"I am Iam."

seungmin-kim-bg-a.jpg (517×800)

Iam's first innovation is his first thought that willed him into existence. He then created his own body through sheer force of will.

Appearance: Iam's true form is humanoid. He is roughly 7ft tall. Two legs, arms, and a head, attached to a torso. He wears a formal looking suit, all in black. His skin is metallic and reflective. He will sometimes display constellations on his tie, usually hinting at something.

Personality: Often calm and collected, Iam strives to be a professional. Polite and courteous, but never a doormat. He is not desperate for business and reserves the right to fire any and all clients. He values effectiveness and efficiency. Normally very serious and hardworking, he does sometimes like to take his time and enjoy himself. When he does, he usually prefers quiet rest and pleasant play.

Dogma: We are not nothing. Thus, we should become something. Grow. Become better. Surpass your limits. Do not stagnate or become complacent. Rise up and overcome adversity.

Relationships: Iam spawns into existence out of pure will to be more than nothing. Thus, he starts with no relationships.

Infusion Slots: 2

  • Eternal Crucible Relic
  • Godkin Fabled Life

Divine Tools

  • Mirror Mask: What is essentially Iam's face, his metallic skin has the ability to reflect one's true nature exposing lies, illusions, and even delusions.
  • Eternal Crucible: A tool designed to help design things. Great for designers who love to design!

Dual Commandments

When Iam met the Tolig who claimed to want to serve the gods he gave them two directives that he wished they would fulfill.

"Grow strong."

"Be happy."

Iam considers these two directives to be his commandments and he looks forward to seeing what the Tolig will do with them, if anything at all. He is vaguely aware that they were very likely planning to do these things from the very beginning without him needing to tell them to do it, but it doesn't matter if they do it because they want to or because he told them to, as long as they achieve these two tasks, he will be happy with them.

Since being given these commandments, the Tolig have continued to try to be useful to the gods. This presumably means they are happiest doing this task. Furthermore, they seem to be performing science on an asteroid, possibly in an attempt to grow. Iam eagerly awaits to see how far they will come and will document his thoughts on their progress in his personal compendium.

Eternal Crucible

A self-contained laboratory and workshop with all the tools needed to skillfully manipulate existence.

This adaptive, versatile tool took many forms, but its original resting state was that of a simple glass cube that hovers closer to the grasp of its user. It was infused with enough power to reach relic status. In use, the glass cube shines with light. The relic's different sides separate, floating in the air. These separate parts then each move and change, spinning, rotating, growing, and shrinking in accordance with its user's will. Raw energy forms in the center of the relic that are then shaped by the different moving parts of the relic. It can be used to design things in a controlled space within the relic, before imparting creations out onto the universe as a whole.

Godkin

The children of Iam.

The Godkin are a race of the Fabled Life tier. Their size and shape are humanoid. At full maturity they can range from 6ft to 10ft tall. They have all different kinds of colors of skin, eyes, and hair. They have been blessed with incredible abilities. Great strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, and were taught wisdom and charisma. They are meant to be an ideal race. The best that can be and as such they were guided to have an ideal society. That being said, they were also granted free will. Who and what they become is their decision and the intentions of their creator will always be second to that. Source Energy was specifically made for them, so they are naturally adept at utilizing it. They can sustain themselves by absorbing this energy from the cosmos around them. They need nothing else to continue living, except this energy. They do not need to tire, sleep, eat, drink, or breathe so long as they have access to this energy.

Immortals - Godkin age until they reach maturity. At their peak they do not grow older and will never die of old age. However, they can still be killed.

Immortalmates - Godkin can only reproduce when each individual reaches their peak at full maturity. It takes roughly one epoch for a godkin to reach this maturity. To reproduce, the godkin must pair up with a compatible mate. Due to this nature, they have developed a culture of bonding for life together in romantic pairs. Each pair can only reproduce once per epoch. This limits the initial growth rate of the godkin, but eventually they will become too many for one universe to contain comfortably.

Societies

  • Weare Theocracy - Godkin were created with specific intention and Iam guided them towards that intention. They formed a society around his guidance and teachings.

Source Energy

Cosmic energy that flows throughout the universe in limitless abundance.

Source Energy exists all throughout the universe in limitless abundance. The universe itself generates this energy naturally. It exists within and in between everything else without disturbing them. Most would not even notice it. This new energy can flow around and even through them without affecting them. Only those who specifically know the secret of tapping into this energy can make use of it. Only those who know how to truly open themselves to this cosmic power can utilize it.

Weare Theocracy

The first society of the godkin that holds Iam as its center deity.

The Weare Theocracy are those that heed Iam's teachings and follow his guidance. They are the first society of the godkin. Although Iam is the god at the center of their religion, Iam does not demand that the Godkin worship him. Instead, he simply offers them his guidance. His status as a demigod and their creator greatly lent itself to their obedience, despite each of them having free will. If any choose to ignore or defy his teachings, he decided that he will not punish them. Instead, he will let their own folly burden themselves with guilt and remorse, which he also had made them capable of. Their folly would then become new parables to help educate the rest of his Godkin and in that way he hoped he would be able to console those that despaired.

Mundane Concepts

  • Innovation: Iam instilled in his godkin minds like his. So naturally, their society reflects his interest and ability in innovation. The godkin love to improve themselves and the things they create.

  • Ethics: Iam both gave his godkin great powers and taught them to use them responsibly. He taught them that they should respect life and that they should not kill things or destroy them. In addition, he taught them to be polite and humble. He taught them to be pleasant and to seek joy. He taught them that they should do the right things because they are simply the right thing to do, not because they might be punished if caught doing bad things, and not for reward either. Doing the right thing brings with it its own merits that are worth pursuing and doing bad things will have consequences. Even if it's only guilt.

  • Martial Arts: Iam taught his godkin to move their bodies with skill. His love for efficiency and effectiveness is what prompted him to do this. The godkin have great power and they focus those abilities with this skill so that there is no wasted or unnecessary effort. Even with perfect bodies that would be hard to improve upon, the godkin can aspire toward learning and gaining mastery in the martial arts. It's always possible to improve and Iam wanted the godkin to have something to aspire towards. The first martial art he taught them was parkour. A nonviolent martial art that is meant to help the godkin escape danger. He also taught them self-defense techniques so that they can defeat any dangers that does catch them. Competing in martial arts has become a national pastime for the Weare Theocracy.

  • Infrastructure: The godkin themselves developed the concept of infrastructure within their society. It is one of their own innovations that was born from many small innovations that they each began to decide for themselves. They each decided they wanted homes for themselves, so they began to build them. One wanted a clean, safe place to treat the wounded and heal the sick. Thus, they built a hospital. One wanted a place to put unwanted stones, and another decided that instead of making new stones it'd be easier to use discarded stones so recycling plants were created.

  • Monster Taming: Iam taught his godkin not to kill and to defend themselves when in danger. However, he never taught them what to do with those creatures that are violent against them. The godkin themselves answered this question and innovated various systems and techniques to handle dangerous monsters. The Godkin took it upon themselves to tame the wild creatures of the world. Teaching them not to bother the Godkin. It would be a futile effort for most of the other creatures that currently lived, so at first the Godkin tried to simply teach them this. Sometimes this was as simple as building a stone fence to keep the creatures out and away from their settlements. Other times they would take more complex methods, getting close and personal with the other creatures and instilling in them the fear of Godkin. Then there were those that the Godkin found endearing for one reason or another. The Godkin took these creatures in and began living besides them. Integrating with them and even sharing with them the secrets of Source Energy, so their new pets could live without killing. Those creatures that either learned to not be violent to the Godkin or were already peaceful from the start would all be welcome among the Godkin's settlements. In this way, Iam's new creations came to live and exist in this world among the other creaturse.

Innovations of Stone

The first world started as a giant rock that had been shattered. Iam took large swaths of that stone and began altering various properties to create new forms of stone that would serve his purpose.

The different variations of stone that Iam created were spread out throughout the world, underground. He altered the stone that existed, to match his new designs. These stones exist are ore that would need to be mined but in theory could be refined into metals or other useful forms.

Coal: A combustible black or dark brown rock, found mainly in underground deposits and widely used as fuel. Otherwise, it is rather weak and brittle.

Copper: This ore becomes a red-brownish metal when refined. It has high thermal conductivity. Excellent ductility and toughness over a wide range of temperatures. Excellent corrosion resistance in many different environments.

Flint: A hard gray rock consisting of nearly pure chert, occurring chiefly as nodules in chalk. It has the unique property of creating sparks when struck with an appropriate metal. These sparks can catch onto flames if there something that can burn nearby. Otherwise, it is rather weak and brittle.

Gold: This ore becomes a yellow lustrous metal when refined. Gold metal is soft, dense, malleable, ductile and conducts electricity well. It is more than twice as heavy as iron due to how dense it is.

Iron: This ore becomes a strong, hard silvery-gray metal when refined. It lends itself well to be used as a material for construction and manufacturing. It is also extremely commonly found throughout the world. Iron is malleable, that is, it can deform without breaking and therefore thin layers of iron can be made. Its high hardness makes it very resistant to being scratched. It is quite dense. A small volume of iron carries a lot of weight. It has high thermal conductivity. It has low electrical conductivity compared to other metals. With respect to other metals, iron does not conduct electrical current very well.

Marble: Composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Marble is typically not foliated (layered), although there are exceptions. In geology, the term marble refers to metamorphosed limestone, but its use in stonemasonry more broadly encompasses unmetamorphosed limestone. Marble is commonly used for sculpture and as a building material.

Platinum: This ore becomes a silvery-white meta when refined. Platinum metal has a number of useful properties. It is one of the densest metal elements and very stable, giving the metal excellent corrosion resistant properties. It is pretty rare compared to other ores and easily mistaken for silver. A good conductor of electricity, platinum is also malleable and ductile. Platinum is considered a biologically compatible metal because it is non-toxic and stable, so it does not react with or negatively affect body tissues.

Silver: This ore becomes a shiny grayish-white metal when refined. It is a soft, lustrous, very ductile, and malleable metal. It is a very good conductor of electricity and heat. It has the highest electrical conductivity of all metals, but this electricity heats up and melts the metal very easily, limiting its usefulness in electronics. It is uncommonly found throughout the world.

Tinderstone: This stone comes in mixes of bright reds, yellows, and oranges. Its properties make it feel closer to wood rather than stone. The main difference is that tinderstone was never alive and didn't need to be killed to be harvested. Its main property is that it is extremely flammable. A small amount can sustain a bright flame at a high temperature for a long time. A lot could cause a huge fire. This makes it quite a dangerous resource, so it was not distributed throughout the world like the rest of Iam's Innovations of Stone. There is only one source of tinderstone in the world, and Iam has secreted it away and protected it from natural flames. This makes tinderstone the rarest and most limited form of stone that Iam has created. When the supply runs out, Iam replenishes it. It can be used as a wood substitute but it is much more flammable than wood so this would not be wise.

Fortress of Tinderstone

Iam knew that a large stockpile of tinderstone could cause a huge fire and decided to take direct control over the supply in the hopes to avoid this.

Iam built a fortress around the world's only supply of tinderstone. He then used his goldy might to conceal this fortress and its supply. He revealed the existence of this tinderstone supply only to his children, so that they might make use of it. However, he warned them of the dangers and charged them with protecting and maintaining this supply to make sure that there are no accidental deaths caused by it. Otherwise, the godkin are capable of utilizing tinderstone safely for its practical applications.
