The young woman turned to Mareen, and upon learning she was an artist, she returned her greeting with a small curtsey. "" she spelled her name loudly, clearly, and with contempt. She nearly got distracted by the mention of the rust monsters, briefly entertaining the idea that perhaps they were the reason behind the scantily clad man's appearance. Then again, her own attire wasn't much different from that of the barbarian's. "I am but an aficionado," she humbly replied at Mareen’s prompt. "This Yarting is a memento of my homeland." She produced the lyre and strummed a simple note ⁽¹⁾. However, it was out of tune, as it was customary to loosen the strings to protect the instrument from bowing, especially when it was humid. "You may give it a try, if you wish. The caress of hands blessed by the gift of music is well received by my lyre. I would be honored to have you leave your mark on it, by the essence of your arts," she nodded with expectation. She briefly put away her lyre and continued the conversation. "You think I could share the floor with you?" Krone was a bit perplexed, but her confidence in acrobatic feats was strong. She looked around to prevent tripping and then performed a "giro" or acrobatic spin ⁽²⁾, her cloak swiftly billowing without impeding her movement, and then added a dancing "" or call ⁽³⁾. Through the frosted windows of the "Plodding Plow," the sight of Krone could be caught as she approached on her mule-drawn cart; the scene unfolded like a silent tableau against the snowy backdrop. The mule bore the weight of her belongings without complaint, a silent witness to her hard work. The cart bore the marks of travel, telling of her journey thus far, laden with her belongings, and its contents carefully secured beneath a tarp to protect them from the elements. With a deft touch, she tethered her mule to a post near the entrance, securing the reins before dismounting. Krone allowed herself a moment of reflection, her thoughts turning to the challenges that lay ahead. Suddenly, a familiar voice from within the tavern caught her attention. "Stone, Silk, and... copper," it was Gemma. The warmth emanating from the pub beckoned to her, offering comfort amidst the anticipation of her journey. With the prospect of companionship and the familiar ambiance of the tavern, Krone allowed herself to unwind, finding reassurance in the knowledge that she would confront whatever trials awaited her with steadfast courage. She dismounted, her boots sinking into the snow with a soft crunch. Her black cloak billowed around her as she strode towards the entrance, her footsteps leaving a trail of faint imprints in the snow. As she stepped into the warmth of the pub, her breath misting in the chill air, the contrast between the cold outside and the cozy interior was palpable; Krone entered with a confident stride. She had spent the last few months away making herself known as a sellsword, and when she pushed open the creaking door of the "Plodding Plow," a rush of warmth greeted her; she was embraced by the warmth of the hearth and the inviting aroma of hearty stew. Glenna Moonsmith, the proprietress, offered her a friendly smile as she approached, her eyes probably taking in the subtle changes in Krone's appearance. Krone nodded gratefully, her gaze lingering on the table set before her. “This meeting is more than just a chance encounter,” she thought, for it was the beginning of a new chapter in her quest for might and magic. The pub's interior buzzed with activity, a mix of laughter, clinking glasses, and the murmur of conversations weaving together like a tapestry of stories. More often than not, the patrons' attention was drawn to Krone’s arrivals, their curious eyes glancing at the figure of the young woman, her ashen-silvery hair cascading down her back like a waterfall of moonlight. Krone’s snow-white complexion seemed to glow under the flickering light of the fireside, her skin rosy from the cold, but despite the chill outside, she showed no signs of discomfort. Her form-fitting black bodysuit clung to her curves, the fabric stretched taut over her growing frame; the subtle hints of her draconic heritage were evident in the dim cracks along her skin, like delicate veins of silver tracing her silhouette, almost imperceptible to the untrained eye. Despite the snugness of her attire, Krone moved with a fluid grace. Her iridescent eyes, glimmering like opal, darted around the room taking in every detail with keen interest. “Thank you,” replied Krone to Glenna, without interrupting the conversation with the patron. The rush of emotion upon spotting Gemma at the pub momentarily overwhelmed her. The chances of encountering her again in the current state of Hillsfar seemed slim, making the reunion all the more precious. Krone couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness knowing her message had reached Gemma. She made her way over to Gemma, flashing a wink before saying, "Hey! How about a riddle of steel?" The sight of a friend made Krone's greeting warmer, as she figured Gemma's table companions were either part of some grand scheme in the halfling’s mind or true partners in crime. Collecting herself, she quickly added, "I am Krone, well met! I'll be joining you," gesturing to indicate that Glenna had sent her over. With care, she set down her bag, containing a Lyre, before finding a seat at the table. No OOC comments.
  3. The art and the picture for posting are on point! Also, where did you get the symbol of the faction?
  4. Check it with , but IIRC you could make changes to your character as per this:
  5. The discussion in discord's been lots of fun, enriched with dank memes and cryptic memes leaning towards Irish folklore, as expected.
  6. To me , number 3 sounds more like it, sort of reminds me of the setting in Star Wars Andor. The idea there is an NPC that knows of her and also believes she was not instrumental to the achievements in her backstory makes it more real, and it gives something to relate to. The letter she carries makes more sense this way.
  7. Krone Skalmǫld ∴ ᛋᚴᛅᛚᛘᛅᛚᛏ Background: Hero of Might & Magic (Custom). Race: Elvish (Custom). Class: Sorcerer I (Draconic). Faction: Order of the Gauntlet, . Krone Skalmǫld, an elvish woman from the enigmatic Lands of Intrigue, is a figure of striking allure, standing at 155 cm with snow-white skin and eyes shimmering in ethereal blues and violets. Her silver tresses cascade around her face, framing features that hint at a lineage steeped in mystery and power. Draped in a black leather ensemble, her form is veiled in a cloak reminiscent of a piwafwi, adding an air of mystique to her presence. Yet beneath this beguiling exterior lies the subtle traces of her draconic heritage—a delicate tapestry of scales adorning patches of her alabaster skin, her blood coursing through her veins like the essence of midnight. She emits a sweet scent with notes of vanilla flowers and almonds, akin to bibliosmia, and sometimes cedarwood. Her hair is styled in a braid or braids, with a long forelock. Physically, she is lean, fit, and slightly below average in height. Despite her elven heritage, Krone possesses a remarkable trait that sets her apart—she bears the appearance of a human. This trait, a quirk of her ancestry, adds another layer of intrigue to her persona, shrouding her in an aura of mystery that belies her true nature. Her name, Krone Skalmǫld, signifies "Crown of War". She is armed with a silvered dagger embellished with elven, jotun and draconic inscriptions that read: Gold sparks strife 'mongst kin, the sea's wild pyre, and serpent's winding trail. Frost shields streams' trunks, crowns ocean's crest, and seals fate's final fall. Day's orb guards the heavens, casts beams bright, and melts frost's grasp. Prologue Krone was born to a Shadar-Kai mother in the Shadowfell, she was raised in the Underdark at the request of the Raven Queen; her father's identity remains unknown. Krone's draconic lineage traces back to the ancient black Dragon Synn; because of this, her blood appears darker than usual, resembling black ichor. Once hailed as “the Traveler”, Krone's journey began centuries past, her path intertwined with the dusty archives of academia and the lure of distant horizons. A seeker of forgotten lore and arcane artifacts, she traverses the realms with boundless curiosity, her thirst for knowledge matched only by her insatiable hunger for adventure. Unbound by the shackles of convention, her actions are guided by the compass of personal freedom and a thirst for discovery, often defying the norms of propriety and expectation. Krone's allegiance lies not with laws or institutions, but with the pursuit of truth; yet, she remains steadfast in her commitments, honoring promises with a fierce determination born of her indomitable will. Having completed rigorous training in both martial and arcane disciplines, Krone embarked on a journey to explore the vast world and pursue a quest to further refine her abilities. Aligned with the mysterious Raven Queen, her path is fueled not only by allegiance but also by a deep-seated thirst for vengeance. And so, with purpose as her guide and vengeance as her creed, Krone arrived at the powerful city-state of Hillsfar, where the call of destiny and the promise of her future converge in a symphony of fate and magic. Krone has been working (and has established herself) as a sellsword under the law of trade; she carries a letter of introduction from the merchant guilds she has been working with, including their positive reviews. 9. Well met, adventurer! For at Mythweavers, legends are forged. Prepare to embark on a journey of epic proportions, for the name of this website is no mere facade—it is a testament to the grandeur that awaits you within these digital realms. May your time here be filled with valor and glory!
  10. Cool, if the others want to play, I'm up!
  11. Hey there! As this game comes to a close, I want to express my gratitude for the dedication and effort invested in our collective journey. I've relished the opportunity to immerse myself in D&D and explore its depths, and for that, I am thankful. Delving into the world of PBP gaming has been a rewarding venture too, the shared moments of triumph made for an unforgettable adventure and helped craft friendship. Reflecting on our journey, it's clear that the recent slowdown stemmed from the module’s systemic issues, particularly evident within the gnome's cave; the stark contrast in complexity posed unforeseen challenges… sensory impairments, wild magic, indifferent NPCs and whatnot; the abrupt shift in atmosphere may have contributed to the struggle. Moving forward, I intend to delve deeper into the mechanics of this system, armed with newfound insights gleaned from our experiences. Should I find myself running the essential kit, I will be better equipped to navigate potential pitfalls. In offering feedback, I would suggest fostering proactive communication amongst players. Not only does this aid in clarifying rules and mitigating misunderstandings, but it also fosters collaboration and camaraderie, enriching the overall gaming experience. If feasible, I kindly request keeping the thread accessible for consultation purposes. I foresee the need to revisit my character template in the future, and having continued access to it would greatly facilitate any future endeavors or reference needs. Your consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Once again, thanks for your investment throughout this adventure. Though our journey together may be ending, the memories forged and lessons learned will endure.
  12. Sounds about right! Changing topics, Happy Easter to those that celebrate it. Cheers!

Abilities: Speed (40 ft. | 4.5 mph | 7.2 kph) Capacity (300 lbs. + 1900 lbs.) In the dim-lit labyrinthine corridors of the dungeon, as the clamor of battle echoed off the cold stone walls, Vala, the stalwart paladin, found herself at a crossroads. With a determined glance back at her comrades, she realized her duty lay in clearing a path for their escape. Yet, before she could enact her plan, a sudden surge of primal energy burst forth as Katya, the enigmatic shapeshifter, transformed into a towering bear and charged headlong at the gnome and his menacing turret. Vala's heart swelled with admiration for her companion's fearless charge. In that pivotal moment, she knew that to abandon Katya was to abandon a valiant ally. With a resolute nod at Makaria, Vala forged a new path —one of unwavering sorority. "No one is left behind!" she roared, her voice a thunderous declaration that reverberated through the dungeon's depths. With righteous fury coursing through her veins, she charged alongside Katya, her spear gleaming with divine purpose. In perfect synchrony, they closed in on the gnome (flanking), a whirlwind of steel and fur. With each strike of her spear, Vala carved through the air, creating openings for Katya's ferocious assaults. Vala's voice rang out once more, a clarion call to victory on the horizon. "For honor and glory!" she cried, her resolve unyielding as she lunged forward with two swift and precise strikes of her spear, with righteous fury. Flanking with the spear, and delivering two strikes with polearm mastery.
  14. I am impressed by such a bold action, shapeshifters are quite imposing. Oh that is right.
  15. Thanks, Vala has maintained a vigilant stance throughout our journey through the caves, keeping her guard up and adopting a defensive posture whenever potential threats arose. If you believe we should provide more technical descriptions, I'm completely open to adjusting our approach. Regarding the recent encounter, we were forewarned about the possibility of traps and informed about the gnomes' security measures against intruders. Thus, when you emphasized that "actions have consequences," apart from approaching a gnome stationed on a turret as a complete stranger, I would have suggested a more cautious approach, gathering the group to assess the situation carefully. However, Gilavar initiated contact with Faktore, the gnome. At this point, Vala made way for Gilavar and inspected the turret before assuming a defensive stance, which I explicitly mentioned before combat ensued. The gnome's reaction to Gilavar, pointing his turret at the party, initiated combat. And according to the initiative order, here's a breakdown of events: Pre-Combat: - Gilavar approached the gnome and engaged in conversation (Vala allowed Gilavar to approach). - Vala inspected the turret from afar, and prepared defensively. - The gnome reacted to Gilavar, initiating combat. Combat Round 1: - Makaria attempted to persuade the gnome to redirect his aim. - Faktore attacked. - Gilavar attempted to retreat. - Katya transformed into a spider. - Vala utilized the dodge action and moved away (following the girls). To clarify, I'm not suggesting that Faktore should or shouldn't have attacked Gilavar. Rather, if Vala was the intended target, she should benefit from both her dodge advantage and partial cover, given Gilavar's initial positioning at the front. Regarding the direction Vala proposed during our retreat, I indicated it in our Out of Character communication. I suggested navigating towards the right corridor, and marked it with a line, whilst leaving a note with Vala's name in OBR (it shows in your screenshots). I was waiting for Makaria and Katya to confirm the direction they chose after the retreat order, prioritizing their safety without neglecting the group's cohesion. Since my actions are aimed at safeguarding the entire party, I would move following the group.
  16. AFAIK Gilavar was at the front, provided he called into the room, doing move and talk: But even if he retreated, his turns comes after the Gnome in the initiative bracket. Vala even let him move and talk, and she took her defensive stance before combat started:
  17. Since Vala took a defensive stance from the moment Gilavar talked to the gnome mounted on a turret, I believe both attacks must be rolled with disadvantage. On the other hand, Vala is not in the line of sight or immediately visible.
