Description:Laiá (pronounced lai-ah) comes from a long line of wizards and magic and expectations to master it runs deep in her family. Her father, Martin Alvarez, was a famous Footballer in the Liverpool F.C. for many years. Kids had posters of him on their walls, there were brand deals - the works. Her mom never had to work, but she did anyway - volunteering at a local library for the past 10 years or so. Laiá was taught early on the value of competition, how it brings out the best in people - brings forth their strength, cuts out their weakness, and shows what they're capable of. Behind closed doors, her parents still expected her to also excel at magic studies. There has always been a lot of pressure on Laiá to excel, exceed, and win. At school she has a very strong us-vs-them mentality. While she doesn't actively seek out conflict, this mentality often leads her to conflict nonethless. She is hell-bent on proving herself through rigorous study and outwitting anyone she deems an opponent. She is a chess master. Enjoys reading. Loves being the center of attention, and values true friendship and loyalty. She has a tendency to act full of herself and judge others, often prematurely (she wouldn't confirm this herself, but she has a great deal to learn). Though the pressure from her parents has increased in her later years at school, she still upholds her father's rules that winning at any cost is not the right way to secure a win. She has been tempted to outright cheat once or twice, but she restrained herself (so far), preferring instead to psych out her opponents and win through natural skills & cleverness.
