High Concept:

Relentless Corporate Cleanser

Before becoming a Reaper, Natsu used to be a member of a corporate black ops team, specialising in cleaning up loose ends - reliably, tracelessly, and often violently.

 

Typical Invocations:

• Applying violence to the opposing force, usually but not always of a lethal sort.
• Finding and 'vanishing' evidence, records &c.
• Estimating the degree to which a secret has been leaked.
• Finding ways to silence a witness that cannot just vanish.
• Pulling strings, using contacts, or calling in favours in the shady corporate world.
• Being relentless in pursuit of a target.
• Being relentless in the mental sense (not being fazed by disturbing scenes and the like).

• Having met/known someone/something from the corporate world.

Trouble: 

Callous Demeanour, Affable Nature

Natsu seems pretty much at peace with a life as a ruthless enforcer who disappears corporate enemies, intimidates witnesses, and dissolves bodies. After all, surely it's just business; it doesn't need to interfere with other parts of life, such as hanging out with colleagues or dealing with strangers in the street. Even mortal enemies can be treated nicely until the last moment. Right?

 

Well, unfortunately, things always don't work that way. The cold-blooded professionalism can be noticed by others, even though they may not be able to put a finger on it. And it tends to make some interactions more complicated.

 

Typical Hostile Invocations:

• Others using Empathy to realise that Natsu is up to no good.
• Penalising Natsu's attempts to use Rapport (already a zero) on others.

 

Typical Compels:

• Cause Natsu to act AffablyEvil towards targets/enemies.
• An interaction with a colleagues/friends goes sour because the they are repulsed by Natsu's professional compartmentalisation, the jarring contrast between on-duty and off-duty behaviour, or just the general creepy vibes.

 

Typical Positive Invocations:

• Appearing scary or dangerous when needed (usually with Provoke).
• Maintaining a professional, detached demeanour in the face of insults, danger, or pleading.

• Being aware of some fact that was easy to overlook.

Academic Background

While much of this education is now forgotten, Natsu wasn't always a corporate enforcer. But with some mental effort, it can be recalled, aiding in a selection of fields.

 

Typical Invocations:

• Using Medicine, Lore/Academics, and some fields of Crafts/Engineering, or helping others by recalling useful facts about these topics.
• Contacting an acquaintance with a similar background.

Typical Story Detail:

• Meeting a friend met in the university.

Born in a middle class family. Was a good pupil. Passed the exam to a respectable university. Specialised in biotech engineering, but was no slouch in other fields too. Upon graduation, found a job at a big corp as a biolab technician. One night got pressed into helping with a cover-up of a fatal accident. Complied without complaint. One thing lead to another. Became the go-to employee for off-the-books shady events. At some point was called to assist a team in the field. Demonstrated competence and eagerness. Was eventually made a permanent part of a corporate black ops team.

 

Lived the brutal but moderately luxurious life of a highly illegal professional. One day got caught. Admitted nothing, and did not snitch. Won the Reaper lottery. Suspected foul play, but did not complain. Joined the team with a shrug, looking forward to new applications of a well-honed skill set.
