APPEARANCE |
Age 153 | Height 4'11" | Weight 120 lb. | Hair Black | Eyes Brown | Complexion Dark Masika is a fairly short, tattooed, shetasut elf with dark, braided hair that ends in tight curls. Despite her predilection for wandering unforgiving landscapes the hair is well cared for; a clear sign that she considerers her health to be important. Unfortunately that mindset has done nothing to curb her cat-like curiosity. That she hasn't lost a single blue digit is a testament to her luck. Since leaving the Drakewardens she hasn't seen fit to abandon her gear. She's too pragmatic for that. Blue steel on yellow leather and cloth, it compliments the colors of her drake Bakari. To be fair though, not many people remember her when her drake surges forward in a blur of bone and metallic blue. |
BACKGROUND |
Outlander
Background Feature: Wanderer Specialty: Guide BACKSTORY Masika was fairly certain she lost her faith in her father's vision of the Shetasut restored when her father succumbed to the Drake Blight younger that anyone expected.
Nakia had always preached about their return to glory and was a staunch supporter of King Mennastral. It wasn't hard to see why either. Their family still possessed some of the wyrm arts from those ancient days. For imperialists like Nakia, that past wasn't so ancient that it couldn't be achieved again. His blame often fell on the laissez faire attitudes expressed by most of their people. He hated their listlessness and idle lives. Lives wasted in his opinion. His daughter would not be like them. Masika would eventually be a beacon to light their way back to proper behavior and success!
As Masika watched Nakia melt, physically and mentally, she was forced to examine her own mortality and what her father's dreams for her would do to the rest of her life. To be as vehement and close-minded as he was. She started seeing, for the first time, the cost Nakai's dream for her life had wrung from her actual life. The wedge between friends and family that his outlook fostered. How quickly he was forgotten and ignored by a kingdom that didn't share his views. It was too steep a price for too shallow a life.
Masika left Ansu with her faithful drake Bakari in tow to travel the known world and find a place of her own creation. During her journey she often made herself available as a mercenary or guide, trading in knowledge and silver to get by.
Then the dreams of fire and death filled her nights. She held no particular love for the gods, but she could clearly see the wisdom in answering their vision. So, with nothing to tie her down and her place not yet discovered, Masika set sail across the Serene Sea to the Holds beyond. |
