Wrath & Glory Basic Rules

W&G is a d6 pool-based game, rolling a group of 6-sided dice together. The amount of dice rolled is equal to the Attribute and Skill score being used for the action. One of these dice is to be replaced with a different colored die, referred to as the Wrath Die. It counts as a normal part of your pool but adds extra flavor with its result. I believe MW has a roller for W&G but if not, the first result listed in your rolls will be the Wrath Die. (Example: Strength(ATT) 3 + Athletics(SKILL) 2 = 5 dice. (or 4 +1 Wrath Die)

Every 4, 5 and 6 counts as a success(or an Icon). 6's are referred to as Exalted Icons and count as 2. Some actions may need 2, 3, 5, etc successes to accomplish. This amount is called the difficulty number or DN. The game refers to Successes as Icons, but we can use the terms interchangeably. The Wrath Die comes into play when rolled as a 1 or a 6, being a Wrath Complication and Wrath Critical respectively. Whenever you roll a Wrath Critical, immediately add a Glory point to the group communal Glory pool, explained later. For an attack, you add the Glory point as well as rolling on the Critical Hit table. For Critical Hits, we will be using "Simple Criticals" instead, where you add +3ED to your damage(extra dice) and trigger a narrative effect based on the weapon's keywords.

Rolling excess 6's over the target amount of successes allows an action called Shifting. (Example: You have a DN3 roll, your 5 dice come up 4, 4, 5, 6, 2. That is 5 totally successes(as 6 counts as 2). The first 3 are enough to reach the DN, so the extra 6 can be Shifted. A player can shift as many extra 6's as rolled.

Players can use a Shift to Gain Information, Improve Quality of an action, Improve Speed of an action, add Extra Damage(+1ED per Shift) or Gain Glory for the group pool. Shifting to Gain Glory can only be done once per Test.

Wrath Points

Wrath is a player-held currency for spicing up actions. Each session everyone starts with 2 and you'll spend and earn it throughout a session.

Glory Points

Glory is a group currency used in a similar fashion to Wrath but with different applications avaliable.

Ruin Points

Ruin is to the GM what the other points are to the player. A GM-held currency to flavor up an action, combat or scene.
