Jikjak Whiptail

spacer.png

Jikjak is about to lean out and take another shot, but then decides to instead manipulate the strands of time again.

"These things don't look to agile. Let's hope this works."

The strands resolve into the claw of some form of predator, which digs into the haunches of the green one.

Green's mind is no match for Jikjak and with Red's aggressors in the big metal can, it continues its assault against the APC. It rattles it hard but can't get through.

spacer.png"That's one down! Focus up, the next one looks nicely bloodied," Nils called out to his sundry comrades, awkwardly shifting in his seat to try and get a good view on the more battered of the two remaining beasts over the top of the APC. These creatures were not exactly blessed with cunning. As long as the group maintained a steady stream of fire, they could be dropped.

spacer.png"Alright, check the vehicles, make sure nothing important was damaged. Anyone know how to dress game? These have got to be a few days worth of rations if they're edible," Nils ordered as the last creature finally gave up on the stubborn aggression of large dumb herd animals.

Jikjak Whiptail

"APC's looking fine."spacer.png

Jikjak hops out, appraising the damage that the beasts did to the vehicle. He runs his hands over the dent left in the side.

"She took a bit of cosmetic damage, but nothing that can't be fixed with a few whacks from a hammer and a UPB."

He then moves over to the fallen corpses, pulling out a standard pattern survival knife.

Don't say it, don't say it...

"Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!"

Damnit, I said it.

"Anyone mind giving me a hand, pseudopod, or other such appendage? This is a lot of animal for one little ysoki."

Shawkra

Unfortunately, Jikjak doesn't manage more than a small piece of horn and some scraps. Anyone else can give similar a try if they'd like (we can deal with that as we move)

The convoy finally gets onto solid ground and moving once more. As you push on, the fungal "trees" give way to open, rocky terrain rising to foothills and eventually the mountains behind them. As you approach the coordinates, its obvious some of the rocky terrain isn't natural. Rather much of this area is littered with what appears to be the remains of some kind of reinforced concrete buildings. Viewed as a whole, it there must have been some kind of small compound here.

At this point, you're practically on top of the exact coordinates but there doesn't seem to be anything here? The civilians are looking around confused with Lavinia giving you all a sort of "this was it?" look of helplessness.

Phelar Morilla

spacer.png"The cycle wasn't damaged." Phelar said with a small shrug. "Me though..." A small chuckle escaped her as she held a mall wound.

Phelar then made her way over to the APC. "I'll fix that when we get to where we're going. Will take me no time at all." She said with a nod looking at the damage Jikjak was surveying.

When they were moving again she retake her spot in the line of vehicles, keeping a more watchful eye out for trouble.

Finally the convoy reached it's destination though. Phelar would look all around, and would even take the enercycle around the remains. She'll make it back to the others. "Was this really what we made the trip for?" She had no desire to state that if they did what she suggested they of know this place was in this boat before the trip, she decided to keep that to herself. Finally she speaks up again. "Are we missing something maybe?"

Shawkra

Once they reach the coordinates, he'll look around, primarily for underground access areas.

spacer.pngNils dismounted from the walker and moved into the ruins looking profoundly tired. They had worked so hard to get out here and there was just rubble.

"G-give me a moment, we'll... uh, we'll..." He trailed off, taking a heavy seat on a protruding piece of concrete. He put his head in a hand, rubbing his forehead, and let out a shaky breath.

En route, the poor creature is butchered more, leaving little useable.

The civilians are increasingly vocal over the next hour as everyone spreads out looking for something, anything to indicate that the journey over the last several days was worth while. Lavinia keeps the peace but its easy to tell her faith in the idea is shaken.

As your group searches, you can assertain that this was a some kind of small complex, with the remains of what appears to be 4 buildings and a perimeter fence. Phelar manges to find a piece of wall more intact that the others among the rubble. RN-07 is written on it in worn, bold lettering.

Shawkra's cat-like eyes just catches the faint blink of a light through a layer of ropey fungal growth. Pulling it aside, they find a diagonal doorway set into the small hillside at the edge of the "compound." Further investigation finds that the blink belongs to an access panel, which indicates the doors are powered and locked.

Engineering, Computers, or a (slightly more difficult) Strength check to get through the door.

Phelar Morilla

spacer.png"RN-07, has anyone heard of such a facility?" Phelar said with a small shrug, pausing a moment to try and remember anything about it, if such a thing was even possible for her.

Finally she would make her way over to the keypad that Shawkra points out. "This I can work with. Give me some time, a moment or three and I should have it open." Since the panel qualifies enough as a terminal Phelar simply reaches out and touches it. Her awareness seems to drift for a moment as she accessed the keypad to open the door.

Using Computers to unlock door, and to see if this pad is linked to anything else like a larger security system.

Phelar doesn't find any other systems tied to the door controls and is able to easily unlock it. It automatically opens with a whoosh and a large poof of green spores.

Phelar would find herself immediately coughing and needs to make a Fortitude save. The cloud of spores will linger in the area for the better part of an hour and anyone wanting to pass through them will need to likewise make a Fort save or enable the environmental protections on their armor as they do to negate the effect.

Beyond the door, a hallway lit by faint, green emergency lighting descends into the darkness below. The lights just manage to outline what you would guess is a T junction roughly 20 feet below.
