  1. I'm going to say so. I ended up losing alot of data off my HDD including all my tabletop PDF. That and losing two players sort of killed the drive I had for this game unfortunately. I would like to replicate the experiment, but I'm not a huge fan of Baldr and need some more experience in it.
  2. Hello everyone, sorry for the last update. My internet recently has been acting very spotty at work (which is where I do 90% of my Myth-Weaving) and I've been boggled down with work. I will update later today. I also wanted to ask what we wanted to do about the missing player? We lost two so far, and while I can run this with three people. It would be considerably tougher and it's also the idea of dragging another person in just for the possibility of happening again. Just let me know if you rather keep it 3 or if I should find a 4th?
  3. Get the bad rolls out first atleast! I'm honestly the same way.
  4. Galena and Tal are left waiting as Dolin pushes to the front of the crowd, many of them easily separating for the armored dwarf to push their way in.  Dolin can see that the monument has been vandalized for the most part, a darkened red stains the statue with a color profile similar to blood and after inspecting it a bit more, you can verify that it is. Splotches cover the monument whose plaque reads several names about 25 of them, displayed at the top is: HARROWSTONE MEMORIAL But piques your interest Dolin is not that but the obvious letter written in blood overtop the plaque. The letter 'V'. Returning to the group, you all headed towards the Temple of Kelevmor. Tal stops one of the acolytes that seem to hold higher station than the other although you reckon Father Grimburrow is most likely inside somewhere.  The acolyte looks surprised at your request and looks to the other two following behind you, Tal. "Er... sorry we do have those records in our archives, but sharing in such things without permission from Father Grimburrow and no offense with complete strangers is out of the question."
  5. Kendra would cook breakfast for anyone that asks of it allowing you to do what you want during the day. You're not entirely sure if she wants to know about the investigation or if you should tell her that you're heading to Harrowstone. As you all prepare and head for the Temple of Kelevmor, you come across a commotion as a group of villagers all stand towards the sound end of town. A cursory glance reveals an 8 foot statue of a proud, muscular human, dressed in leathers and wielding a truncheon. The plaque that shows the dedication is obstructed by all the townspeople. What is most interesting is the new hint of red that has been added to the state that seeps off, whether it'd be paint or blood. The temple of Kelevmor comes into view, devoted to the god of death himself, the temple is one of the more elaborate buildings in town. It's eastern façade displays an intricate stained-glass mural depicting a stern Kelevmor judging a man. There are a dozen acolytes at any given time coming and going from the temple.
  6. Hey, guys got a little sick over the last few days. Bought to head to bed now but I'll be posting tommorow.
  7. Kendra Lorrimor Kendra gives you lodging for the night and for the rest of your time in Ravengro, "It's the least I can do for friends of my father. Don't mind me while I attend to things. It'll be good to have someone else in this house for a little bit." Galena, your investigation into the matter involves going to the local pub and getting a good look of the villagers. You see Gibbs for only a few moments, and you can see each of them is drinking their worries away and while never getting too active you get the feeling that they all are spooked. What they are spooked about, you don't know. Either way your presence seems to make them feel wary as you catch whispers and wandering eyes when they think you aren't looking.  The rest of you tuck in for the night, with the rain making light noise on the windows. Dolin, as you lie there attempting to go to sleep your mind wanders to the Whispering Way. You remembered hearing stories about them especially around Tar-Baphon, the Whispering Tyrant, now their exploits have been summarized into fairytales as monsters to tell children as warnings. But in reality they were more than that, they were deadly necromancers and it is your duty nay your right to exterminate them.
  8. Just let me know if I'm good to resolve the night actions!
  9. Hey, everyone happy Monday from the states. Was gone most of this weekend. The professor's house has more than enough rooms, and Kendra would allow you to stay especially since it's her father's request that you make sure she's fine handling everything.
  10. It's evening currently, but you have been traveling most of the day so it feasible you'd retire early. You can still do something but it's something I can explain in a post and maybe not a whole new scene.
  11. Another bout of researching and properly using the library would be about a 6-hour stretch. Since now we're getting into intense researching at this point you could research and gain a +2 bonus for using the library on researching The Whispering Way or you could you try to investigate Harrowstone although you wouldn't get the bonus for using the library.  The trade off would be is that if you work through the night, you'll take a level of Exhaustion until you get a proper rest in which may/may not be an issue.
  12. @X51  I think the results of the investigation roll could dig up something.  @KnaveYou can certainly try to break it but yes you may damage the contents of the book.  @RumrunnerLet's leave the Temple for tommorow as people have voiced that they want to go as a group and it's starting to get late.
  13. @Rumrunner and @Knave with Galena going off to investigate, and Dolin taking the moment to head to bed and wind down. Go ahead and give me your remaining actions for the night so I can move us into the next day.
  14. @X51 since you're trying to get a lock on them, roll Investigation.  You can purchase Thieves Tools in town, but Rumrunner is right as in you don't get the money until the month (and most likely the adventure is over).
  15. Several items in the Compendium have been added or adjusted including the very important Research Progress handout. Plus a post in the main topic, researching any further for more information will take up the day. Petros' library isn't the only one in town as the town hall has archives and the temple has some documentation as well.
  16. OoC Katrina is making a researching attempt this information will take a while to retrieve as you are using the library in order to help your attempt.  The Whispering Way is a sinister organization of necromancers that has been active in the Inner Sea region for thousands of years. Agents of the Whispering Way often seek alliances with undead creatures, or are themselves undead. The Whispering Way’s most notorious member was Tar-Baphon, the Whispering Tyrant, although the society itself has existed much longer than even that mighty necromancer. You could attempt to research more but it would take a shift of time, roughly most of the day. But you know there is still more to figure out about the Whispering Way.  Everyone gains 30 EXP each for what they discovered so far. Tal, when you turn to look at Kendra it seemed she had already departed although you recall it seemed that there was still items left in the crypt. That being said you have full free reign currently.  Flipping through the tomes this is what you would all discover: Purple Book: The book’s covers are rimmed in polished steel and clasped with a small but intricate lock, the keyhole of which appears to be for a key with a strange, triangular shaft.  On Verified Madness: This jet-black book is a treatise on aberrations and other entities found on Golarion that possess remote ties to the Dark Tapestry, the name given to the dark places between the stars in the night sky. Serving Your Hunger: This text is a copy of one of several unholy books sacred to the goddess Urgathoa. Lorrimor’s notations liberally sprinkle the margins. The Umbral Leaves: This lexicon is a translation into Common of the unholy book of Zon-Kuthon.
  17. So an initial check of Knowledge (Religion) about the Whispering Way would work.  You have a library and several other means to research. You also all know where HARROWSTONE is located outside of town.  Trying to gain additional information past your initial thoughts would require to spend the day (or night) researching. Ill update the compendium with some interesting stuff when I can this weekend. But feel free to make that check and proceed with your adventure.
  18. You all open the book and recognize the writings of Petros from the makeup and mark of it all; it seems to be a journal that he had kept. Partially as a research log into his various investigations as well as some musings he may of had in general. There are countless pages within the journal dating back all the way to ten years. Your both able to see an unfiltered version of your former friend/mentor's thoughts. A trend you notice is that there is a number of entries that are circled within the journal. Quickly sifting through there are six in total. An odd recurring theme for such a huge timeline. The Circled Entries Ten Years Ago The Whispering Way is more than just a cabal of necromancers. I see that now. Undeath is their fountain of youth. Uncovering their motivation does not place me at ease as I thought it might. Their desire to be eternal simply makes them more dangerous Two Months Ago It is as I had feared. The Way is interested in something here in Ravengro. But what could it be? One Month Ago Whatever the Way seeks, I am now convinced their goal is connected to Harrowstone. In retrospect, I suppose it all makes sense- the stories they tell about the ruins in town are certainly chilling enough. It may be time to investigate the ruins, but with everyone in town already being so worked up about them, I’d rather not let the others know about my curiosity—there’s plenty of folks hereabouts who already think I’m a demonologist or a witch or something. Ignorant fools. Twenty Days Ago It is confirmed. The Way seems quite interested in something- no, strike that— someone who was held in Harrowstone. But who, specifically, is the Way after? I need a list of everyone who died the night of the fire. Everyone. The Temple of Kelevmor must have such a list. Eighteen Days Ago I see now just how ill prepared I was when I last set out forthe Harrowstone. I am lucky to have returned at all. The ghosts, if indeed they were ghosts (for I did not find it prudent to investigate further) prevented me from transcribing the strange symbols I found etched along the foundation— hopefully on my next visit I will be more prepared. Thankfully, the necessary tools to defend against spirits are already here in Ravengro. I know that the church of Kelevmor used to store them in a false crypt in the Restlands at the intersection between Eversleep and the Black Path. I am not certain if the current clergy even know of what their predecessors have hidden down below. If my luck holds, I should be able to slip in and out with a few borrowed items. Seventeen Days Ago Tomorrow evening I return to the prison. It is imperative the Way does not finish. My caution has already cost me too much time. I am not sure what will happen if I am too late, but if my theory is right, the entire town could be at risk. I don’t have time to update my will, so I’ll leave this in the chest where it’ll be sure to be found, should the worst come to pass.
  19. Kendra leads all of you upstairs as she quickly bids farewell to Adivion. The study of the Professor is seemingly untouched since the last time Petros was most likely here, a desk of several papers lay scattered about. Several big bookshelves tower over you and even more so a wall of sketches that seemingly chronicle many of the adventures Petros had over the years. Kendra Lorrimor "Here we are." She points to a trunk that sits just by the desk. She rests the key atop of the desk before turning. "This was not meant for my eyes, father hated having me in here. I'll leave you to it." She stops by the exit before turning to Tal; "What happened to my father was an accident. Decaying architecture. Nothing more." Using the key, it easily fits into place giving a click to indicate it has been unlocked. The trunk opens up with a pile of tomes. The newest tome sits on the top bearing a small note attached to it that read simply "read me first". The next three tomes seemed to be the dark tomes mentioned before, they have contact information noted on them for the University of Lepistradt if they need to be returned there. The last one seems to be a manual on an order of some sorts, it has contact information for one Embereth Daramid. Which you know as the person who has your inheritance, when you go collect it. The first-tome is leatherbound and much less ornate than the rest.
  20. So some parts you missed from being introduced towards the end of the funeral.  No one has told you have how the Professor died.  The villagers tried to attack the party and stop the funeral cause they said the Professor was a necromancer.
  21. We may have lost one or two people, but I mean there isn't a mission per say on the table right now. But if you go aggressively investigating you'll find the plot threads.
  22. Vashian Hearthmount Vashian chuckles at the end of it raising his own cup before finishing it. "Well with that, Kendra I'll take my leave." He gives everyone a wave and makes for the door; "Oh, I heard there was some trouble on the Dreamwake this morning. People here are a little more easily spooked these days. Best ye' don't make yourselves any trouble when you're down here. Friendly advice." He puts his coat and hat on before exiting.      Kendra Lorrimor Kendra nods at Tal pointing upstairs; "Father's study" she simply says as she fills up Dolin's drink once more before imbibing in her own drink. "I cannot believe that they had the gall to interrupt a funeral."   Adivion Adrissant Adivion nods sipping his drink as he cradles the new book of the Whispering Tyrant in his hands; "The ignorant will always beget more ignorance. Doesn't matter the circumstances around Petros' death. Prison or not." He gets up stretching; "I'm afraid I have some work I need to get back to, Kendra. But I leave you in the capable hands of these fine fellows."
  23. Vashian Hearthmount When everyone is seated and no longer trying to run off, he makes a nodding motion. Sifting through his coat, he brings out tiny glasses which he places on his massive face and breaks the seal on the paper. "Today we are gathered for the reading of the will of the late Petros Lorrimor. Joined by his daughter Kendra, and other company. " With the seal broken, he places the paper on the table in front of all of you as it slowly starts to unfold itself. Then the booming voice coming of what you can distinctly tell is Petros Lorrimor. "He was always one for theatrics, Petros" Last Will of Petros Lorrimor “I, Petros Lorrimor, being of sound mind, do hereby commit to this parchment my last will and testament. I'm glad that hopefully my daughter and my former compatriots and wards are present. As of this time of the writing of said will, I have not yet seen you in many of years and worry that I may not see you again before my death. Let it be known that, with the exception of the specific details below, I leave my personal belongings entire to my daughter, Kendra, specifically the house. Use it or sell it as you see fit, my child. Yet beyond the bequeathing of my personal effects, this document must serve other needs. I have arranged for the reading of this document to be delayed until all principals can be in attendance, my friends we have not spoken in a long time and yet I have two final favors to ask. Please consider indulging an old foolish man one last time.  I hate to impose upon you both, but there are few others who are capable of appreciating the true significance of what it is I have to ask. As some of you know, I have devoted many of my studies to all manner of evil, that I might know the enemy and inform those better positioned to stand against it. For knowledge of one’s enemy is the surest path to victory over its plans. I have tried most of my life to shelter my daughter and students from this. But most if not all of you have seen the evil out there. And so, over the course of my lifetime, I have seen fit to acquire a significant collection of valuable but dangerous tomes, any one of which in the wrong circumstances could have led to disaster. While the majority of these tomes remain safe under lock and key at the Lepidstadt University, I fear that a few I have borrowed remain in a trunk in my Ravengro home. While invaluable for my work in life, in death, I would prefer this to be dedicated to a better cause. I'd ask that you settle an old man's debt, please deliver them to the University of Lepistadt. Secondly, I would ask that the lot of you would also delay your journey by a month in order to assist Kendra with anything she may need in the aftermath of my death. Of this I would be appreciative. I'm sure Kendra will not mind our home playing the role of your home for the next month.  But on the matter of money, I have also willed to each of you a sum of one hundred platinum coins. For safekeeping, I have left these funds with Embreth Daramid, one of my most trusted friends in Lepidstadt—she has been instructed to issue this payment upon your arrival. Finally, to my greatest student Adivion Adrissant. I wish I had more to give you but as of writing this will, I've been informed that you have held the mantle of Loremaster of Caliphas for a few years now. For you I have left a leather bound first edition of the Legend of Whispering Tyrant. This story used to be a favorite when you were a young student. I hope the lessons you've taken from it still ring true in your soul. And with that. That is that. Goodbye my daughter, I'll miss you friends. Kelevmor guide my spirit onward. "
  24. Vashian Hearthmount Mayor Hearthmount raises a finger at you, Tal. "The deceased wished for the will to be read in the company of his daughter, his former disciple Mr. Adrissant, and those who arrived specifically in Ravengro for my funeral. For in the result of my death will be contacted and notified therefore." He takes a cup of tea delicately sipping it in his large hands. "Looks like Professor Lorrimor had more he wanted to say to you after all."
