  1. Looking at the char sheet, Kesh normal attack mod is +4. So looks like he didn't include the Bless d4 just his normal attack mod.
  2. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Strength: 7 (-2) Dexterity: 12 (+1) Constitution: 18 (+4) Intelligence: 8 (-1) Wisdom: 14 (+2) Charisma: 19 (+4) AC: 11 HP: 10/10 PP: 12 Victor had been safely hidden by the illusionary tree stump, but seeing the wolf appear nearly on top of him, he forgot the camouflage and slowly backed away toward the fire. As he retreated, Victor whispered vile sounding words as a flame appeared in his outstretched hand. A quick motion and the flame launched at the nearest wolf. OOC Movement: Retreating to K13 Action: casting Firebolt at W2 unless the previous attacks have downed it, then W1 Bonus Action: Reaction: Crying in pain if eaten Interact-with-Object: β€” Concentration: Woot!! First critical hit of the game :)
  3. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Strength: 7 (-2) Dexterity: 12 (+1) Constitution: 18 (+4) Intelligence: 8 (-1) Wisdom: 14 (+2) Charisma: 19 (+4) AC: 11 HP: 10/10 PP: 12 Victor roused at the cry of alarm rolled up to a crouch at his bedroll. He watched as Kesh approach the edge of camp supported by Trisae's burst of light. Feeling confident that nothing is easily getting through the massive dragonborn, Victor scans the opposite side of the camp looking for signs of a rear or flanking attack. [ooc: ignore this next part if we don't get an action here] The Other, that spark of his power deep within his mind awakens drawing power from within Victor's mind. A few quick gestures and the light around Victor starts to bend, shadows begin to reshape forming the image of a large tree stump covering the kneeling human. OOC Movement: β€” Action: Minor Illusion - tree stump on top of where Victor now crouches. Bonus Action: β€” Reaction: β€” Interact-with-Object: β€”
  4. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Except for the early return of his headache, Victor found he had actually enjoyed the long walk with his new associates. As he chatted with others, he did not reveal much, although he does mention that his mother was a kitchen servant and that he essentially grew up in a kitchen. As first watch is established, "I will take second watch then and wake Trisae for hers." He felt a little guilty at having to disturb the dark elf, but was glad to see everyone was being careful. He smiled to himself at the small tent she called a hat. Unrolling his bedroll a bit farther from the fire, Victor sits quietly meditating for a few moments as the two interesting guards start first watch. His eyes closed, he has a small bag of objects which he pulls out touching one or the other. Breathing deeply and focusing on the familiar items, he stills his mind. Quietly going through the steps he has learned to quiet his thoughts. The last thing he wanted was to wake in one of Kesh's gladiatorial memories. The meditation and ritual did not completely banish the nightmares which had plagued his youth, but it helped. Victor rolls up into his bedroll and drifts off quickly.
  5. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . As they make camp, Victor seems to have recovered from his earlier struggles. He had been travelling for the past couple of years, so the methodic steady beat of one step after another was at least a comfort in its routine. Victor referenced his new compass a few times just to make sure they were headed in the general direction. it was definitely easier to follow a merchant caravan on an established route than their current endeavor. At the camp, Victor assists in gathering wood for a fire and spends time sitting next to it. He does not set up a tent, in fact he is not carrying one, but instead finds a spot not far from the fire to setup his bed roll. As evening arrives, Victor sits quietly and meditates for a while, centering and clearing his thoughts. It had been a long day, but this was only the beginning. What might he learn on this journey? Was it something he really wanted to know? OOC Victor will take a turn at watch in whatever slot. Maybe first or last if given a preference.
  6. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . With every step away from the tree it started building. Like the cool wind or dim light which warned of the coming thunderstorm. Even with the warning, Victor was unprepared when the storm hit. Stopping almost in mid step the young man leaned heavily on his staff as pain flashed through his skull like a lightning strike. His stomach churned as the entire world turned sideways and then righted itself. Catching a ragged breath Victor began to push back against the pain in his skull, thankful he had not over indulged at a breakfast and knowing he would be emptying it back onto the road if he had. A slow breath as he pushed back against the other, another he layered in those mental barriers which offered him some little comfort. Victor silently chided himself for not being prepared, lulled into a foolish lapse by the moments of peace offered by the tree's presence. That other part of his mind which sparked his power had awoken and reminded him that it was always there. 'Welcome back old friend' and somewhere in his mind Victor thought he heard laughter in response. OOC If the perception roll is for at camp, Victor will be recovered. If it is anywhere around the start of the walk, he is too busy putting his mind back together to notice anything at all.
  7. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Victor smiles warmly at Trisae as she helps load up his plate. The lightness of the morning, the smell of the food, they almost lure him to do as she asks. Almost. But he knows better. Knows that this moment is an illusion of what life might have been for a normal boy living at some manor getting ready for a hard day of work ahead. Victor watches Trisae chat with the others as he eats the choice items from his breakfast, saving the more portable things to be wrapped in a cloth and stashed in his satchel for later. He says a quiet "Thank you" to the tree for this unexpected moment of peace as he gathers his things and leaves to join the others. Stopping at the door next to his new companion. "Ancient powerful crystal artifact. Hopefully we will know it if we see it. Can't be too many of those things laying around." Victor laughs to himself at the idea of returning with a powerful crystal and the high council saying "Nope, try again." Returning at all might be a luxury in itself.
  8. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . When Victor awakes the following morning he feels something is definitely wrong. He listens to the rustle of the leaves and the birds for a few moments trying to determine what was missing before coming to the obvious answer, he had slept and felt rested. Even now, that part of his mind which tormented him every night remained quiet and withdrawn. How long had it been? Perhaps not since he was 12 or so years old when his powers, along with the headaches and nightmares, had begun. Closing his eyes again, "Perhaps I should just stay here for the rest of my life." he says out loud even though there is no one around to hear it. Knowing that is not an option, Victor rises taking a few minutes to wash, change, and even straighten his hair a bit. He even spends a few moments cleaning his attire using a spell similar to the one which Trisae used the night before. Normally he would not have bothered, but today he felt more energetic. Victor enters the main room looking and feeling far better than he had the night before, smiling at the smell of breakfast. Hearing that she prepared breakfast, he approached Trisae, "Everything looks and smells wonderful. It was kind of you to do this. Thank you." Victor selected a few items, taking less than one might expect for a young man, but matching his slight appearance. Sadly he reminded himself that this would end soon, with the group on the road and he fully expected that other part of him to awaken. Victor selects a few items from the table of supplies. Picking up the compass, he watches the needle for a moment, whispering softly and a slight gesture sends the needle spinning in circles for few moments before returning to true North. He sighs with some weight of sadness, such a trivial pleasure which was normally out of his reach. Adding the compass to his satchel he considers what the next few days may bring.
  9. Since I'm new to the site I'm not sure if players typically create a character sheet and then update that will all the details or they keep updating their application area or some combination of those two.
  10. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Victor pauses for a long moment. She was asking him for advice. That was something new as it was usually Victor searching for any scrap of information related to his condition. He considered how is own powers worked. "I think you are safe. She would only hear what you offered in return." Victor had a feeling if the high counselor wanted more, none of them would know the difference, but he kept that though to himself. "I have some experience with it and we have a long walk tomorrow." Victor is surprised by AelysΓ»ne's declaration. Apparently she received a message also and it seemed far different than the one he received. He watches quietly as the discussion continues, but adds nothing as the small monk attempts to smooth things out. "A rest would be most welcome."
  11. Cool write up. The black cat being the witch is very cool. 😎
  12. Quick time check in game. The meeting was at midnight, so we are still looking at not even being 1am yet, correct?
  13. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Victor considered the map as the others also reviewed the various landmarks. He had travelled much of the last few years but that had been mostly by road and often by merchant caravan. "So no horses. What about provisions or other supplies? Looks to be at least a week round trip. I do not see any other towns in that direction. Are there any travel posts or stops along that stretch of road not shown on the map?" He says the questions not specifically to the monk, but raises them in general to anyone nearby. Victor's heart skips more than a few beats when the exotic dark elf pulls him aside. He manages to catch most of her whispered question. Obviously Trisae was not as accustomed to mind speech as he had become over the many years since he had gained the ability. Victor was tempted to respond mentally, but resisted the urge to show off. He was not ready yet to reveal that much of himself to these new associates and Trisae was already trying to resolve one voice in her head. It was best not to add to the situation. Victor is quiet but not secretive in his response. Anyone nearby will have no problem hearing his response even if they missed Trisae's question. "Yes, she did speak to me also. Although I think her message was different for each of us." OOC Couple of different things going on. I'm assuming they are all happening around the same time and that the order isn't important.
  14. Victor - β€œMy words,” Victor said. | β€˜My thoughts,’ Victor thought. | My actions . . . Victor shrugs while thinking to himself that his knee still hurt from the journey to reach the meeting place. Saying in a normal volume "I would expect we might be. Does not sound as if roads are common in that area and horses may not be able to handle the terrain." The back of a slow moving merchant caravan caravan seems like a luxury Victor will not have available for some time.
  15. Never played spell jammer, but sounds interesting. I might have to look up the gun rules in the DMG. How are psionics determined? Only specific classes.
