Cargo Handler on the USCSS Montero

PERSONALITY: Loyal

You grew up alone. Your parents sold power loaders on the frontier for a living and did not have much time for you. Hopping from colony to colony also meant you never were in any place long enough to make real friends. This crew is the closest thing to a family you've ever had - dysfunction and all. You would do anything to protect them, even put yourself at risk.

As mentioned in the other thread. If this character is still available I would like to play and have detailed some minor changes below. Please let me know if this suits.

Avatar (not chosen yet, just wanted to note that I'd maybe change it):

Name: Jed Harper (Cargo handler)

Background:
The clanging of metal. The whirring of hydraulics and the snapping of cables pulled taught. The stream of whistles, and of barked orders back and to across the bay. The rumble of the rollers as they carried something important deep into the belly of the vessel. Even the smell; old oil, wooden crates, sweat. Sometimes blood...

An onslaught to the senses for most, but music to the ears of Jed. This was home. Where he belonged; rubbing shoulders with the real grafters and salt-of-the-Earthers. It wasn't always like this though. He'd tried pushing papers around some office back home. Had the brains for it too, just not the motivation. The problem was, being sat at a desk all day was bad for your body...but it was worse for your mind. Gave you time to think about things. Things you didn't want think about for the most part. Besides, there was no way back to that life now anyway...

She'd been his everything. She'd also been everything he wasn't; ambitious, kind, honest, pretty. She loved him too. And he loved her, but not enough to stop him from screwing everything up. Pushing papers for one of the big banks was the hook, a life of luxury for them both was the bait. Being too greedy? Well that right there was the sinker. He'd convinced himself it had all been for her. To give her that perfect life she'd dreamt of, the one with the long grass, cool breezes and feet dipped into shallow waters. Yeah, how kind of you, Jed. If he had just siphoned a little less they might well be there now. But when you get greedy and those big corps get onto you, well that's it, they don't let you get away with it. They make sure you don't do it again. They hit you where it hurts. They make sure you live to regret ever thinking you could play them at the game they invented. And so here he was, and here she wasn't.

Pushing and pulling cargo. Strapping crates. Working the loader. Moving around...keeping the body active and the mind quiet. It was the only answer he had to it all. And it was honest work, too.  Couldn't hurt anyone down here in the bay. And one thing was for sure, he wouldn't let any harm come to his crew mates. They were all he had now.
