Your character even gains half this bonus (rounded up) to resist all forms of Inspired mind control or emotional influence.

When encountering a new skill task for the first time roll Quantum + Intellect and with each success gain a temporary dot to a new skill.

The Difficulty is the current skill rating, if any, which is why it is harder to increase a skill you already know.

The temporary skill dots last for the scene.
PatronPatron (Origin / Social Edge)

Your patrons are your parents. They are very powerful and well connected, and expect the very best from you. Your whole life they have guided, trained, and protected you in the hopes of molding you into something great.

Your Patron can handle significant Path Challenges, like short-term access to highly restricted areas or borrowing normally unavailable equipment for an unspecified short-term purpose as long as the equipment is returned within a few days.

Drawbacks: These favors are not a one-way street. Her Patron occasionally asks her to perform some service. The frequency of the service depends upon the number of dots you choose. The Patron may provide her normal aid for this service, but always expects her to take the lead.

Prerequisite: Mega-Intellect 1

You think many moves ahead and seem prepared for anything. When engaged in Procedural Actions you gain a pool of points equal to Mega-Intellect for the following:

[2] Reduce Enhancement gained from a procedural action by 1.
[3] Change a clue associated with procedural action to point to a different conclusion.
[4] Provide 1 Enhancement to an ally in opposing or thwarting the procedural action.
Alt. IDAlt ID (Role / Social Edge)

For two dots, her fake ID is extremely thorough and well supported. All rolls to check if her ID is legitimate increase their Difficulty by +2.

Drawback: When not in use, a two-dot fake ID requires her to spend several hours every week making it look active.
 
CovertCovert (Role / Social Edge)

She takes great care to guard her privacy. Each dot in this Edge increases the Difficulty of all rolls to learn any information about her by +1. This penalty applies to everything from computer searches, to interviews, to examining public records or her credit information.
 
Small Unit TacticsSmall Unit Tactics (Society / Mental Edge)

She has been, or currently is, part of a small combat unit, and either commanded it or was an integral part of it. She is versed in a variety of military strategies and understands the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals on her team and how best to use them to achieve a goal. Using this Edge allows her to add 2 Enhancement to a combat maneuver involving her team.

material she needs for Research rolls right at her fingertips.

At one dot, this library covers a field equivalent to one Specialty, and offers 1 Enhancement to Research rolls made using it. Each subsequent dot either increases the Enhancement by one, or expands the scope of the library — first to a full Skill, then to a broad topic that can be tackled by multiple Skills. Note that the higher your character’s Library’s rating, the more conspicuous it is.
 
AttunementAttunement (Nove Edge)

Attunement is a way for a Nova to use their powers without causing harm to themselves. It is also a way to imprint objects with their power signature to protect it from their own power's harmful effects. Lastly, it is a way to imprint onto a Q-Tech device.

Q-Tech is ... With each dot in this Edge the Nova can invest a Quantum point to attune to the device, therefor deducting those points for their total number.

Purchasing this device at creation will grant the Nova a Q-Tech device at power rank equal to the initial dots purchased.

She knows how to fight in a brutal and direct manner using either brawling (fists and feet) or a single type of hand to hand weapon, like chain weapons, clubs, swords, etc...

• Power Blow: She can increase the force of her attack. All attacks with an appropriate weapon gain the Weighted tag. If the weapon already possesses the Weighted tag, then it gains the effect of the tag twice, but this tag cannot reduce the number of successes necessary for a Knockdown Stunt below one.
 
Precise Martial ArtsPrecise Martial Arts (Style Edge)
Prerequisite: Dexterity •• and Close Combat ••

She has trained to fight in a careful and precise manner using either brawling or a single type of hand-to-hand weapon, like clubs, swords, or chain weapons.

Each time this Edge is purchased it applies to a single type of weapon.

• Precise Strike: She can trade force for precise targeting of blows. You can ignore 2 points of the target’s armor, but in return must reduce the weapon’s Enhancement by 1 (typically to 0, unless it possesses the Quality 2 or Quality 3 tag).

•• Defensive Fighting: She excels at fighting defensively. In any turn that she attacks, she can increase the Difficulty of her attack roll by +1 in return for adding +1 to her Dodge for the next turn.
