How does this work?

Once you know what kind of familiar you are playing you will know your stats/traits (Clever, Fierce, Sly, Quick). When you want to do something, roll a d10 and add your most relevant trait. The GM will give you the number to equal or beat. If the task is dangerous, gain a point of DANGER if you fail. If you every roll under your current DANGER, you're in serious trouble - dead, trapped, lost or captured. You can lower DANGER by solving threats or running away from your problems.

Remember: Most tasks that are normal for humans are really difficult for animals, unless they can be broken down into smaller steps. You don't have opposable thumbs and all you know of the human world is whatever the witch taught you. You can talk with other familiars and animals that are of the same or similar species as you.

Task Rating:

6 - Simple

7 - Basic

8 - Challenging

9 - Difficult

10 - Near-Impossible

What has happened?

Your favorite person in the world, the Witch, was coming back from her Halloween festivities when she was jumped by a cowardly, sniveling witch hunter from a nearby village. He killed her and fled back to the village like the little bitch he is. You all found her shortly after, your magical connection drawing you to her in her last moments. She always told you that if something like this happens, if you could get the eyes of her killer and bring them back to her body she would live again! But only if you can get them to her before a week had passed. Now you and your fellow familiars must hurry to get revenge on the witch-hunter and bring your witch back to life. No one knows what happens to a familiar after their witch has gone, but it can't be good can it?
