  1. Egan - rather than roll, did you pick the one to the left or to the right? You are right you can't tell if the charm worked or not. However, to make sure we are all on the same page let's get the order of events correct. All of you, are your actions before or after Myriawens little speech to the strangers? If you all shoot and grapple first, then she probably doesn't make the whole speech. If after, then she basically asked you all to attack and off we go? Not, trying to make this difficult, I just can't wrap my head around her continuing to talk if you 2 are already attacking. I would rather play it that you both attacked after she asked for help and go on.
  2. The two strangers stare at Myriawen and then at each other. They let the weapons drop to their side as Myriawen starts to play the flute. They look at each other once more and there start to laugh. "Sure. little girls we can share a fire with you. You are right we have much more than we can eat. That's what hunting is all about down here. After we eat and we can share a kiss and a hug and a bed. What do you say to that?" They both started laughing again. At this point the start moving towards her at a slow walk, separating to move to either side of her. They will let her talk as they stalk around her. The make impression works, but they seem to think she is along and an easy target. The charm spell works on the one to her left but the one to the right fails to notice the difference. The one to the left just stops and waits for instructions.
  3. With Qingalic and Gol'garath both hidden but able to see the strangers, they watch as Myriawen steps out into the clearing and attempts to get the attention of the two men. Egan is behind her, somewhat hard to see for the strangers. The two strangers turn and immediately pull their weapons but move no further.
  4. I will take some responsibility for the pace of play. I am getting buried trying to get my business of the ground. However, I am making an effort to let all the group respond and right now not everyone has since my last post. I will but responding to the thread on my calendar for 2 days tp help my end. I'm not sure how to handle if others don't post. Just go on anyway?
  5. Gol'garath and Quigalic can both see the two strangers, while Talyn is able to hear them but only catch site of them when they move to a certain sport that actually is in her line of sight. Both of the strangers are busy setting the trap. They seem to be completely oblivious to the party coming up on them. Egan is also aware that something is happening while Buttercup is becoming more agitated. She seems to want to turn and run as she stamps the foot that was caught in the trap and looks at Egan. At this point the group would most likely have the drop on the strangers but they are just two far away to reach in one round. Ranged weapons would be effective. There is plenty of room for someone to step into the clearing and get their attention without them being able to attack either. What you can determine is that these two are not following the tribes way of treating its animals or prey. You never use poison or barbed traps, you have to much respect for the animals. You also found out that no one in the tribe had any knowledge of what you tell them about the traps when you brought back Buttercup and her friend. The two men are standing in the way of you getting the water you need. You could go around but it would probably make you loose enough time to make it dark as you headed home. Will you fight, try to negotiate, or find another way to get to where the water is?
  6. As the group gets close to what looks like the opening to another grove much like the one you found the two Tapirs in yesterday. Qingalic, gets to the edge of the grove staying out of sight behind one of the trees flanking the entrance. Gol'garath is on the other side of the path, slightly hidden but able to be seen if someone is looking. The both see two men laying another trap much like the one you saw yesterday. They are in the far right had corner of the grove. Golgareth can see that in the far left hand corner is one of the same traps already laid. The two girls are just far enough back no not be able to see anything, The Tapir is restless but still under Egan's control. The two men are busy setting the traps and do not here or suspect anything at this time. They are 40 away from the 2 people at the front. We are now in rounds. Not in combat. What would you like to do.
  7. Ok, most of this is a mute point. No one in the group, on the "trail," can be avoiding notice or be using stealth because you have a half ton creature with you. Egan you need to be with Buttercup. She will follow you or at least wait for you if you go off to far. Q can be using cover track but as I stated else where you are moving slow. That in no way matters unless someone in the party is not staying with the rest of the group.
  8. Once you have all gathered and Egan has brought Buttercup to join you, the journey begins. About a half hour into you journey you come upon a grove that looks much like the place you found the Tapirs. Buttercup, starts to get restless just before you reach the opening to the grove. You hear sounds coming from somewhere in the grove. You have enough time to stop before turning the corner and enter the grove. I need the order the group is in. The trail would allow 2 people to be abreast and travel comfortable. Buttercup takes up enough room for two people. Have you attached the vessels to Buttercup for the trip to the get the water? Do any of you have weapons drawn or ready before getting to the entrance? Let me know if there is anything else I should know at this point. You may all relay things retroactive to the beginning of the walk if needed. Wow - my typing was awful. Fixing the typos
  9. I'm going to rule that the precision damage is added to the regular damage and then the resistance taken off. Unless as stated above the resistance is to precision damage which would come off first.
  10. While the Aurochs are all busy for the upcoming cerimony and the jobs they usually do. Gol'gareths brothers remind him that one in the party has a friend that would be under their control and more than capable of carrying the water back to the camp.
  11. The vessels are discribed as follows: The ceremonial vessels to be filled with water are three tightly woven, brightly colored baskets of different shapes. Leather straps make carrying a basket on one’s back easy, and each is sealed with a waxy sap to ensure it doesn’t leak. An empty basket is 1 Bulk; a basket filled with water is 6 Bulk. I am going to say they are about 1.5 ft tall and about 1 foot in diameter. They are round but vase shaped. So technically they could be rolled but you would have pay attention to kerp it going straight
  12. The next moring you all meet at the specified spot and find Cerimonial Vessels waiting for you. Grandfather Eiwa comes walking up to greet yopu and point you in the right direction for the river and bids you fairwell and good luck. Is there any discussion or other information anyone has before we start the trip to get the vessels filled?
  13. It seems the group has decided to take on the Gathering of the Water. Grandfather Eiwa takes the traps and promises to have an answer in the morning when you leave for the next quest. If you would like to roleplay out your drinking and conversation please feel free. I will post what happens in the morning over the weekend unless I need to answer anything from the event of the night.
  14. You return to the camp without issue. You drop the Tapirs with Imek and return to talk to Grandfather Eiwa to anouce you have finished the first of the tasks. He thanks you and ask which of the other two tasks you would like to take on the next day, Scouting Rockloom ( the site of the cerimory) or Gathering water for the cerimony.
  15. Both of the Tapers are fully healed and have the thorns out. While the 2nd one (not Buttercup) is not befriended, Buttercup is a friend to it. I was waiting for all of you to respond before starting the journey back to the camp. If I don't have any response by Jan 4th, we will move on. I hope you all had a good Christmas or Holidays and a Happy lNew year.
  16. The Medicine attempt has worked and since the one tapir is befriended the other one seems very calm and willing to follow. (lets go with this to keep things going. Once you start back I will do a couple rolls to see if anything scares it.)
  17. A successful medic check with the healers kit would work. Also, lets say anything like sleep or some other way for the animal to not feel. I am very open to creativity on this one. Even a healing spell could probably "heal" the barbs out.
  18. Egan has a new friend. The tapir is completely calm now and would let any one try to heal it or at least be able to get the hurt paw lifted. The other while not tame is in no pain and would let any of the group close enough to examin it. Egan is free to try to befirend the other Tapir. Myriawen is free to try to heal the first or is any one has a spell that would take away the pain the barbs can be removed from either of the tapiers. On the Trap side. The careful inspection and consulation with the rest of the group brings the following information 1. there are 2 sets of tracks (humanoid) leading out of the grove to the north. 2. No one from the Broken Tusk's have been this way to set the traps or otherwise try to find Mamoths. This is Tapir territory (although the very edge of it, if not just out of it) for the Broken Tusks. 3. While the traps are quit similar to the ones used by the Broken Tusks, the specific plant used for the poison seems to be one that is found higher in the mountains to the eats. At this point, in order to fullfill the task set out to the group they need to bring the Tapirs back to join the other Tapirs of the Broken Tusks.
  19. You recognize that the trap is defiantly not the making of your hunters. This is something foreign. With that roll you are able to gain all the knowledge that can be gleamed as to how the trap works. Only the people that laid it are still a mystery. (Do you have any specific questions I should answer about the trap? )
  20. Your medicine check did work. It just takes awhile. Is there something i missed then in the last post?
  21. Myriawen, using the branches provided by Qingalic, is still unsuccessful. However, The animal is not scared away and continues to eat. Since the Tapir is healed and not being threatened, it simply continue to eat and wait. Since Egan is having much better luck with the other Tapir it seems the group just need to wait through the process of Egan gaining the friendship of the Tapir. Both of the Tapirs still have the barbs in their hoofs, although the one feels no pain it is obvious that the barbs need to be removed from their hooves. How would you like to go about this task. Also, Qingalic notices the traps they were caught in. Would any of you like to examine them more closely
  22. Egan is successful in his roll to tame the southern tapir. Myriawen - The sooth spell heals the northern tapir but the attempt to befriend it fails - it is no longer in pain and therefore no longer scared. Gol'garath - You are half right in your assessment of the traps. They are different from the work of those who tend to or deal with the tapirs. Rather they are something the hunters of the Mammoths use. You figure this out as part of your scouting activities by finding the tracks and other hints to the real setters of the traps. Quingalic and Tayln both stay to the outside of the grove as they stated. Neither of the Tapirs moves much. The one that Myriawen heals finds the nearest vegetation and starts to eat. The befriending process takes about an hour. So all of you but Egan have some time to try to "capture" the other tapir.
  23. We are. You all would have had one to start with. So yes go ahead and reroll if you want. Which nature roll are you retooling. Sorry I didn’t go back and read though.
  24. Yes you do gain it even with out the prerequisite. The animals are injured but have gotten themselves out of the trap. The barbs are still in their hoofs
  25. Those of you who managed to pay attention to Imek as she talked on the way to the to the tapir grove are awarded with their vigilence with a new skill. (Egan and Myiawen ) They gamin the Tame animal skill. Imek's stories' tell of how she befriended each of the Tapirs in the herd. When you reach the tapir groove she turns and heads back to the the camp. The only animals in the grove are two injured tapirs. They both have poison tipped bards from traps that were set out by the Mamoth hunters. Both animals are scared. At the point that the group discovers them they are both facing the other way and laying down trying to remove the barbs from their hooves. You five are represented by the 5 x's on the map. The tapirs are the S's. They have not seen or otherwise noticed you.
