Jikjak, Phelar, and Shawkra do their best to get seated despite the odd angle and work the controls. There's a few awkward jerks and one point where the walker leans a little too far back but eventually you get it righted. Walker: Online.

 

You can still attempt to get the enercycle out before you leave. Doing so is effectively the Ram action of piloting a vehicle, though rolling high enough above the DC will get you better results in terms of mitigating damage to the cycle and escaping the debris.

To that end, another Piloting Check

Jikjak slips behind the wheel of the enercycle and clicks it on, listening to the motor purr. He quickly gives his Triune holy symbol a kiss as he revs it up.

"She's feeling feisty right now, Eri. Let's hope she feels the same after a head-on collision with some concrete rubble."

Please, Shelyn, don't make me look like an utter prat in front of Eri...

With that last second prayer out of the way, Mr. Whiptail revs the engine a few more times, then accelerates towards the weak spot!

Jikjak revs the enercycle hard and it lurches though still slightly stuck. Shawkra, Phelar, and Nils all shout, point, or otherwise direct the cycle's ejection from its burrow.

Its not the smoothest exit, it leans hard to one side before Jikjak can correct it and smashes into the side of fallen building before it pops out. 

Its got a nice dent in one side of it now though (Mechanically as a Ram. Vehicle takes half, and hardness so in the end, it comes out alright.)

Of note now that its out in the open is the extra armor running along the front, which provides more cover than a "basic" enercyle.

Two vehicles out, 4 civvies in tow. Onward to the factory. I'll leave it to you to decide if and how the vehicles are coming along. They're both currently functional. Regardless of that decision, you head on.

 

Neer continues to lead on, letting you know that its close, just past this next intersection. The intersection itself is quite open, this section doesn't seem to have faired too badly in the fighting.

The shot misses, the more military minded of you would instantly suspect that was on purpose. A voice follows the gunfire, clearly amplified over the air "Alright, that'll be far enough then. You can leave all your gear and fancy things right there in the center of the intersection and be your way. No need for anyone to get hurt, now is there?"

Nils grabbed the back of Neer's clothes and tried to haul the shobhad back to cover when the shot rang out. He listened to the demands and did his level best to keep his face neutral. Bandits, not surprising. It was not like people were feeling particularly safe or stable at the moment.

"You civilian?" Nils called out, trying to get a bead on where the shot came from.

spacer.pngPhelar ducked her head behind the armor plate on the front of the enercycle when the shot rings out. Poking her head back up she will pull her dust goggles from her eyes to just above her forehead and then begin to look around for where the shot came from.

"Matter if we are? Right out there in the center will do just fine and you can be on your way We're not going to ask again." The voice is so loud as to be hard to pinpoint. Phelar was too distrated by the new ride to notice much of anything. As to punctuate the threat, another shot fires and knocks a street light off its post just overhead.

Shawkra and Nils are certain they know where the shot came from, thanks to the additional example. Shawkra follows the gunfire, certain that it came from a building directly to the North while Nils catches a glint from a scope...from a different building. This one to the Northwest.

Eri carefully looks onto the whole operation, quickly inspecting their new prize for damage after Jikjak managed to remove it out of the rubble with a bit of cosmetic damage.

"That's be an easy fix when we get the time, but - there we go, new-old stock Enercy-" gunshot, ricochet

The Ysoki's pupils dilate, ear folding back as they flinch from the sound of the gunshot amidst the general quiet of the area. They quickly turn on their comms channel, assuming the worst, lugging their rifle off their back into their hands.

"That wasn't one of ours, was it. Nils? What the hell's going on?"

"It matters because I'm trying to get as many civilians as I can out of this warzone!" Nils shouted back. He did not have a good feeling though and was already sizing up the firing lines, trying to figure out the best way to get close to the two known enemy positions without gaining a few new holes in his face.

It was then that he heard Phelar's voice in his head. Becoming witness to another of her gifts. "I have an idea. Since it seems like they're not going to listen to us, and you and Shawkra know where they are I could draw them out by darting forward in the bike. Act as a distraction, when they pop out you two take the shots."

She then looked back in the direction they were looking, and back towards Nils waiting for his reply.

Leaving the NPCs off for the moment...mostly to make my life easier. They can jump in if needed/wanted.

 

Map Note: Effectively, everything you can't see is the top of a building. The two tokens you can see is where you either determined the shot to come from or something you actually saw. Consider the shooters in Cover for the moment. Buildings are all 2 stories tall. There are some fog areas that behind the buildings as well.

 

Vehicles are on Phelar and Jikjak to move for the moment, I can swap that if needed. You can set up delays for people in the same vehicle if you want or however you'd like to make it work. Or just hop out 😉

 

Phelar: Need you to join the campaign on Tableplop so I can get your character/token assigned.
