  1. While Shizune fought the evil spell that came upon her, she placed a hand gently on her chest and prayed for healing from Eilistraee. Through all of that, she smiled warmly at the priestess, fighting through the nausea and pain. “I implore you to see reason. Renounce your demon goddess and join your sisters in the light. You have one chance. Think of the lives you could save. ” Actions Will save: 8+7 =15; additional +5 to charm/compulsion; additional +2 vs. enchantment Actions, regardless of save: Standard: Moderate Cure on Self: 2d6 + 9 HP HEALED also, some diplomacy, assuming I failed the check, otherwise add +2 to roll
  2. Vesstan is finished. Let me know if you need me to change anything, but he is good for final review, otherwise. Thank you for the opportunity and I hope to get in. This is actually my first Paladin in 5e.
  3. Shizune ran along her conjured fog wall, stopping out of melee reach of the guards. She extended a pointed finger at the offending cleric and launched two rays of fiery power at her that bounced harmlessly off of her innate magical resistance. Shizune frowned at the failure of her one offensive action during this combat. Actions Move: 4 squares southwest, 2 squares west Standard: Scorching Ray, 2 rays both at cleric
  4. Rowena recovers slightly from the initial shockwave of the spices, she takes the tomato with what little grace she can muster and carries on. "Thank you for this; I truly appreciate it." She wolfs the snack down and enjoys the feeling of the healing fruit make its way down her throat into her gullet. She speaks a few words of arcane power and searches for the presence of magic in the immediate vicinity. Actions Cast: Detect MagicArea 30-foot emanation You send out a pulse that registers the presence of magic. You receive no information beyond the presence or absence of magic. You can choose to ignore magic you're fully aware of, such as the magic items and ongoing spells of you and your allies.
  5. Id Pym can't or won't succeed, I will attempt a dispel.
  6. Rowena gags as the noxious gas filled her lungs. "What in all the hells is that?" she asks between gags and dry-heaves, desperately trying to hold herself right as the poison works its way through her system.
  7. would you be okay with taking a lower cost armor instead of the one that comes in the starting gear? For instance: a Paladin starts with chainmail; could I choose a chain shirt or studded leather instead? Going with a Dex build and it makes no sense to start with full chain mail lol
  8. Rowena gladly accepts the food and bites into the chicken, and stows the remaining food into her pack. She looks down at the death sauce with piqued interest and nods her head. "I would also love a taste! But I'm still interested in those cooking bowls of yours! Where did you get them?"
  9. Rowena retrieves another large limb and attempts to fashion another, better lever-fulcrum setup with it, some large rocks, and hopefully the others lifting and helping. This time it seems to work a little better for her and the others lifting.
  10. “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” Class: Paladin (Ancients or Conquest, unsure) Race: Elf (Mark of Shadow) Deity: Undying Court Alignment: Lawful Neutral Height: 5' 10” Weight: 130 lbs. Favorite Music: Originally, Classical; now, he would prefer Blues. Goal: To become the greatest swordsman in the world, and one day join the Undying Court. Plot Hook: Oakhurst is a bustling, turn-of-the-century town located in what is otherwise an ancient, war-torn, and undoubtedly haunted frontier realm, the Mournlands. There is opportunity, riches, and adventure abound for those brave enough to risk life and limb. Loyalties Vesstan has loyalties to two main groups: House Quiladorn in Aerenal and to House Thuranni who hires him out for odd jobs here and there. Is Might Right? “Context is the most important part of this idea. Might is an important part of raising an army, but it’s not necessarily an important part of raising children. You want your enemies and neighbors to think you’re strong so you aren’t invaded, but your children need to know that you are vulnerable enough to have a real conversation with, otherwise, you’ve raised field grunts and subordinates, not children. Sometimes might is right, sometimes might is wrong, and sometimes being the quiet one in the corner who doesn’t stand out has all the power in the room.” Personality Vesstan is not the most verbose person. In fact, he prefers to be quiet and observe more than to speak. He believes that being a great swordsman requires one to pay attention to their surroundings and weighing each decision before making any sudden decisions. He has no problem fighting and eliminating an enemy, but the true test of a warrior is their ability to solve problems without resorting to violence. He is witty, but since the death of his friends, has been unable to find someone to share his mannerisms and thoughts with. Currently, he remains quiet and chooses to distance himself from others to avoid any potential relationships that may contaminate his bleak worldview. He will fight to the death to defend allies, and has no problem weaving in and out of battle to protect a fallen comrade. Appearance Vesstan stands just under six feet tall and is lithe but muscular. His eyes are silver-grey, his hair is stark white—almost luminous—and he has a scar over his right eye. He is pale like most elves. His dragonmark is easily hidden from others on his chest, but takes up the majority of space; were he ever to be stripped in public, his dragonmrk tying him to the Houses of Shadow would be visible for all to see. He keeps simple belongings, a pack of explorer’s tools, light armor of fine elven creation, a longbow, some arrows, a double-scimitar, and a knife in his boot. On his neck he wears a holy symbol, proclaiming his devotion to his ancestors of the Undying Court. He could very easily blend into the background of any adventure, but can clearly hold himself in a fight. Background Vesstan was born to a powerful trade house entrenched in the economy of Aereni. He grew up learning among the richest families in Shae Cairdal. He was raised on fine foods & arts, was trained by the best of tutors, and studied beside the greatest minds of Aerenal. There was little he could not do; in fact, he displayed an aptitude for pretty much tradition and study, but he excelled at athletic pursuits. So, his family decided to push him toward his strengths: in his late adolescent years, he trained as a warrior, with the heavy influence of divine studies on his training. Vesstan was surprised when he developed the mark of Shadow on his chest, and his family cast him out from among them. They believed that bearing the dragonmark of Shadow was a curse on the bloodline, and that anyone who bore the mark would live a life of deceit and thievery. After being cast out by his family, Vesstan made Pylas Talaear his home. The influence of the Undying Court made Vesstan think of the future. He dreamed of becoming such a famous and strong warrior that he would be welcomed with open arms into the ranks of the divine counsel, despite his expulsion from his noble family. With these thoughts plaguing his mind, he began to travel with a group of elven adventurers across the world. Eventually, they made their way into Khorvaire. A few years later, while adventuring on the border of Cyre, Vesstan’s party was caught by what he would later know as the Mourning. All his party members were transformed into hideous beasts, but he somehow escaped unscathed. He made his way to Sharn, and has been working as an agent of the Houses of Shadow ever since, taking odd jobs to made money to live. Currently, though, he finds himself in between jobs in the town of Oakhurst.
  11. Rowena shrugs, and walk around the cart examining it. She reaches around the trapped wheel, and digs out a nice channel for the wheel to slip into, while trying to loosen as much dirt around it as possible. She pauses, finds some sturdy branches to wedge under the cart, and attempts to leverage her lever & fulcrum setup--combined with her meager strength & Sepurnia's efforts--to lift the cart back into place. Despite her attempts, the rotten branch breaks in the middle before she can put any weight on it.
  12. I was going to post a crafting roll, but I figured I’d just ask. Any specific roll I need to ID the cookware?
  13. Rowena took the time to explain what little she knew of the dragons complex to her new allies, and sat mostly in silence the rest of the time. Upon reaching the goblins she goes around to the side where many of them have gathered to work on their recipes. With a smile and a bow she simply says, “Exactly how spicy is this chicken? And where did you get such beautiful cookware?”
