Appearance: Opakk is a tall, hulking figure with marble-white skin. His perfectly sculpted body appears chiseled from flawless, living stone, through which the light of holy order has always shone. 

An ominous stare from his contrastingly blacked-out eyes, declares an unbending resolve; a will to forbear.

Barefooted, he readily treads, slow and steadily ahead, like a clockwork dreadnought, unabashedly dressed in little more than a loin cloth. 

In darkness, a great halo shines forth from atop his head like a lighthouse guiding the lost and wayward back to the shores of hallowed ground.

Personality: Steadily stoic and patient as a monolithic clock-hand, Opakk is an icon of his land; luminescent, steady, patient, and righteous; a vigilant sentinel guarding against evil and chaos; ever ready to meet mayhem with violence. 

Opakk speaks low, slowly and clear as cold water. He doesn't laugh much, cry, or holler. His mind is unbothered by frivolity; he ever inures the virtues of equality; a living symbol of balance for all the Spectra to see.

Background: Opakk was born beyond the far Eastern shores of the Circle Sea in a lawful and orderly land called The Many Mirror. There, white-sandy shallows stretch endlessly, reflecting the bright, crystal horizon and timeless sky, broken only by thousands of thin, mirror-like spires climbing ever and ever higher. 

Along with all his kind, Opakk pays heed to the light and accounts for the time. He tallys the minutes and hours, and monitors the steady growing of the crystalline towers. 

Once a generation, at precisely the same moment, a Champion-Pilgrim is systematically chosen from among the people who dwell in the Many Mirror; A Holy Seed Bearer. 

Despite having known nothing of darkness prior, nor fought any battles or traveled widely, Opakk, like all his kin are strong of body, hearty and seldom tires. He above most, in fact, and so was chosen and given a relic through which the Lords of Timelight, have bestowed upon him, power.

Herald of the Holy Order of Timelight!!

Now his life's purpose and divinely lawful task is to travel all the way West. Beyond the schismic shattering, and the ultraviolet grass..., beyond the unevenness.., the unsteadiness.., the labyrinthian, disheveled morass... All the way to the noxious shifting city of unholy, chaotic Black. 

There, at the center of that place's broken, unbeating, heart, he must plant the Anti-Entropic Seed, deep in the oily dark.

Only in this way, do his people believe, are the hands of chaos stayed and the balance throughout the Spectra maintained for perhaps another Age.

Notes for DM

MECHANICAL BUILD

  • I experimented with some custom traditions, including a custom trade tradition, so please let me know if they appear in line and appropriate.
  • I changed up his classes several times, but eventually settled on dipping two levels in the Champions "Prodigy" class, before committing to Armorist. He loses out on one point of BAB, but picks up the fun ability, 'Sequences' that adds a lot of combat variation to the character.
  • He specializes in Party Buffing, Combat Manuever Melee, Intimidation and Combat Healing.

 

(Please let me know if the custom traditions are acceptable, I will gladly change them, if not.)

 

THE MANY MIRROR

Inspired by your mentioning that the lands east of the Ultraviolet were mostly undescribed and there subject to our own creative whims, I decided to give some life to the easternmost city, "The Many Mirror".

I imagined the Circle Sea as a prism of sorts, separating white light into its constituent colors before spreading out Westward, eventually fading to Darkness.

Therefore, the predominant color and theme in The Many Mirror, (prior to the "prismatic schismic shattering") is unbroken white light, contrasting the black on the far side of the land, as well as lawfulness and goodness.

Life there ss very simple, almost monastic. Everyone there lives a very homogenous and quite peaceful existence, under the wise leadership of the Lords of Timelight and The 10 Tenets of Order; their holy doctrine.

The people there sustain themselves by a form of photosynthesis. It is a place of constant sunlight. No plant life. Just a flat mirror-like, watery plane, from which thin crystalline mirrors grow skyward.

 

CHARACTER AND ROLEPLAY

  • While Opakk is primarily melee focused, I changed some things for him to embody moreso the monk/cleric type character now, both in and out of combat.
  • Opakk is overly good and lawful. For example, he refuses to sneak and thinks it dishonest and cowardly.
  • Opakk is quite intelligent as a property of his racial characteristics but also quite naive to the world and therefore, potentially subject to much personal growth and development over the course of the journey, which could change him drastically. (Blank canvas ready for color)
  • Opakk doesn't have any innate magical abilities, beyond his Halo and some natural resistances. Nor does he have any combat experience. He's simply very big, strong, and durable. He channels Divine magic through the "Anti-Entropic Seed" (His Focus)
  • Opakk's capacities for Body Control/Meditation and his healer's motivations, make him an ideal sentinel for guarding the camp whilst providing Long-Term Care to the sick and wounded.
  • I thought to start him out with nothing but a cloth sack, blanket and waterskin, but I realized that WBL is important for game balance. So he has a modified "thrifty" items list.

  • Still fiddling with a few minor details but otherwise the character is ready for review.
  • I'll be sure to announce any major changes between now and the deadline.
