Posting template to come. Background: A native of Absalom, Jushin Ages was raised primarily in The Coins, an only child born to parents nearly past child-rearing age. The Ages family were merchant peddlers, earning a modest but comfortable living selling odds and ends and, particularly, hard-to-find goods suited for Absalom's many denizens who had racial, physical, or cultural needs that were not so easily met in the types of shops marketing to humans, elves, and other similarly-built peoples. Need a tailblade, or a decent Dogslicer? 'Try the Ages', as their customers would say. Jushin himself was not particularly fond of the family business, but it did afford him ample opportunity to collect esoteric formulae and study reagents, allowing him to discover his real passion. But the life of an apothecary was nearly as dull as that of a peddler, and as he came of age, Jushin decided to join the city guard, who just so happened to have an opening for someone of his skills and temperament. Still basically a rookie, Jushin looks forward to putting his expertise to the test... Description: On the large side for a Ysoki, Jushin Ages stands roughly 4 feet tall and weighs in around 80 pounds, his most distinctive features being his very large incisors, owing to his laxness in keeping them filed down, and a set of beady, blood-red eyes that seemed to glow behind his greenglass spectacles, which he claims are protective eye-wear but are just as much a stylistic affectation. His voice is surprisingly low and a mite raspy as opposed to the expected squeakiness of many of his kind. His fur is the plainest brown one can imagine, aside from whatever patches of it may currently be singed or stained from his laboratory work. Although fairly friendly and outgoing, Jushin's likability is compromised slightly by the fact that he is, well, a little bit creepy and prone to going into gory detail, emphasis on the gory. Uncommonly enough, Jushin Ages is a follower of Pharasma, seeing the Gray Lady as the very embodiment of natural law and sharing her disdain for the undead. In Brief: Quick, clever, and tougher than he looks, Jushin Ages proudly serves the Agents of Edgewatch as both guardsman and, if need be, coroner. Friendly enough, if a bit morbid, Jushin is a believer in the laws of nature as well as the laws of sentientkind, and seeks to understand and master the former in service of the latter. Considering himself a pragmatist much more than an altruist, Jushin's blunt honesty and iron stomach make him well-suited to his work and respected among his colleagues, though he likely won't be chosen by his superiors to model for a recruitment poster any time soon.
