Age: 26 (can be changed depending on the actual year the game takes place in)

Concept: Jedi Knight who quit the order a couple years before order 66 and is now a "good guy" smuggler who helps surviving jedi across the galaxy.

Personality: Although a kind, generous and extrovert person, Darion always had a certain disdain for rules, he knows how to follow them, but as soon as he disagrees with something he is the first one to point it out.

Skills: Darion is a hell of a negotiator, being really great with people, he is the embodiment of a Jedi Consular of old, but don't be fooled, he is really handy with his green lightsaber.

Goals: Darion's mission is to help as many stranded and surviving Jedi as he can, helping them to settle down on new lives across the galaxy.

Background

Darion lived the standard Jedi life, being taken from his family early on, being only 3 years old. He became a padawan at 13 under Jun Lang's wings. Jun Lang was a human Jedi Master female, who first found Darion on the planet of Corellia. Jun was a strict, but loving and caring master, although she was considered a pariah by a few masters since she would openly voice her concerns and defy the council at times when she felt it was unjust, a characteristic that Darion ended up taking from her. The young Jedi grew stronger in the force with each passing day.

Darion was 22 when his Knighthood was announced by the council, and he and Jun were really happy. The ceremony took place and the two decided to head to a pub in Coruscant outskirts to commemorate, they were having a few drinks when out of nowhere they were attacked, both felt the attack and managed to defend the first blow, but they were outnumbered 10 to 1, and the attackers were professional, Jun ended up sacrificing herself so Darion could escape. The Knight brought this situation to the council promptly and gave them all the details, but weirdly enough, the investigation was dropped only a couple of weeks later. Darion did the digging himself and ended up finding that Jun was killed because she found out about a corruption scheme in the republic, and that made Darion confront the council. The council tried to convince him that this was out of their power, and to drop it, to which Darion responded by calling them cowards and sticking his own lightsaber on the floor. He left, still carrying his master's lightsaber with him as a remembrance of all that happened.

During the two years before Order 66, Darion had a lot of time to think and wonder about what he did, and even though right after all that happened he felt the pull of the Dark Side, he quickly realized he needed to get even more in tune with the light side of the force, traveling to Dantooine to meditate in the cristal caves there. It was during this period of time that his friend and ex-padawan, now knight, colleague Irisa Linn was sent to try and counsel the ex-knight and bring him back to the order, especially since the Clone Wars were at an all-time high. She spent a couple of days with Darion, they talked a lot, and even though Darion did not want to go back, Irisa understood he wasn't a threat and that he didn't fall for the dark side.

After that, Darion went to Corellia, his homeworld, where he managed to secure a ship and then he restarted his life as a smuggler, smuggling supplies to vulnerable communities across the galaxy that were affected by the war during its next two years.

Darion followed the force's guidance after one of his meditations, which led him to a small planet on the outer rim, where he found out that Irisa was stationed, as he approached her battalion, Order 66 was enacted and Darion managed to save her from the initial attack, and they both were able to flee on Darion's ship. They heard the cries of the thousands of Jedi slaughtered that day, and they both made a pact to help any Jedi survivors have a shot at a new life, while also helping civilians in need, all while staying clear from the empire themselves, having a big bounty on their head.

About me and the story

Welp, I've been playing on myth-weavers for a looong time now, this is a character I tried to play on a table years ago on the og site with some key differences, but didn't kick off. The idea here is that Darion quit the order because he felt the same way as Qui-Gon about the order, but having lost his master for the corruption in the republic broke him. Ideally he has the "Main character" story, being involved in the big stuff, but I wouldn't mind being involved in another's story as well, he has a small crew, but he is open to having different allies. My favorite parts of rpgs are the interpretation and role playing in general, with a sprinkle of combat here and there.

EDIT: Changing the character to a male character from my original idea. Need a change in the post name

I believe that the background is ready for a first pass! I'm thinking of adding one more npc, an engineer to the ship that Darion met somehow, but otherwise most is already there. I tried to add a few npcs that could give the character a bit more depth, I didn't go too in depth about their backgrounds, but i can if necessary.

If he turned his back on the Jedi order, why is he helping the surviving Jedi? His dramatic departure was a clear display of rage; did that action cause any further repercussions to him? How did the council respond to a former knight effectively announce their intention to become a dark jedi (from their perspective)? Surveillance? Knights sent to council him away from his path? How did the violent loss of his master and the percieved betrayal of the council alter his relationship with the force? Did he remain a force user? Dabble or even succumb to the dark side? Cut himself off completely?

Why is he named after Superman?

Aight, I'll answer those on some bulletins here, but will also incorporate the answers in the bg after (love that you seem to believe in character lore building <3)

  • He turned his back to the Council, not to the "original" ideals of the Jedi Order, so he still believes in their cause to be guardians of peace and justice, and that is why he helps the Jedi after order 66 (and a bit from guilty of leaving them behind in that situation)
  • It did, he felt the pull to the dark side, but resisted it, although he doesn't see the world so much in black and white anymore, he still holds the light side as the correct path, still he felt that the Jedi Council lost its way, he even thought about making amends but never had the time.
  • I guess one of his fellow knights could have been sent to try and council him, to which he responded he needed some time away from the Order after what happened, but the other knight didn't feel he was a threat or that his intentions were not pure.
  • For a couple months his connection the the force was hindered, but after quitting the order he travelled through the galaxy trying to find that connection again, and it ended up becoming even stronger for him because he found a calling in helping people, even before Order 66.
  • I mean, why not? Kal'El is a very star wars-y surname hahaha but if it bothers you, i really dont mind changing it xD
