Please create a new topic in the Character Creation forum with the character you'd like to play. If you are looking for a template that works on Baldr, feel free to use the mobile-responsive template I've built.

I would also strongly recommend reading through the official Outlaws of Alkenstar player's guide which you can find here on the Paizo website.

The Basics
I'm looking for 4 or 5 players to join this game.

Desired post rate is at least 4 times per week.

Closing date for applications is the 30th of June.

Suggested Character Options
This table can be found in the player's guide but I've also included it here as a helpful guide. There are no hard restrictions on available content but the table below helps illustrate what character options are the most suitable to the AP and appropriate to the setting of Alkenstar.

This table should only be used as a rough guide—the best character is an interesting one that meshes well with the party and the campaign setting, rather than one that rigidly follows these guidelines.

All other Common options not listed on the table should be treated as Appropriate. Any Uncommon options not listed on the table are likely to also be alright if they follow the character flavour and are not completely unsuited to the setting and AP, but please ask first.

Character Background
There are some new backgrounds that were introduced in the AP and can be found on the Outlaws of Alkenstar Adventure Backgrounds entry on AoN. Each background provides your character with a great hook into the campaign's story.

You do not have to select one of these backgrounds and can instead choose any Common background you wish.

Free Archetype Variant Rule
We will be using the Free Archetype variant rule in this AP. From 2nd level and every even level onwards, characters receive a bonus Class Feat that can only be used on archetype feats. You can choose whichever archetype(s) to take; all other standard archetype restrictions apply.

For more info on this rule, check out the entry on AoN.

Access to Firearms
All characters from Alkenstar, as well as other regions where black powder weaponry is present (Ustalav, the Shackles, Arcadia, several regions of Tian Xia), automatically have access to firearms.

As usual, you still need a feat, class feature, or other ability that gives you proficiency with firearms to use them effectively.

Magic in the Mana Wastes
The setting of Alkenstar is notorious as a place where magic is unreliable at best and often unachievable entirely. When a mana storm rolls in, spells and magical powers are much more likely to go awry, so wise spellcasters sheathe their wands and travellers run for cover.

For the most part, magic will function reliably and as intended in this adventure path. This means that you can play as a sorcerer, witch, or any other spellcaster without fear of being at a disadvantage. The rare mana storm might complicate matters once or twice during the campaign, but your characters will be made aware of these events well in advance, giving you plenty of time to prepare for situations that could dramatically impact your character’s abilities.
