As the others drag their feet, Val sputters out a choked, yet urgent plea between coughing and gasps for breath, "Get… ughurk, out of the water…" At that, Violet wraps one arm around Val's back, supporting her under her armpit as the pair move forward, followed close behind by Rain. Dagger in the other hand, the android tried to wave it around at the nearest beetle as Val crawled out of the water onto the shore, but did little other than distract the insects. As the shaman also made it onto the sooty sand, the group of insects honed in on their next meal, with two of them snapping at the tiefling, and the other two again harassing Val. In the confusion, one bug manages to take a chunk out of Val, just above her right wrist.
