  1. I don't think the claws paralyze. The glare specifically calls out that it paralyzes, whereas the claws don't. Also, why would it ever use the glare if the claws paralyze, do damage, and it gets 2 of them?
  2. The PHB says torches only do 1 fire damage if used like a weapon, but that seems kinda useless. Can we treat it like a club, or an improvised weapon so we can get a 1d4 and stat damage bonuses?

  4. I probably should have specified in my post, but when I reckless attack, enemies get advantage on attacks against me. I rolled for the scarecrow, and it got another hit off on Badmaw. Also, I don't think you added the damage Amberlyn did last round to it's hp tracker, so combined with the damage she did this round, and Badmaw's attack, I think the thing is dead.

Badmaw endures one final slash from the ragman before he gains his bearings, and forces the magic from himself. Seeing the grin on the construct's face, Badmaw takes a second to square his stance, and really line up a shot. His sword strikes true, straight into the grinning gob of the scarecrow, and out the back of it's head. Gritting his teeth, Badmaw then yanks the blade out of the side of it's face; tearing the head cloth away, and leaving his opponent to collapse on the ground. "I'll give you something to smile about, freak." Badmaw grumbles to himself as he runs over to Pen to support his battle. Noticing the torch and tinderbox on Pen's belt, the lizardman drops his rapier, and grabs for the fire implements, intent on lighting them up. OOC Movement: N9 Action: Reckless rapier attack Bonus Action: Reaction: Grabbing a torch and tinderbox from Pen Enemies get advantage on attacks against Badmaw this turn. Dirty work health 28/29

  7. Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (2d4 + 1) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of the scarecrow’s next turn. I think everything these guys do has us quivering in our booties. But the glare swaps out the damage for the paralyze. But if decides no will save, I can redo my post.

Badmaw shrugged off the physical damage from the scarecrow's strike easily enough, but the magic once again welled up inside him, and made him panic. He stopped thinking, and started swinging his sword wildly at the scarecrow - hitting nothing but air. His desperate strikes left him exposed. OOC Movement: (I moved to I7 last round, map doesn't show it, but I'm there.) Action: Rapier reckless attack Bonus Action: Reaction: Attack of opportunity if I get the chance Actually didn't get advantage from reckless attack, I used it to cancel out disadvantage, so I missed.   9. Yeah, if doesn't have time for this anymore, we could open it up again. Lots of characters already made. Maybe IC Rurik gets a lead on searching for his master that takes him elsewhere. Or we could keep it at 4 players. We seem to be doing alright as is. We might need to get a few extra healing potions to compensate, though.

Badmaw grits his teeth as the scarecrow stares him down. Feeling the frightening magic well up inside him, he takes a second to refocus, and with an exhale, forces the spell from him. Drawing his sword, he circles around the ragman, and thrusts toward a spot damaged by Amberlyn's blasts. The blow doesn't hit particularity hard, but it further tears some cloth, and spills more of the construct's inner hay.   11. I'm good to continue, but I think tackling all 5 missions at once is a tall order. Perhaps we could focus on one or two at a time so there isn't so much investment needed into each post?

  13. Sounds like a good time. Were the diagon alley interiors all furnished? Do they have the wand shop, and the tavern with the butter beer like in the universal one?
  14. In the future it might be better to handle these sorts of things one at a time, cause we're essentially having to make 5 posts in one, and it's a fair bit of writing.

SCARECROWS "WHO'S THE ASSHAT THAT MADE THREE!?" The lizardman asks incredulously while throwing a net at the first scarecrow the group spotted. The net goes wide, and lands ineffectually on the ground behind the magical construct. HORSE Badmaw's investigation consists of him walking up to the horses in their stalls one by one, poking them, and asking "Hey, can you talk?" with an amused smile. When one horse finally answers him, his eyes go wide. "OH, Shoot! Mirt wasn't lying, there's a talking horse here!" He says, shocked. DIRTY WORK Badmaw was frustrated during his first meeting with the dungsweepers. He had hoped that whatever was attacking them would have been something he could track down easily, like gangsters. However, the only information the group had was it was some foul smelling sewer worm that had attacked them. The reptile took a brief look around the sewer entrances, but found no trail. 'They should just set these tunnels on fire.' He thought to himself. 'There's no end to the monsters in there.' And so with a resigned sigh, Badmaw settled in for 10 mornings of watching people sweep up excrement. It wasn't all bad, though. From the second day onward, Badmaw had brought various snacks, and a deck of cards for the group to entertain themselves while they sat in Badmaw's cart. The mornings were now the designated picnic time while the dungsweepers toiled. The entertainment, unfortunately, led Badmaw to let his guard down enough for the crawler to hit him before he could interpose his shield between himself and the tentacles. "GHHHK!" He yelps out as he collapses from the paralytic. "Se'er bastard.. got ne again..." He struggles to vocalize through clenched teeth as he writhes on the ground. KNOCKING HEADS "HEY!" Badmaw growls out toward what seems to be the leader of one of the groups, while pulling out his sword. "This is our street! So piss off, before I kick your balls to wherever your hair went, you bald prick!" The lizardman says, tense and ready to strike.   16. Oh, I didn't know the parchment was enchanted. I thought it was just any old parchment could be used with the box. I guess that's a good balance, cause I was planning on just using these things like an ender pearl, following the birds as they carried various threatening messages to the Zhents.
  17. I feel like Badmaw has to honor his word and at least show up to meet the dungsweepers. Hopefully they know where the guys harassing them reside so we can take care of that quicker. Could Badmaw have done some experiments with the paper bird in the tavern repairing time? I'd like to know: If the bird will circle around a building to find an open entrance to reach it's target. Or if it will take the most direct route and crash into any closed entrances or other obstacles. Will the bird fly underground to a recipient? If the bird immediately sets out in the direction of it's target If the bird is susceptible to opportunity attacks Does someone have to personally know the recipient to send the bird? Could someone who has never seen or heard a person, just have their name, send them a bird? Do nicknames work as a recipient address? Would it work if I addressed it to 'Rani', as opposed to her full name?
