  1. Everything... just the way its supposed to!
  2. The shriek knocks the man into next week then, when the man's unconscious form flops over onto the ground, he begins to settle down, realizing that he'd kind of lost it on the creep. His breathing starts to slow and the adrenaline begins to subside and he begins to think more clearly again. Quickly checking, the man is alive but he's hurt; Sergio broke his check bone and blackened up his eye (Sergio did 1 body damage). He'll be fine. But thankfully the man was a large, tough man or that could have gone a lot worse. Now what?
  3. OK, map is ready. You should have control of your toon and hopefully can place Iron Tiger wherever you want... hopefully , same for you.
  4. Its a beautiful spring Saturday in Sovereign City. A nice breeze keeps the smog flowing up into the western hills and crispens the air. Its a great day to do chores around the house and get errands done early so you can enjoy the warm afternoon after a nasty, stormy winter. For whatever reason, you are out and about on this day and find yourself at the First Bank of Sovereign City. OOC: OK, the map is up join the game. As soon as I've posted this, I'll be putting up your avatars but I can't assign you control until you join the game. Once you are in, you can place your character anywhere on the map that you like. Your character might not even be IN the bank but passing by to get to somewhere else. How you want to handle it, and where and what your character is doing is up to you. From left to right, the dark 'bar' is the road, specifically parking, the grey next to it is the side walk. The ovals along the sidewalk and road are parking meters (quarter or credit card) The dark gray lines are the walls of the bank and the white rectangles in the walls are windows. The strange circles (though they are in perspective from the top looking down so they are not actually circles) are interior ATM machines. There are Teller Windows across the top and bottom of the map. There are four tellers working at the moment as can be seen by the people standing right in front of the tellers. The small gold circles connected by red lines are the classic divider ropes with hooks that connect to stands. The center area of the map is carpeted with two desks with filing cabinets (the gray rectangles). This is where new accounts are opened and various things (like loans) are applied for. One married couple is sitting at a desk across from a loan officer as they apply for a home loan. Between the tellers and the carpet are wooden tables with a divider running down the middle (the gray rectangle) where people can fill out paper work (more often used 'back in the day' when people actually used checks and balanced bank books) The First Bank of Sovereign City is in the Old Town district. There are a lot of old timey shops and lots of tourism, though at this time of day (about 10am) its pretty sleepy. Old Town has some buildings in it that are as old as the city, some even dating back to the 1600s. Most are a mix of 1800s and 1700s. Most of the ground floor are shops of various kinds, mostly tourist traps, with many higher end restaurants, several of which have been featured on the Food Network shows. For now, your RP is introductory. Tell us about your character and why they are there. Let the game begin :D
  5. With everyone puking and retching from the orb of disease (I gargle leprosy!), Troben recovers first and charges at the bloated woman with many tentacles for her right arm. He and his echo exchange back to back cuts, cutting from one side then the other, unleashing a massive amount of damage upon the mutated woman, dazing her. From the void, the largest minion of the Plague Lord feels the pain and terror of the dolphin from Eithne's past. The massive blob of flesh shrieks in a progressively higher and higher tone until it becomes a dolphin flopping around, shrieking just as a dolphin would. Baldric brings a blessing upon himself, healing himself of the Leprosy he had contracted from the Orb of Disease then rushes along the western 'wall' toward the enemy. Vrod, as he usually does, flies into a bloodthirsty rage and chases after Troben to the betentacle woman. With a bestial howl, the big orc brings his ax down on the horrible woman, cleaving deep into the bloated body, then catching her/it with another swing that finishes her off. Remy starts toward Bloat, but seeing the massive creature flop to the ground as a dolphin, she corrects her defensive charge to come up along side Troben and Vrod Austin rushes down behind the line of warriors and grins. A Fire Ball spell will serve him well at this moment. "Wait for me!" Tiberion shouts after calling down a blessing from his god to heal himself. The Rot Monster takes a step toward the three warriors and the sorcerer in the middle of the room, but it does not leave its master. Instead it sends a glob of puke out of the mouth in its belly ahead of it... a toxic, foul puke. Cain, a creature that looks to be half man, half insect, moves from around the tumor and spews acid in a stream at Vrod. The big orc's skin sizzles as the acid eats away at his flesh. Papa Plagues moves back from the tumor he was hiding behind, laughing in a deep voice "Ha ha ha." Though the heroes don't know it, because they've never seen such a thing, Papa Plagues is a Voodoo master and in his hands, he molds a little cloth and twig figure which begins to resemble Troben, laughing the whole time. The scrawny, crazy looking Psycho steps out in front of Tiberion and Baldric, muttering his insane babble and focusing on Baldric. The paladin grabs his head, shaking the voices away. From the east side of the dangling tumor, Lady Plague comes, cackling like a cartoon witch and cracking a rather nasty looking whip. She whips it out at Eithne but misses by a mile. "Ah, now isn't this fun. You 'heroes' are off to a good start, I must say!" The plague Lord says, mockingly. OOC: Oi, I guess I misspoke. Technically, Eithne won't suffer the Leprosy damage until next turn, then she can save again to try and rid herself of it. That might not matter as Tiberion and Baldric won't be able to reach her flying along as she is before the next round to heal it. But 'technically'. Vrod got a crit! Yay Vrod Remy is dodging. Baldric Saves from Psycho's Psychotic Voices. Lady Plague got a critical fail on her attack against Eithne so loses her second attack. The Plague Lord 'Taunts' You. Plague Lord Attacks Orb of Disease: 15 foot radius AoE, DEX save for half (DC: 16) 3d10 damage. Targets hit must also succeed at a DC 16 CON save to not catch Leprosy. This Leprosy is 'fast acting' and will deal 2d6 damage every round until you succeed at the CON save (unless you save the first time against the Leprosy). Failing the CON save deals its damage on the next round as the skin visibly rots. Taunt: Anyone hearing the Plague Lord's Voice grants the Plague Lord advantage on Saving Throws until the Plague Lord's next round. This ability also requires Concentration. Bloat Its a Dolphin right now. Sharina Dead before she ever got to do anything... good! Rot Monster AC: ?? . . . . . HP: ?? Vulnerabilities: Fire Attacks Toxic Puke: Range 30 feet, 10 foot AoE. DC 14 DEX Save and Deals 3d6 Poison damage (half on save). entering or beginning your turn in a toxic puke puddle deals 2d6 damage. Puddles last 1 minute. Cain AC: ?? . . . . . HP: ?? Vulnerabilities: ?? Attacks Acid Stream: +8, 3d4 Acid damage on hit, then 2d4 the following round and finally 1d4 the third round. This ability does not stack, but it resets the damage to the initial 3d4 damage. Papa Plagues AC: ?? . . . . . HP: ?? Vulnerabilities: ?? Attacks Something voodoo-y Psycho AC: ?? . . . . . HP: ?? Vulnerabilities: >> Attacks Psychotic Voices: Psycho can direct his insane ramblings into the head of a specific target within his line of sight. The target must succeed at a DC 16 Wisdom save or fall under Psycho's spell and will perform Commands instantly. If the command endangers himself or his allies, he gets another WIS save to break free of Psycho's spell. This ability requires concentration. Lady Plague AC: ?? . . . . . HP: ?? Vulnerabilities: ?? Attacks Whip Attack: +11, deals some damage and some other effect. Summary The death of Sharina does not produce Mystic Energy. She was a 'corrupted' hero from one of the realms brought into the battle lands. You lot are up! And actually, you had a good round. The Plague Lord was right. Killed one, turned one into a dolphin, saved or was missed from several enemy attacks. Does the Plague Lord show as having suffered 14 damage on the 'count up' HP meter?
  6. hehe you've never expressed this before... worried hmmm :devilish grin: Yeah, I typically reveal AC after you hit a target or at least only miss it by a point. I wasn't going to reveal her AC until my post OOC: Ack, I lied... I misremembered who Sharina was (I mixed her up with Lady Plague)... all three attacks hit Sharina. She only has a 14 AC (but a lot more HP). I probably shouldn't post at work like that in battle when I can't use Roll20 on my phone.
  7. Actually, each attack's damage is a separate roll and applied individually against his defenses. He has no mental defenses so all 6d6 (21) goes straight through. He is practically KOed by that (25 stun) so the punch doesn't quite finish him off. I have to say, for damage, that was very underwhelming... Would have been great attack rolls though. He has 4 PD so absorbs all of Shriek's punch and has 4 stun left. The man grabs his head. He has never experienced a migraine headache like this. He takes The Shriek's punch and , still holding his head, cries out "Why?" He doesn't try to attack, he just cries out "why" as if he thinks smacking a child and/or wife is appropriate. You have two attacks again. Because you are enraged, I believe you need to keep punching the guy... But thankfully you don't do a ton of damage with your punches so you won't kill him (accidentally)
  8. Orn, Son of Thain Weaponmaster HP: 32 / 32 AC: 20 (16) Second Wind: Yes Action Surge: Yes Shadow: 2 "I'll veer left and try to draw them to me. You can outflank them." The dwarf says, eyeing the brigands. OOC: just waiting for everyone to be ready.
  9. Sounds good, plus you can photo copy the pages. He would likely have a copy machine
  10. Yeah, attack two misses, but the rest nearly kills her.
  11. The Fluke charges at Samson. His mind only slightly more clear from a moment ago, but Brown Samson has yet to move as he tries to shake off the pain of The Fluke's earlier attacks. Samson looks up as The Fluke charges into him, landing a punch square on the jaw, knocking the big man out. There is a very quick, short cheer from around the neighborhood but doors quickly slam shut. Apparently the neighbors didn't want the other gang members in Samson's gang to know they were celebrating the big man's fall.
  12. Eleanor has no trouble finding a fire alarm to activate and does so. She can hear the klaxon going off and even see some flashing lights. When the klaxons turn off and the lights stop flashing, she wonders what just happened, then sees a security guard come to examine the alarm a minute later. He can see that the alarm was pulled and pulls out his flashlight and begins to look around as he speaks into a walkie talkie, probably informing an onsite security center to his 'findings'. She isn't worried that the security guard can see her turns invisible anyway. Looking around, she can see a security camera that was probably used to view where the alarm was pulled and see that there was no actual fire. This is a billion dollar facility and it made sense that it had the state of the art when it came to security, safety and preventitive measures. The multi-acre facility could take ages to actually sift trough to find one man, even excluding all of the lab areas and focusing on the offices. Eleanor remembered when T.R. Grant had started building the facility. She was still working for Morley's at the time and, in fact, some of the facility was still under construction. Other 'wings' that expanded outward. Morley's helped Grant get the property, which was difficult and expensive because it had at least three separate owners, if she remembered correctly (and she was pretty smart, so that was probably true). Morley's and Grant. It couldn't be coincidence that Morley's son and some executive had been meeting together. It just couldn't. The problem was trying to make the connection. OK, we'll put this on pause for now. They had said there was 'no incriminating evidence unless you knew what you were looking for" and sadly, Eleanor does not 'know' what to look for. She is very smart though with a researcher's mind so given time, she'll likely figure out what might be in the file to help guide her investigation. We'll call this a 'task'. You'll roll INT rolls, keeping track of the points by which you succeed. The cumulative amount will hit success number which will provide clues she can research/look into as she figures them out. When she gets rolls based on how often she can spend time going through her file. Obviously, right out of the gate, she's going to have the most time to devote to it (plus the initial burst of excitement) so let's make 3 INT rolls now and we'll track her progress in your Tracking post under your character sheet. We'll call it her Investigation Task. Does that all make sense?
  13. OK, we'll put this on pause for now. John can talk to the boy and see into the boy's memory and draw up the picture. The boy will agree to anything for licorice. Plus, once you use your telepathy to with the boy to confirm to the boy who you are (he remembers the communication in his mind WAY better than when John carried him to safety because smoke in his eyes made it hard to see and he was in a bad state from breathing in so much smoke. The boy will really trust John when he realizes who John is.... and doubly so when he realizes that John is the 'super hero' Rescuer. He can circulate the picture he drew to the police and use his burner phone to Superion to send a picture of the guy. But it will be a little while before he hears anything... That said, we will revisit this later when/if John wants to follow up on it.
  14. Will need an attack roll for the sonic attack, and since you have a speed of 4 and he only has a speed of 2 so you actually get to make both attacks in a row, the sonic attack then the charge attack, whatever you wish that to be (the killing attack since you are enraged?) oh, and good call with the extra post to remind me :)
  15. OK, you still have another attack to go. Remember, his SPD is only 2 so you get to attack twice before he gets to attack.
  16. The Other Towers are your creation these intro threads are literally for you and I build and establish your character and to give me some insight into the who and whys of them moving forward. So Sovereign City is big enough to support just about anything. All that you mentioned seems reasonable and is open to you.
  17. hehe Orn shouts as he rushes at the brigands, "Want me ta tell ye a story? There were a dwarf with a rally big mallet who smashed ye in tha face. Tha end."
  18. yay, those dice work :) Um... If i don't respond to this by friday, please nudge me. I'll probably forget you started a post as I saw it while you were editing in the results of your Enraged. I'm going to bed now so I have a good chance of forgetting since the 'new post' will not show any more.
  19. OK guys and gal, I meant to get the RP post up tonight but I've been working on the map. I made it a hex map for classic champions maps, but I don't know how to make the toons on the map round so they fit nicely in the hexes... so they are square and it doesn't look as good. You won't be able to see it yet as I've got the start page set as a splash page where I'll stash extra copies of your avatars in case they accidentally get deleted (which is easier to do than I'd like). Once I get the RP post up, I'll switch the page to the map. I should be able to get that done tomorrow afternoon after I get home from work (I actually get home a couple hours early too, so yay). Also, if you don't have a picture yet, please find one so I can set up your Avatars and if you haven't gotten into the game, please do so I can assign you control over your avatar. If your avatar is or isn't there, please let me know. If you can't control your avatar, also let me know. I believe one of you is 'officially done' with your individual RP thread and well over half of you are a post or two away (just finishing up, really). IF you are not 'done', that's fine. Those RPs won't interfere with the group thread that is coming tomorrow (hopefully) so we can keep going. If you feel like you want to explore more in your character's personal life, please feel free. Even if its just a 'you' RP. I have a player in my other supers game (Marvel Super Heroes FASERIP system) who keeps a diary and just goes on her (he, playing a she) merry way chronicling her feelings throughout the adventure. I'm good with working with whatever you want to do or try. This IS a module (as you know, from the early 90s) but I usually run my supers adventures fairly 'sandboxy' and will veer around a bit as we dance around the sandbox.
  20. Orn, Son of Thain Weaponmaster HP: 32 / 32 AC: 20 (16) Second Wind: Yes Action Surge: Yes Shadow: 2 Orn grins at Léofwyn. "I can just rush straight in then?" the burly dwarf seems to like this idea. He prefers a straight up fight to skulking about. Though, he didn't mind his companions choice of entering a fray. OOC: Initiative placed below for sake of expediency. He won't charge in until everyone is ready.
  21. "Welcome." A foul voice says, gravelly as if phlegm is 'dancing' in the throat of the speaker. You hear the voice muffled as it travels down the corridor to the Plague Lord's throne room. Then behind you, the corridor begins to collapse, pushing you steadily forward. "I've been waiting for you, as have the multitude of extra-planar beings who do so enjoy these 'games'. And with your deaths, you will be the final essence that will usher in my ultimate victory. Millenia of these games and finally there will be a winner. I will be victorious and the entirety of the multiverse will be my plaything. Imagine, everything you know, trees, animals, people, monsters, all suffering with festering boils, rotting flesh, and corrupted genetics continually mutating them in painful agony. Beautiful. And all of that feeding me so that I grow ever stronger than I will already be." the voice says. "You could surrender now and be assured a place in my elite ranks, should you choose." The collapsing passage behind you forces you out into the throne room of the Plague Lord where you quickly assess the enemies before you. Two Massive, cancerous tumors dangle down from the ceiling, resting on the floor (the two black globs in the room). "There you are." the Plague Lord says with a grin and launches an orb of disease at you. OOC: They didn't win by much, but they won. Without rolling everyone's initiative individually, I'm opting instead to have the Plague Lord act first BUT then you lot, followed by the Plague Lord's Minions and the Plague Lord himself. At least you don't have to endure the entire room attacking you. The Orb of Disease is a gelatinous glob of blood and rot. It explodes over all of you and rains down its putridness. DC 16 DEX save for half of the initial damage (25 on fail, 13 on a save), then a DC 16 CON save to not catch Leprosy. This Leprosy is 'fast acting' and will deal 2d6 damage every round until you succeed at the CON save (unless you save the first time against the Leprosy) Double OOC: I was thinking 'wow, what a scary damage roll' and checked... it was supposed to be 3d10 but I did a typeo at 4d10... so let's drop that initial damage to 20 on fail, 10 on success. of the NPCs, Austin, Vrod and Tiberion failed the DEX save but only Baldric and Vrod failed the CON save. Good luck to you two. You lot are up!!! Let the 'game' begin!
  22. Eleanor follows the man down to the ground floor and out of the elevator just behind him. He walks out of the office building and to a limo parked in front of the office complex. The car takes off and 'miraculously' hits all the green lights as it makes its way to the Lincoln Bridge and across the Atherton River. Eleanor slowly loses ground, falling ever behind as she struggles at her top speed (about 30mph) while the car slows occasionally but speeds up to 35 or 40 miles per hour. She is falling farther and farther behind and as the car gets to the outer West Havens heading toward the Grant Experimental Sciences Facility it speeds up considerably, disappearing in the distance. However, unless the car turns off somewhere and she couldn't see the light (which might have been easy to miss with the other lights she can see as she tries to focus on the lights of the car), she believes the car drove into the facility. It is a very large complex, probably covering half the space of the Financial District. There are tall chain link fences with razor wire over the top... but that can hardly stop her. There are many large bay doors. Many. The car could be parked in any one of them... or none of them.
