medium-daredevil-charlie-cox-matt-murdock-newtvps492-original-imag522dhfsjuhb8.jpeg?q=90&crop=falseSergio really didn't like that thing he just heard. Why would a bankrobber say something like 'Leave that backpack right where it is'. Did he bring it himself? Did one of the Samaritans bring it?

That's making things worse. Sergio starts thinking in terms of finding ways to take these down quickly and quietly. He shifts his head toward Orange, reaching back for his cane.

"Look, ah - not for nothin' but all this moving around and excitement? Kind of have to hit the can. If it helps, once we get there I can find my own ass. Just need to get to the men's room in the first place."

Well, there goes the keeping this quiet. Could be worse than Nico though. Boz just smiles with a little bow.

"Too right, Nico. Too right. A skill not used is a lesson wasted, or something like that." he gives. It's true though, Boz has felt for a long time now that when it comes to Magic, something was going to waste. It was probably too late to ever reach true potential but as it was something in him was outright rotting on the vine. It didn't feel pleasent. Best to change that.

Besides, imagine the kind of mischief a thief can get up to when their skills with skullduggery are *literially* magic.

Nico then tests the mirror and the familiar and Minerva drops that it's only vampiric beings that don't care reflections, for the most part. Boz pats him on the shoulder a bit.

"I thought it was worth a shot, learn something new every day - aye?"

medium-daredevil-charlie-cox-matt-murdock-newtvps492-original-imag522dhfsjuhb8.jpeg?q=90&crop=falseNow was going to be a tricky part. He'll have to figure out what they're doing to the hostages before he can make a move, at least get some of them seperated. Time to keep things going. Sergio shifts his head around like he's trying to locate the voice.

"You're going to have to take me there, for obvious reasons." Sergio gives with a shrug. Even if he could see his direction would be a bit off.

He wasn't doing this out of spite, honest! Well, maybe a little. But it was plausibe.

medium-daredevil-charlie-cox-matt-murdock-newtvps492-original-imag522dhfsjuhb8.jpeg?q=90&crop=falseThat little mystery solved, Sergio can't help but think that he's hit an "in" he can use. He turns his head and smiles. He *thinks* he has an "in". He did say he wasn't a movie buff. Maybe it was good enough?

"Tarintino? Did he do 'From Dusk Till Dawn'?" he genuinely asks, unaware that the movie was actually done by Tarintino frequent collaborator Rodriguez. He was in the movie as one of the main characters and helped write the screenplay, so much be close enough.

"Loved the Soundtrack. I still use 'After Dark' as a warm up." he gives, shaking his head a bit.

    "Shame I don't have a Guitar, I'd show you."

Minerva gave a little genuine smile, Boz responds with friendly comically fake shock. The kind where you know that the next words that come out of his mouth will obviously be a lie.

"A 'Guild'? I have no idea what you might be talking about." he gives with a grin and a little bow. Now, her bringing up a connection to Hecate, that raises an eyebrow. He did say he knew a thing or two about moral flexibility.

"Well, one thing I do already know about Magic is that most of it is just knowing something that the people around you don't. Or at least knowing somefink that nobody knows you know. I mean, I'm not an expert on Magic or Gods - but doesn't Hecate prefer a certain type of person for prayin'? And I don't just mean Witches." he gives with a scratch of the back of the head. If he was remembering correctly, doesn't Hecate prefer Women as worshippers?

"Let's keep it simple for now and build slowly, but sounds like we got the basics of something, aye?" he gives, taking the hand to give it a shake. A little Give and Take, a little Quid Pro Quo - aye?

medium-daredevil-charlie-cox-matt-murdock-newtvps492-original-imag522dhfsjuhb8.jpeg?q=90&crop=falseWell obviously Sergio can't possibly know what's going on beyond knowing that his little bit of charm didn't work. With nobody talking directly to him of course he can't possibly know that he's who "Orange" is supposed to round up. He's still just feeling around for his cane and glasses.

Does take him a second to place the naming scheme and when he does he looks up toward the ceiling in confusion. At least he "finds" his glasses.

"Wait, that sounds familiar." he gives, managing to find his cane by "chance" and putting it together. Everything is crazy, best to keep everyone calm. Or at least keeping them guessing with each other and not the hostages.

"Obviously I'm not a movie buff, but isn't that a Reservior Dogs reference? I'm I remembering that right? Don't they all Die by the end?"

Alright, alright - think. For now, he'll have to let himself be gathered to keep from giving the game away. Just - have to think. Maybe he can get a few seperated out, then let out the Demon.

medium-daredevil-charlie-cox-matt-murdock-newtvps492-original-imag522dhfsjuhb8.jpeg?q=90&crop=falseSergio winced a bit at the sudden crashing noises and gunshots. You think it was loud now, try being in a room with that when you have superhuman hearing. He was glad that a little filtering came with the package, at least after a little practice. The shouting, the demands, what’s a person to do?

That’s the problem with a power like Super-Hearing. You no longer get to have the benefit of ignorance. Quiet little whimpers of fear sound like begging and pleading to him, and deep down he had something under the spite and rage. Empathy. What do they say? A Cynic is ultimately a Disappointed Idealist?

He starts by quietly taking off his shades, showing that his eyes underneath were milked over and had old chemical burn scars across them. Then he slowly puts his hands up and turns around. What’s one blind guy going to do, right?

Sorry, sorry. I can’t find my cane.” He gives, moving a little slow compared to everyone else. Obviously he wouldn’t be looking straight at them, best he could do is fumble around. A hand on the back of the seat, he does fumble a bit like he is trying to comply, just with his blindness cane. Sounds like they do have a designated leader taking charge, he might be able to work with that.

Hey, Buddy. My name is Sergio Pearson. I don’t know if you’ve heard of me.” He starts, almost amused by the situation about how this was going to be his first invoking of his status as a rockstar. Heh.

I’m a musician. Just got a record deal with a bigger label, I have a couple albums out. Enough material for another one if you put together b-sides and covers. So I’m thinking that there’s a good chance that I’m your most valuable hostage here, and probably one of the easiest to manage. And obviously there’s no way I can see your face. What do you think about letting some of these other people go?”

Oh, not just Hecuba. When Minerva does her little trick to grab her coin bag of course everyone can watch the bag float to her hand. Boz might have been the only one that could watch the hand going out to the bag though, the invisible force looking like a hand made out of vibrant energy to him.

It, uh, might have given the game away a bit.

Still though, with the job laid out of course he has to smile as he quietly consults with Nico, his bruv-with-another-muv.

"So 25 gold and a free boatride, 10 up front, and all we have to do is *not* rob that guy? Think we can manage that. The guild will get it's cut if we go for anyone else." he gives with a chuckle. Alright, in fairness part of the job was making sure the junior priest didn't get robbed but still! Who was the most likely to rob him anyway?

As they went over to the Hook and Bar, Minerva comes over and asks him one of the big questions point blank. His first impulse? Sell the lie harder.

"Neva' said I was a Clown. I said I was an Acrobat an'..."

Right then, a wicked idea crosses Boz's brain. Pretty good one actually, he thought so at least. He looks to the sides to make sure nobody else is listening except maybe Nico.

"Alright, I'll tell *you* because as a Witch you get Moral Flexibility an' that a proper workin' relationship means havin' a little Give and Take. We can cut a Deal or two, aye?" he starts, taking a breath before he actually gets ready to tell the truth to someone outside the Family for once. Or close to it at least.

"Not an Acrobat. I'm kind of amazed none of you thought 'ay, wait a tick - when was the last time we even had a circus?' Pssh." he gives with a low chuckle.

"Nico and I weren't lying earlier. We did get the kind of education you get from the streets, aye? Jus' never used them to entertain the kiddies. Way I figure it, I'm what happens when someone who was supposed to be a Mage doesn't get their proper Academy Schoolin'. Bastard son of a Wizard or somefink' like that. I just know that I can See Magic. Always have. It's just an 8th Color on the Rainbow for me.

So what if we Favor Bank this, aye? You teach me some proper Magic, I teach you some of My skills too? Or just pay you back in Favors?"

"Pretty sure the Guild won't mind, as long as we keep the code and they get their percentage - aye?" Boz had responded to that job possibility with a bit of a twinkle in his eye. Maybe there was also a little bit of naked Greed but he's a Thief. What do you expect? At least he was among his people, though whether it was Nature or Nuture that he became a Thief is obviously up for debate.

And at that meeting was a subtle bit of evidence for Nuture and that Boz's Nature should be something else. Minerva and her Owl were of course getting attention, but Boz's eyes say that he's seeing something a little different. It takes him a second to figure out what he's seeing, it was like this fog or energy was skitting between the two of then and - Oh, he's looking at a Familiar.

Stop it, before you give too much of the game away.

"And yeah, pretty much the same here. Right Tragic Upbringings, we had. Still, between that and the circus you'd be surprised the skills you pick up, aye?" he gives with a matching bow of his own.

  10. The Shriek

medium-daredevil-charlie-cox-matt-murdock-newtvps492-original-imag522dhfsjuhb8.jpeg?q=90&crop=falseSergio believed that the relationship between Talent and Management in the Music Industry should always been at least somewhat adverserial. That's why when his manager Earnst Featherfall wanted him to be somewhere he made it a point to always been either at least a half-hour late or a half-hour early. Nothing in between.

At least this time it wasn't for a gig. Earnst finally talked him into opening an actual bank account and he felt stupid. At least he could rest assured that this clown at the desk probably felt worse. He smirked, just to savor the moment.

Those familiar with Soverign City's music scene might actually recognize him. Sergio Pearson, a local boy done good. Sort of. A rising star in the music scene who played a bluesy-rock guitar like he made a deal with the devil for his fingers. The common belief was that the main thing holding him back from national stardom was that Sergio had a bad combination of artistic purity and being completely blind since just about birth. Those that have their ears closer to the ground, or even actually know him, know that a bigger issue then both of them was that Sergio Pearson was a creature of sarcism, spite, and he had a nasty temper when it did come out.

"Mr. Pearson, it would probably go easier if we waited for your business associate."

"Probably. But I'm Talent and he's Management. There has to be some friction just on principle." the blind man chuckles. The guy does too really, a little gift.

"Well, our Braille reader is - alright, I'll admit it. We can't find it. Pretty sure it's in a storage closet somewhere."

"Well I ain't signing anything without reading it first. Or Earnst getting here and him reading it. I'll wait."

Was he enjoying this? Yes - yes he was.

Yep, noticed that too. Mathematically speaking just the Sonic Blast by itself's damage wasn't *terrible* but not great either. The punch though should have done way better.

Racket - Thief | Spells Prepared | Skills | Sneak Attack| Extra Space Here

Well, he liked it here. He could see his career requiring him to head somewhere larger at one point, but for now Port Torvin was home. Port Torvin was home and the Guild was Family. A few days ago he was running a bit short on funds, sure - but what does someone like him do when he's short on funds? Goes out and Steals some, of course.

Oh, don't look like that. Port Torvin's local Thieves Guild was right respectable, it was. This wasn't random crime and cruelty for no reason, this was thieves using their heads and bein' organized about this. You know when the last time was that the Guild killed someone for somethin' other then Self-Defense? Honest question, if it's ever happened Boz didn't know about it either. Professionals, have Standards. Rules. Do this nice and proper, aye?

Boz has that hungry look in his eyes of someone that's had to work, or steal, for everything he's had in life. He keeps his eyes open, his knives sharp, and his mind racing just to survive and it kind of shows. Tends for darker clothing with hoods and often walks on the balls of his feet just out of habit. A bit on the short side with short hair, but also a bit on the handsome side so it kind of evens out. His face always has a smirk on it like he's on the inside of a joke nobody else was. Maybe he was. Seemed that way sometimes.

And the night Boz heard of the job, he was in the middle of another one. Not alone, always best to at least work a job in a pair. Someone can keep on the detail work while someone else keeps eyes open. The dark of night never did bother him too much, there was a joke that he had some Catfolk blood in him but Boz knew the truth. Yeah, he did have something special in his eyes and in his blood - but that's not what was it.

"Hold on, bruv. Something wrong with the Lock."

The day Boz realized that he could naturally see Magic when most others couldn't was an interesting one. And he hasn't told many people about it sense. Magic door lock. Not by a lot. Could just make an alarm noise if someone messes with it without the key, maybe it's just harder to pick. Something like that. Either way, Boz goes for going around the side. The front door lock had a spell on it maybe but not the employee entrance. That was a harder pick, but it worked.

The job news came from when they fenced the prizes. Of course, thieves talk among themselves. He couldn't think of any particularly good scores on the horizon so it didn't seem like checking out the temple work wouldn't do any harm. Now, just to keep stories straight - maybe they don't advertize that they're Thieves, especially from the Guild. Aye?

"'Allo. Jus' call me Boz, his name is Nico. Say 'Allo, Nico. We're Acrobats. Rough times at the Carnival circuit." he gives. It's probably not a great story but it might be good enough for now.

"Hear the God of Fish might have a job, aye?"

Alright, Ena and Cullen are different people. More experienced proper crooks passing lessons to the younger generation.

Feels like these two would know each other then, almost certainly have done jobs together. Possibly even grew up next to each other. If so, do kind of like the idea that Boz's rep in the guild says young but lucky- and a chunk of the secret behind Boz's luck is that Boz has an extra sense or two you normally only see in particularly dedicated magic users. Boz just naturally *sees* magic like it's just another color on the spectrum and Nico knows about it. Just a thought.

The Stealth drops then, now he's just walking. It looks like he's doing it calmly, just the half-head cover and intent. He wants to be seen now, as he breathes deep. A moment, to play another one of his sound games.

    ~~~~~
    "Shut that kid of yours up! I can't hear myself think"
