PERSONALITY

There is no personality. Personality died at the compound. There is only obedience. Obedience and unwavering loyalty to the corporation. Or so Rabbit thought. Then the corporation dumped him, and now he's not so sure anymore. Ever since he ended up on the street there have been gaps in his memory, and he's been recalling glimpses of who he once was, before the compound. Once, he was a boy. Once, he was stubborn, curious, innocent.

APPEARANCE

A slender, fit Moroccan guy that looks a lot older than he is. All he knows about style and fashion comes from his lessons about blending in, so you can leave it to Rabbit to put the generic in generic chiq.
HISTORY

Rabbit barely remembers it, but he used to be a son of two corporate managers from Casablanca. Unfortunately for him, his parents got too greedy, embezzling money from the corp they worked for. Eventually internal affairs caught wind, and when he was 12 years old Rabbit's parents went on a business trip they never returned from. A week later he was transported to the corporate compound where he'd spend the next 6 years of his life.

First came the mental conditioning. Methodically, ruthlessly every part of Rabbit's personality was stripped away, destroyed, piece by piece. The void that remained was filled by corporate propaganda and disciplining. Once his utter obedience had been assured, his black ops training began. Rabbit went through intense physical exercises and spent countless hours at the shooting range perfecting his aim with a variety of weapons. But he was also schooled in more subtle skills, such as smuggling weapons past security, avoiding unwanted attention and bypassing locks.

For Rabbit this period was one big hazy hell. He lost all sense of time, each day blurring into the next. His training and conditioning are most of what he remembers, and none of the other memories he has are pleasant. Except for one. There was a girl, Amber. After the psychological torture Rabbit went through, the bond he formed with her was a ray of hope for him, but it would be a rocky relationship.

The training they went through was designed to foster intense competition and a dog eat dog mentality among the recruits. And it worked. Thanks to their growing rivalry Amber and Rabbit slowly drifted apart. But it's hard to stay pissed at someone you spend hours training with each day of the week and eventually Amber and Rabbit rekindled their bond, as far as they could with the strict surveillance they were under.

After what seemed like an utter eternity, Rabbit finally went on his first mission. He would never forget it. Just the change of scenery after the countless days in the same compound felt ecstatic. Then came the thrill of his first kill. This was it, this was what he had trained for, for so long, where he had gruelingly been conditioned for. And it felt unlike anything he had experienced before. After six years he had been turned into the perfect killer.

Not long after that first mission Rabbit awoke to screams and gunfire. Someone had come for revenge. During the chaos of the raid he and Amber were cornered by the assaultants. In the end, the years of mental conditioning proved stronger than his affection for Amber. As the mercs subdued her, he made a run for it. Rabbit doesn't know what happened to Amber, and he prefers not to think about what happened that day. It's better that way.

With the safety of their project clearly compromised, the corporation decided to pull the plug and dumped all the recruits that had managed to survive the raid. Suddenly, Rabbit found himself on the streets of Night City. His world completely turned upside down, he turned to the only thing he knew how to do. He put his skills up for sale. He became a solo. Rabbit could use the money, after all, he had bills to pay, just like everyone else. But saying that he's in it for the money would be a lie. Rabbit is simply doing the only thing he is good at. And he is chasing the thrill he experienced during that first mission. He'll do anything to relive that feeling. Perhaps one day he can live down his past, leave it all behind and settle down somewhere. But today is not that day.
