  • Ruins dot the wilderness between civilizations

 

Islands of safety and well-trod paths.

  • Towns and cities offer relative security

  • The roads between cities are established

  • Unexplored wilderness carries great risk

 

Powerful nations with vast graveyards.

  • Everyone knows the major players in the world

  • War is a frequent state between nations

  • There is a fine line between mercenary and bandit 

 

Magical mentorships and powerful prophecies.

  • Magic is known by all but understood by few

  • Training is done through mentor-apprentice relationships

  • Prophecy has power but is never absolute

 

Everyone has an impossible quest.
