the car up into one of the public parking lots just outside of Chinatown. Christine kinda sticks out, so probably walk the rest of the way. Only about three blocks. He put the car into park. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve if we need to deal with vampires again. Last time we had the disadvantage of Daemon already being hurt and captured. Assuming he's going in with his typical adrenaline obsessed self, he should be better in a fight right? I've got another contract I'm looking into...its not subtle to use. But if we're dealing with vampires I don't think we're really worried about subtle anymore.
  17. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs The clown thing was a joke.... never gonna live that down, am I? He turned and looked at her, pushing down the glasses for a moment. Now the nun thing... hmm.. He purred lightly. Sister Marina. I've been a bad little altar boy and I need to seek atonement. What are you going to do with that ruler? He turned back to driving. I'm so going to hell.... He laughed. Alright though, no legal stimulates or other food stuffs. Got it. Now as for what was found, if you are talking about the apartment here. Thats the problem. Not a lot. The place was full of maps, and drugs, and cases. I can only imagine were guns. There were ledgers and all sorts of other paperwork. I went in. I thought I cleared the place. Must have been someone hiding somewhere I thought. Though now that I know there are vamps involved in this mess, they could have been hiding there. Cloaked in the shadows of a corner. Walked right past them. Some other power to make me have ignored them. Of course if it was a vamp, why shoot me. Could have done much worse... Jason stopped the thought process. Remembering what Marina had just said. Either way. By the time anyone checked the apartment again, it was cleared out. Not a scrap of paper or something anyone could find. Like the place never had anyone in it. Name on the lease was fake. Landlord said he only met the guy renting it once. Couldnt remember his face though. Again, might be a bloodsucker with some mind wipe. Dude might just have a forgettable face.
  18. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs I'm sorry. I'm not trying to make you worry. I guess I've stared death in the face a few times. Its different for me. It's clearly different for you too...you see the aftermath on a different level. I've dealt with the families before. Felt their loss. Its what I try and help by finding the monsters... You actually get to talk to the victims. Sorry.... He turned on the signal as they approached the offramp. He tried to shift the conversation back slightly. Like I said, if the jackass would go on a few dates. Make an effort, I'd be less of an asshole in turn with him. I'll do my best to behave if you want me to go though next time. Still pinching your ass if it saunters by though in one of those black skirts you got. So he can deal with it. He smirked slightly. So... we're almost there. Do you need anything else before we try this? A coffee? Something stronger? Again this might be a dead end...so no pressure.
  19. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason just drove for a minute or so in silence as he mulled over his response in his head. Sugar coating things would have Marina see right through him, as would lying. The lying would just annoy her more. Well, I'd hold on for dear life too I guess... He cleared his throat. I'm not the one that didnt take their shot though for several years. I mean, lucky me. Turned out in my favor. He checked the mirrors as he shifted lanes again. But we're adults. I'm always gonna have some feelings for Sarah. Those feelings have changed. They're different now but somethings dont just go away. I get that. You had boyfriends before me. Even if they didn't last. Point is though you moved on. I moved on. Doing that we managed to fall into this crazy life together. You and me.. We're good. Solid. Jason squeezed her hand. I love you. You know that. And I know you love me. If there was any doubt about that, you'd have packed up and run long ago with the mess that I drag home. Rati. All the others. He shook his head. I'm not worried about that. Daemon though. I dont care if its HARD on him. Good. It should be hard on him. The man doesnt seem to WANT to move on. Thats my rub. Gonna always be my rub. He comes across like he just wants to play the long game. Eventually I'll push myself too far. Rati cant fix things. Then he can console the grieving widow scenario. If he actually made some visible effort to look like he wanted to date someone else. Stop pining away. Dude with as much money has he has, plenty of women that would swarm over him with the rugged tough guy act.
  20. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Still waiting on the Miami beach house he promised. No one believes he said it. He was dying in my arms. Why would he lie? Deliver what he offered before, then he can try and throw other money at us. He smirked slightly before it turned back into a bit of a frown. He felt her hand squeeze his, and it lightened a bit. Yeah... We got this. He turned the blinker on and eased onto the highway to head back towards Chinatown. Do ...you want me to try and go with your next time?.....to Brams. He gave a bit of a sigh. I'm..TRYING. If he's trying. He glanced at her for a moment. I'm however not going to keep my hands to myself. I'm going to kiss you if the mood strikes me, I'm gonna run my hand a little to high up your thigh under the table. I'm not gonna shove my hand up your dress and be blatant with some things, because its in public. But I'm not hiding anything either. Assuming he can handle it. Jason glanced at the side mirror as he shifted lanes. You know him and I are never going to be on.... best bud terms. If that happens its likely because the world's on fire. Even then we'll probably be fighting over the last can of beans. But he's your friend. As much as he pisses me off, I don't want to see the bastard wallowing in self-misery. He got a shit hand dealt early on. As bad as my childhood can claim to be, compared to his, I was golden. Sure I generally dont like to see anyone that depressed, but yeah. If hes like that it comes back home with you, because you care about him.
  21. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs I'd have to make sure how the salt is classified. If its something like table salt, and its not something like restaurant or hospitality field it might not. If its the coarse salt, or I think you had a black salt? up on the computer. Something like that, maybe. I'll need to check on some things. Just make sure to keep all the receipts. He glanced to the side, and then the other at the stop sign. Then he made the turn into the larger street out of the subdivision. And good on Daemon. He needs to be happy. He should be happy. Needs to find himself someone else to focus on and give him center. There was a pause. How many things did he blame me for this time? Offered to fix all the problems with money? The question was half serious, half typical Jason snark.
  22. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs A castle for the Queen.... He smiled lightly. Jason leaned over in the seat and just sat his head on her shoulder. Things are just a little bit more messy than I'd like. Wanted to give you the white picket fence lifestyle. Nice and peaceful. Worse thing you had to deal with was the neighbors sprinkler system being off and spraying into the back yard. Or the nosy old lady down the block that always wanted to ask why my car seems to park itself. He sat back upright. I dont deserve you. I should be dead so many times over. So many different things in life. ... Just thank you for being you. He put Christine into drive and pulled out of the drive. So... should I ask about your day? Ask how Bram's went last night.
  23. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason smiled lightly against the feel of her lips. All the stress and drama was worth it for just a brief feel of her against him. He tried to let the encounter with the spirit melt into the background of his mind. Ready as ever. Figured you just got lost in the new house. Still confused with all the extra rooms. Get turned around. Still need a map. Nero is in there, so I wasn't worried yet. He slipped a hand around her waist and gave her a squeeze before he pulled away and tapped the top of Plymouth. The door popped open for Marina as Jason moved around to the drivers side. Once in the car he looked over to her again. Are you sure about this? I dont know what's going to happen here. Even less so than you. Your powers. I know you want to help because its my baggage. This is also illegal. I dont have any power right now to actually be in the apartment. I made friends with the landlord though after the shooting. Its still vacant. The shooting hasnt helped them get anyone that wants to jump into a rental. Mostly untouched. They can look the other way, but if anyone calls about activity.. we're gonna need to scram. He sighed. I've already got you in enough of a bind...Got you dirty enough in this vendetta. His tongue clicked inside his cheek.
  24. Jason Holloway Spiritmancer - Detective High Concept: Cleveland's Fallen Son Trouble: Debts Up To His Eyeballs Jason leaned against Christine as he smoked one of the cigarettes required from the weekly contract deal. He still wasn't sure how he felt this idea. Marina's powers however were expanding and he was finding dead ends on several of his leads. The vampires being involved in the police corruption explained a lot, but it always made them that much meticulous at cleaning up their tracks. Another man walked up and leaned against the car across from Jason. He was dressed in a purple colored suit. It was well tailored and showed not a single crease out of place. His accent was heavily African. His eyes hidden behind a pair of round sunglasses, also with a similar purple tint. A spider like set of cufflinks decorated the ends of his sleeves. Are you sure you wish to go down this path? There is hesitation in your mind. We can all sense it. Jason glanced over at the man in the purple suit. Didn't expect to get a lecture in person today. The other man smiled lightly. Well, there has been a lot going on lately. The house purchase. The suspension... The guilt that you feel as it has affected her is like a anchor around your neck. The "mud" as you like to call it, got her dirty too. Now you are looking into this private investigator profession as an alternative if things do not work out with your current police employer and being reinstated. Helping her on medium jobs. The shadow hunter is back and she's gone to see him on occassion once more. I am not sure which is thicker in your mind. The guilt or the disdain. There was a brief pause, as he tilted his head at Jason Now you are looking to take back your lover to the place where this all began...Open old wounds. We would be remiss if we didn't question your motives here. Jason finished the cigarette and tossed it on the ground. He ground it into the asphalt with his shoe. I appreciate the concern from the "Spirit Crew" but everything is good. As good as it can be anyways. The detective job after getting shot was likely only going to last but so long anyways. Add in these powers. It was on a countdown anyways. Would never have lasted. At least I got to do a little more good before it went to hell. But I cant let the corruption thing go. Even if I'm not part of CCPD anymore. Not after they killed Eric. He deserves justice. If I'm suspended, I need to use the tools at my disposal. Especially as its become more and more obvious I'm dealing with blood suckers too and not just a bunch of dirty cops. He shook his head a bit. M wants to help. Maybe she can find something with her sight that was missed by more mundane methods.. Besides.. Aren't you a trickster spirit? Why do you care? The man chuckled lightly. Trickster yes, but also knowledge and wisdom. The fact that I'm here also implies you are seeking some of it. I tried to steal all the world's wisdom once. It didn't work out so well. Perhaps it suits me better to provide it, compared to hoard it. Jason lifted an eyebrow at the man from behind his sunglasses. Suddenly you all want to start showering me with wisdom and helping me make decisions? You'll excuse me if I'm a bit hesitant to believe that. The man shook his head. You know that Rati has evolved. Her urges are different now for you. You know that we have allowed certain...gifts to be received without payment should the situation warrant it. The time with you, has been longer than any contract that most of us have experienced. Its... different. There is a certain fondness.... You mean you've gotten cozy and would rather sit around and get me to payout the rest of my lifetime rather than all of you go looking for another meal ticket... The man shifted a bit. I can not lie that the arrangement is...convenient. But you more than anyone should know about arrangements, developing into something..more. Touche.. He scratched his nose with his middle finger. Look. This might not amount to anything. It might crack open something wider. I just need to know that I've covered every possible option. There was so much at the apartment the night it happened. They cleared everything out. Maybe she can see the echo of something. A name, an address. Anything that might open up something I've been missing. The man pushed off the car. We will continue to aid you. That part is not in question. Just... perhaps... slow down. Enjoy the time you have. You seek answers. You know when you find it, there will be no going back. Your friend is dead. As cold as that may sound. He can not die anymore. Another few days...weeks. Do not burn yourself out. You will do yourself no good. Your mate. Or.. Us. There it is. Looping back to feeding you all again. The man shrugged and smirked. There was a flicker and the man seemed to collapse into a swarm of spiders that scattered off in a hundred different directions at once. Damn Ananasi.. Jason looked back to the house waiting for Marina.
  25. Doallyn McClare / Royal Tactician & Conjurer Male - Human Noble - Neutral Good Wizard (Conjurer) 1 / Duskblade 1 Initiative + 1 / Hit Points: 13 / Speed: 30ft Armor Class: 14 / Touch: 11 / Flat-Footed: 13 Will + 5 / Reflex +1 / Fortitude +3 Doallyn looked to the Healer Dwarf once again. His face despondent as the topic shifted to this. The attack was sudden and under the cover of magical darkness. No one really could see much. Racanna's invocation allowed her to see thing better but... Racanna had already started to tremble. The potion from Shade that had been in her hand, tumbled to the ground and the bottle rolled across the floor. She shook and her eyes went wide as the memory of the attack played back through her mind like it was happening all over again. Doallyn shifted on his boots and knelt down next to her. He put a hand on hers, though she seemed elsewhere as the events replayed. Her eyes glazing over and the tears welled. Her painted nails dug into the chair to the point it started to scratch into the finished wooden frame. Her body moved and started to climb up the chair. She swung at the creature that wasnt there. Doallyn having to lean back to avoid being clocked upside the face from her wild punch. The massive horse like frame of the beast. The three eyes gleaming at her. Its breath was foul and acidic, her face contorted as the corrosive smell filled her nose again. She still tried to move back up the chair more still, the weight finally having her fall back to the floor. She screamed a bit as she pushed back against the massive weight of the creature in her mind. The fur was coarse and wiry in-between her fingers. The claws held her down, her legs kicking in a futile effort to wiggle free. She'd been a skilled escape artist but the creatures size was like a bulky mass just pinning her into the floor. It was more though, like the shadows clinging around it body pushed down with it also adding to the already terrifying form. Doallyn slid across the floor to try and keep close to her as the trauma unfolded. He didnt try to stop her, but more keep her from hurting herself. Her mouth opened in an empty hollow scream as the images and the sensation of the long sender maw, lunged from the swirling darkness and clamped at her throat. The teeth ripping into her flesh. The burning pain. The air escaping her lungs. She tasted blood. It was her own. She grabbed at her throat tight, trying to stop the bleeding that wasnt there. The existing wounds that her body felt mixed with the memory playing out to only fuel things like it was still real. She convulsed and gasped for air. She saw the purple lights as her vision was hazy. They ripped through the darkness towards Doallyn. She tried to call his name. It failing as the blood squirted from her neck. Doallyn... Tears flowed like a river as the memory finally started to give back way to reality. As Racanna suddenly realized what was going on, she turned and buried herself into Doallyn's chest. Grabbing at his duster she tried to pull herself into it like a blanket that might protect a scared child from the monster in the closet. She wailed and began to sob, the scream echoing through the room and down the hall. Her body nearly becoming limp and sliding off the chair and into him more. Doallyn just cradled her and let her cry. Somehow she managed a few words through the rapid breathing and bawling. Cloaked men...The monster beast....then the purple lights came after you...Doallyn... Dont leave me.... Doallyn stroked her back in an attempt to try and comfort her. His gaze looking back to Elektra once again. One of the assailants had a special blade and used a poison when they tried to... gild me... Thankfully their aim was a bit off. The healer Mordren is still researching it. If they find out the poison more specifically, it may help narrow down the source. He frowned again, as he just rocked with Racanna for a bit, her body still trembling.
