  1. I was good at it, once upon a time. Never paid a dime for the game and got up to the top tier. Felt good way back when. :)
  2. He sure was. Hell of a finisher too with that Charge of his. And yeah, I can happily spend a half hour running around as the old man with the garlic in Vampire Survivor, happy as a clam.
  3. Can they do that? I mean...mechanically? :)
  4. Safe travels, Cai! Enjoy bud.
  5. "They can't...get past us...if we box 'em in," Zaivie says, straining with her back against the door even as she draws her sword at the same time as Allen. "Jus'...form a horseshoe...around th' door when it opens. Stabby types up front...shooters at th' corners. By th' time we're done...we'll have free rat meat...fer a year, boys!"
  6. Hahahaha So, what Zaivie is suggesting is letting one rat through the door at a time. No more than one; we'll get overrun. But if we only use the door as a bottleneck, only one person can stab the rats at a time, right? That'll take forever and maybe lead to us dying. But if we let the doorway be its own bottleneck and we form a horseshoe around the door, one rat comes through and the rest are stuck in the doorway. The one we let through at a time is surrounded by us on all sides. At least three party members can stab it at a time - from front, left and right - and two shooters can shoot it from close range at a diagonal - front-left and front-right. Hope that makes sense. Now let's kill some rats! :)
  7. "Aye! You an' yer sling and Cyrus an' his bow should shoot whatever th' 'ells we don't manage ta smash ta bits," Zaivie agrees when Thomas speaks.
  8. Before speaking, the warrior woman throws her body against the door with Black Dougal, helping to hold the tide back for now. But even as her shoulder hits the shuddering wood, she speaks: "I say fight 'em. Here, half us on one side o' th' door an' half on th' other. They gotta come through one at a time; don't got much choice, do they? They come through, one at a time, an' we kill 'em one at a time. Easy peasy boys. Let's do this," Zaivie says enthusiastically. It's clear that whatever this crazy girl is afraid of or has a phobia about, it isn't giant rats apparently.
  9. I'm happy with the bottleneck approach. It worked for the 300 a couple thousand years ago, so hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That said, I am intrigued by the giant block of cheese trap. Never thought of that one before. :)
  10. Ol' Leeroy Jenkins brings back some serious Hearthstone memories for me. That sucker still holds up as my all-time favorite mobile game, truthfully, even though I almost never play it anymore. Tell you what though: Vampire Survivor is a damn close second on that list.
  11. "Jus' don' get too far away, Tharny," Zaivie says somewhat sagely, happy to help check the two doors closer to the entrance. "I reckon gettin' too far away down 'ere is near th' same thing as fallin' on yer sword fer th' fun o' it."
  12. Both I and (especially) Zaivie would be just fine with Mr. Dougal as the party leader for minor, "left, right," decisions but not necessarily, "Ohh, let's open that sarcophagus," decisions. If that makes sense. :)
  13. Turning demons and devils would be a handy trick to have in your back pocket.
  14. I vote for the second option too. And welcome back, Malk!
  15. Zaivie stands guard while scouting occurs, eyes flicking from direction to direction. "Sure are a lotta directions Death could be comin' from down 'ere," the warrior mutters softly.
  16. "Course 'e's comin' down! Can't shoot much up there by hisself, can 'e?" Zaivie says.
  17. "I don' know if th' footprint makers're friendly'r'not, Al, but I'll tell ya this much: whoever - or whatever - made this...this...whatever th' 'ells it is we're standin' in right now? Those f***ers definitely weren't friendly. Not by a long shot," Zaivie responds.
  18. For what it's worth, my girl has a grappling hook too, just in case things get tricky getting out of here again.
  19. "An', jus' sayin'...but we're gonna need ta be careful we don' run off too far or split up down 'ere. There might be other exits, I reckon, but we don' know where any of 'em are; jus' this one. If we ever wanna see th' light o' day again, boys, we'd better be damned sure we know where this 'ere hole is," Zaivie warns with uncharacteristic seriousness.
  20. "Yeah, we're all goin'! This ain't jus' a hole an' we both know it. Let's roll!" With that burst of enthusiasm, Zaivie descends as well. Once down with the others, she lets out a low whistle. "Well, well, boys! Lookee wha' we found ourselves 'ere, eh?"
  21. Cheers on making it to Part Two, all! :)
  22. Zaivie looks confused and frowns thoughtfully before responding. "Well...ta be honest, Tharny, I can't say my firs' instinct was ta cut th' rope and leave 'em - whoever they are - down there ferever...but now tha' ya mention it, don't it seem like a good idea pull th' rope up an' ta wait an' see who comes back fer it? If'n it's folks we don't wanna kill an' rob, we'll pass th' rope back down to 'em; if'n it's th' other kind, well, I reckon we won't then."
  23. Don't split the party, Malk; bad things happen in tombs and caves when parties are split. :)
  24. Zaivie, on Black Dougal's word and cue, tosses her newly-lit torch in as instructed. "Right behind ya, Mr. Dougal!" she says, already unsheathing her weapon in preparation for what may very well come next.
