DESCRIPTION: Brother Christo Vanleaf stands tall for an elf, but like his kin the singer is slim built with amber eyes, long silver-grey hair which typically conceals his elongated ears, pale greyish skin, and a long lean face that features a large friendly smile.  Sporting fancy sharkskin armor and a large darkwood shield, the domain priest appears to be little more than the average elven mercenary who is armed with a long sword, long bow, and a plethora of other weapons and alchemical doodads.

PERSONALITY: Brother Christo Vanleaf is not your average stand-offish grey elf, but insted the holy man is a priest of the people.......serving the spiritual needs of the righteous and good folks everywhere.   The musical minister is good, righteous, loyal, brave, trustworthy, resourceful and a reliable ally, however the elven priest will not suffer the existence of pure evil nor tolerate its proliferation.  He is especially prejudicial against undead and will attempt to destroy such evil abominations on sight.

BACKGROUND:

Brother Christo Vanleaf grew up as most grey elven children did in the Vesve Forest spending his youth studying and learning the classic academics, but also running, jumping, tumbling, sneaking and hiding along with his contemporaries in the grand woods. Even though he was not as ‘studious’ as most, the youth did have a great affinity for music and his studies in herbalism.

As the child became a man over the years, he was instructed in various forms of combat and martial arts in accordance with tribal custom, and in fact the lad became a good archer and decent blades-man as well. During this time, Christo honed his herbalist skills and was taught how to attune his voice so that the notes and harmonies could influence and affect those and the world around him.

Even though Christo did not have much skill for the arcane arts, he soon eventually discovered that his inner spirit and faith following the elven traditions was strong and it allowed him to heal others and even pray for minor miracles while pursuing this ancient path of historical racial tradition. It was at this time in his life that the healer took the name, Brother Christo Vanleaf, based upon his two callings in life.

It was also during this time that happenstance brought the life of Brother Christo to an unlikely intersection with the life of a smallish gnome named Sugrin. Hailing from a place called Tinkertown, Sugrin was also unlike most of his kin as well, the gnome having a predilection for academia and illusions rather than mechanics and engineering. Perhaps it was their differences from their own peers that made the pair so much alike and, as Fate would have it, Christo and Sugrin soon became friends.

Taking the gnome under his wing. Christo taught Sugrin many of things he knew and encouraged the spell-slinger to try and employ his skills in a more productive way, which the gnome soon used to enhance his performances much to the delight of his patrons in the Forest. Being musically inclined himself, at times Christo would add his tenor to the event, but Sugrin no longer needed anyone’s help to hold an audience captive with excitement and imagination.

Recently, Sugrin caught wind of a cache of magical treasure supposedly hidden away somewhere in the bowels of a far distant mountain, resulting in the pair agreeing to investigate the matter. Thus, employing their trade and profession through the many townships and hamlets that dotted the countryside on the way to the northern frontier, Christo and Sugrin are seeking their own fame, fortune, and glory as they chase the legend of the Smith Durgeddin the Black and the lost hoard.
